  • More great ideas please!!!

  • ...Dave, I hope you are aware with what is in your backpack, you would be a perfect extra to 'Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy'.

  • Great video man!!we need more people out there who care good work...

  • We need more people like you!

PS: I never ask for plastic bags anywhere. I always have one with me, and that's it.

One time I even got the takeaway food cheaper because the owner was so impressed :)

  • Dave-

What an awesome video! Thanks for doing your part to get the word out there. I'm currently taking a course called 'Movement Towards Sustainability'. Our instructor is a big fan of using a "sustainable dining kit". I've been using reusable mugs/H20 bottles for some time and try to encourage others. I love the toothbrush holder!

Thanks again & keep it up!!!

  • That's awesome! Thanks for posting! Great ideas! I'm going to add the cloth napkin & spork! I already do water bottle & canvas bag. :) Keep up the great work!

  • this is great! awesome way to show how easy it is to NOT MAKE TRASH and SAVE MONEY -- yeah!!!

  • What a great way to eat and drink at work. Great job!

  • Thanks Beth, I had actually thought of carrying a chico bag, but realized that my needs didn't warrant it. Since I'd have it in the backpack i realized if I forget a bag but have the backpack I can usually just use that as a bag. I had actually thought of going the stainless steel route as i recognize the irony of using a plastic bowl, but I'm pretty sure most of the folks who have Orikasos because they've seen mine wouldn't be carrying around stainless steel instead. Thnaks for looking.

  • Great video, Dave. I'm with you on the bottle, cup, cutlery, and napkin. Not so hot on the plastic bowl. (And I'd never put hot things in plastic.) I carry a stainless steel camping container with lid because I can close it up and carry leftovers without spilling. Also great to carry some reusable bags (Chicobags, for example.)

  • Toilet paper gets used and disposed of as normal. I'm trying to lighten my footprint, but even I draw the line somewhere. Good question though.

  • Technically, it's still not trash - because it goes into the sewer system, not the landfills.

  • What if he has to take a dump? How do you get around using toilet paper?

  • ...any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where his towel is is clearly a man to be reckoned with
