The Touch on the other hand is flash-based, has a larger screen, a higher resolution screen, and is at least $50 to $250 more depending on capacity. There's no Zune that competes with it.

If someone wants a media player and they have a $500 budget, I think the Touch is the best way to go. But if they have $250 and they want 80 GB of storage, the Zune is a strong contender over the iPod Classic.

Really? The Zune 80 and iPod Classic are both hard drive-based, both have the same resolution (320 x 240), both are $249 MSRP, and both are nearly the same size. They're pretty much tailor-made for comparisons. The only major difference is the screen size of the Zune being bigger.

wats to good about the zune, the touch can go on the internet, youtube, itunes, direct mail and weather, basic tasks like small notes and when jailbroken, kicks ass! so wats good about the zune?

The iPod Touch does that stuff 'cause it says it does. The Zune doesn't do those things because it doesn't claim to. The two are only similar because they play music and video, but ultimately are two very different devices.The Touch is a portable internet that also plays music and video, where the Zune is mainly meant to do music and video. They both work well for that they are, and one should think about what they want instead of blindly buying one 'cause they are a fanboy or think it's "cool."

Well, let's see here. Zune does not burn a hole in your wallet, it won't break the first time you drop it, won't break even when you haven't dropped it at all, (my friend's iTouch broke a week after he bought it) it has a better interface, can share music, has the best screen for an mp3 right now, can listen to radio, it can store pictures, you can customize it, it is thinner than the iPod Classic, and is the best mp3 in its class right now. Hmm, I wonder what is so good about the Zune 80?

Eh i dont think the wifi internet and email is a BIG deal! i mean i have that on my phone and i still think an mp3/mp4 player should remain a basic mp3/mp4 player...not saying that the wifi internet and all isint good, but for me its just too much in one apple is getting ahead of our generation...and microsoft is having trouble catching up and all but i like the zune... its basic ... yet its still has new technologies ....

just ge the iphone for all the fancy stuff .... dont get me wrong the appl itouch is amazing with its features but, does someone really need all that? all the stuff that u would Dwnload on an itouch if it gets slow and wont load... u will be givin the white appl of death ... which means you cant do anything it remains turned on, on a screen with the apple logo until your battery dies. then u have to restart it and most of the time all your apps that wou have downloaded will all be gone!

well it kinda is, this is a big step in technology for basic players, why would you want it not to be there as a feature, how is apple getting ahead? if not there pushing us forward, look at the archos five for example, second mp3 player with these features, sry guys, but the zunes falling behind.

what ever the touch is only a tiny bit thinner than the zune and the zune has like 10x more memory. and looks sleek. zune 80gb is awesome i have both ipod classic 80gb. but i love the screen on the zune it's so big and beautiful. when i carry my new zune some people call it an ipod - they say it looks like real expensive ipod. zune 80gb get it software is great for me to and the interface on zune software is prettier than itunes!
