Dalek Anim8or Tutorial Part 1: The Skirt

I no longer use Anim8or, as I no longer use a PC.

This tutorial sort of it just a, introduction to point modeling. The rest of the dalek can be done using this method, and the basic malformation of pro-selected solids, like cylinders and spheres.

Well there are just a lot of plain tutorials on YouTube,

there are also models availiable from my website to play around with, and then there is the entire Anim8or community itself, which has loads of tutorials and instructions. I hope this helps!

i don't undrestand anim8or-I have to make a simply 3D cube for maths in this program and i can't even do that!

You can click the cube button. That generally works.

If you are doing it in maths, shouldn't there be a maths teacher telling you how to do it?

And I rather like Anim8or, it might not be the very best, but it's made by a guy in his spare time, and I happen to think it's rather good and entertaining.

That was kind of hard to watch. When I 1st started i tried to make it as accurate as i could too point by point. But as long as u have a decent eye, you can eyeball it and no1 will know the difference. And, the hardest thing on anim8or is when u tried to make ur 1st edgepoint. It was a neat trick making the cube and deleting all bit 1 point.All u have to do is go to point edit mode and hold shift and add a new edge. Anim8or is great.Its like anything else it just takes a little time and practice

I should redo the tutorial, but I don't have any time for any other activities at the moment, let alone trying to get various software to work to make a tutorial...

yeah thax im did select the egdes they whas red and some whas green and the im clickt on "fill holes" and it workt thx man. (do you like to work whis anim8tor? im do maybe we could friends?

select the egdes around the hole and click 'shift + j"

i'm new on anim8or and i've just downloaded some new series daleks (there really good i'm so glad i found the website!). i don't know much about anim8or yet but do you know how to put all the weapons,base,eyestalk and dome together to make the full dalek? thanks

Which site?

The full dalek will most likely be found in "figures".

That brings all the parts together and puts bones in so that it can be moved ect...

I suggest you read the Anim8or manual and do some of the tutorials on the site. It's really good.

you're website. i've been fiddling about now and can't seem to get the eye onto the dome. this is probably very easy for you,but 1. i'm 11 2. i'm a beginner

Don't worry,

I get this problem a LOT!

When you open it up, at the top of the screen there should be a drop down menu with "mode" on it. You go menu > figures.

Then there should be a certain amount of figures there. But I really suggest you go over the manual and tutorials. And don't worry about age. I started clay animation at the age of 10 and anim8or at the age of 13 (earlier this year, only two years older then you, two years isn't really much at all when you think about it).

You are only looking at the first object,

if you go into figures they should be all there and all rigged up so you can use them straight away!
