The history of any American religious groups is that they begin to argue among themselves and, split., so even if they were united, they'd fracture.

As far as I know, Frank is still Greek Orthodox, one of the more famous converts to that faith. I wonder how his church is reacting to Schaeffer's political change of heart?

The Orthodox Church takes moral positions but does not associate itself with any political party. It finds itself in no more agreement with Evangelical America when it comes to extreme nationalism, war, rugged individualism, or winner take all economics than it does with Liberal America on abortion or guns ect.... . Many of the right wing positions and extreme nationalism espoused by Evangelical Christianity are alien to Orthodox teaching. I
