  • or from another "how long will it take a man to finally know that too many people have died?"

  • We should be playing these songs on the radio. Now they are talking about another damned war with Iran. From another great song "When will they ever learn?"

  • Timeless!

  • Weed Out Hate is a grass roots inititative that can give peace a chance by asking each of us to take responsibiliity to symbolically remove our inner weeds, so that that humandkind can begin to perceive the possibilities of the future. The moral dilemmas that peace activists of the 60s faced, begin to resolve themselves once you begin to implode the desire to hate others into the noble intention of symbolically rooting out hatred itself.

  • Every student in jr. high or high school should have to learn these lyrics and recite them over and over til they get it. I mean really get it.

  • This is the song that Lyndon Johnson and George Bush never got.

  • We've all lost our innocence through war

  • The bank could have it all....but they would never find my Peter, Paul & Mary records. I would hide them.

  • Killing for economics, politics and the industrial-military complex. How ironic, now killing for "religion." The world is mad. Mary is in a better place.

  • Greatest anti war song so far. Still maintains the same kick after 50 years. Amazing.

  • I've been waiting for two years for this video - what an incredible piece of music!

  • Maybe the greatest song ever. Let the young wise up to the old and not go to useless wars for the profit of the George Bushes and other evil men. It has been going on ten thousand years, but must stop.

  • Terrific song!. It speaks to my view that a life not spent accomplishing something worthwhile is a wasted life. It also speaks to my view that people who have the courage to put their lives on the line in support of their convictions merit greater respect than those who just talk about it. I have great respect for both soldiers and pacifits who were willing to die for what they believed. I don't care much for those who only yelled, ran and hid out until the conflict passed.

  • absolutely wonderful!!! i remember this song when it came out and always loved it {ok i am 60} never heard this full lyric version. made me sing, cry, and of course angry at the killing. "i will never kill another" so very very powerful. so sad we lost mary travers.

  • On eof the most powerful songs ever written. I saw a version on PBS filmed in 1996 at a fold festival that was great.

  • Wow...that's right...I've been playing this for years and I have several PP&M songbooks...the third verse is not even in them! Great song! Album 1700 is an awesome album!

  • Wow - I bought Album 1700 (with this song on it) back when it came out in the sixties. I've been playing this song on guitar since then and never new it had that third verse. It makes the song even more powerful - gave me goosebumps. Thanks so much for posting this!

  • This is so powerful. Thanks for posting it.

  • Too bad the video and audio are not so good. That was as powerful a performance as I have seen.

  • Wow! Thanks for posting this gem! Never heard that third verse before.
