  • The Simpsons....................

  • Michael Grants gone is a little simler to this

  • I picture John Goodman playing Big Jim in the miniseries

  • :O!

  • best book i have ever read O_O

  • i want to put a face to Big Jim, so i can hate his guts even more!!!! God i couldn't stand the man

  • Go and Watch Project Orgin Silent Hills and Pyramid cameo on PSP-3000 or movie theathres!

  • I'm reading this right now. Very interesting story.

  • And then the sequel:

THE LEATHERHEAD KILLS ALL HER FRIENDS. @_@

  • Oh man, I'm so excited to read this. My first King book.

  • Excellent book!!!

  • how long did it take you guys to finish it??

  • @rizowilson 4days i couldnt put it down except to go to sleep and to work. GREAT BOOK!!!!!

  • Simpsons did it

  • the simpsons did it first :D

  • @mschwemberger ALLRIGHT ALREADY WE GET IT!!!

  • @Myytmovies LOL U mad bro?

  • @mschwemberger well it does get annoying you know

  • ALIENS.

  • Stephen King's best book in a very long time!!!! EPIC..

  • im reading the book, it great

  • Just finished it, its great

  • This is the most frustrating book of King's I've ever read. The hero/villain ratio is horribly off-balance and the good people are incredibly stupid. Typical scenario: "Hey! I have information on you and your days of evil-doing are OVER!"

    "Oh really?" Pow! "Next!"

It's repeated over and over again. With the same asshole, no less. There was no one in this book for me to root for. In the end, I wanted them all to die.

  • @donniedarkodevotte not even barbie?

  • @ichoserapture1

Well yeah, him. Only because King leaves you no other alternative. In a book of almost 1,200 pages, it shouldn't be like that. That's why I was left so utterly screwed over and let down.

  • @donniedarkodevotte i liked rusty and chef i rooted for them through most of the book

  • @ichoserapture1

Chef? He wasn't more than a mention in the book for over 3/4 of the novel. And when he did reveal himself, he was nothing more than a cliche' of every thing that's wrong with religion. And Rusty was only a generic, watered-down version of Barbie. I LOVE Stephen King's writing. This man is a major influence for my love of horror. Under The Dome wasn't his worst novel, but it was his most epic failure, in my opinion.

  • @yeah i phrased that wrongly but i did like those characters, it was kinda sad at the end, when after getting to know a lot of these people for a long time, they just get wiped out straight away by either the explosion or the toxicity of the resultant gases. I was quite annoyed at how big jim died as well, i was expected some climactic battle invloving him and barbie, but they didnt even meet each other after barbies escape from prison.

  • @ichoserapture1 ... Thanks for all of your many "spoilers" ... you are soooo un-clever.

  • @donniedarkodevotte

Your an idiot. Your type up a stupid scenario without even relating it to one single incident in the book and you expect people to take it as the truth. Your were confused just admit it. Too much character development, naturalistic dialouge, symobolism, and beatiful Pro's for you too handle.

That's why your name is Donniedarkodevotte, fag. And that also explains your picture too.

And Donnie Darko is solely a movie to be viewed by cock gobblers.

  • @ProRanting

All this because I didn't like the book? You do know ignorance and opinion are two different things right? Ignorance, for example, would be your use of the word YOUR when you clearly should have typed the words YOU and YOU'RE . You dropped the ball on that one a few times. Not to mention you misspelled DIALOGUE, SYMBOLISM, BEAUTIFUL and PROSE. I don't take offense to your statement. In fact, I find it awesome that someone as ignorant as you can actually read a book. Well done!

  • @ProRanting

Also, I have to say I've watched Donnie Darko at least 10 times and my heterosexuality remains intact. I'm not sure which version you're watching that makes you crave cock, but it can't be the same one I'm watching. Either that, or you're fighting feelings that I just don't have. That's something YOU are going to have to work out on YOUR time when YOU'RE up to it. You should change your name to AntiSpelling, although ProRanting suits you fine as well.

  • this book is totally awsome im reading it right now im on page 59

  • only stephen came up with the idea in the 1970 something way before the simpsons did it u bozos

  • lol just like the Simpsons XD

  • though, why does the cover art and this video directly contradict the book's description of the Dome? I was confused as to how a semi-spherical dome can conform exactly to the town lines when it was explained that the dome isn't even a dome, but a column. Yet nobody seems to remember that :P

  • @samIam1497 ... it's called an "artistic rendition" ... even in the book, although the dome is described as having vertical walls straight up ... it's still called "the dome" and not the tall cylinder.

  • a great book. I've always thought of it as a more modern version of 'Animal Farm', they both have similar themes.

  • well i read almost everything by Stephen King and i can say that book is one of the greatest books i have ever read before.and it;s obvious that the book wasnt written for money.respect

  • Cool Trailer!

  • Wow, they should make a movie of that book !

  • Comment removed

  • @95Godfather WHAT? WHAT?!!!! YOU COULDN'T GET INTO IT!!!!????

IT'S ONE OF HIS BEST WORK!!!!!

  • Dome-Simpsons

    Christine-The Car

    Donnie Darko-Harvey

    WE GET IT ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!

  • I bought it yesterday. Gonna start reading it :)

  • Rusty is probably my favorite character in the book

    He RULES!!

  • @NickBFilms yehh all the time I was hoping he didn't die and HE DIDNT! :D

  • @JuancharroVlogs Well that''s great, but don't tell me, I'm still reading it. up to 602

  • @NickBFilms Oh my god so sorry bout the spoiler!!!

  • End ofc i forgat to mention that this is the best book i have ever read in my whole life :)

  • I finished the book yesterday.I must say i cried in the end.Was realy touching and was also it made me think of many things. Its a realy wonderful book full of meaning and also it wont let you take your eyes away if you start reading!I definately recomend it!!!!<3

  • This book is kinda like The Stand

    Long (1000 pages)

    Good vs Evil

Dale and his friends (Mother Abigail and the good side) vs Big Jim and his cronies (Randall Flagg and the evil side)

Except The Stand is global and Under the Dome takes place in a small town

  • This book is NOTHING like the Simpsons

Besides the whole "dome over town" thing

    What are the similarities?

  • @Myytmovies Crazy guy tries to control everything. Town's population becomes divided in opinions. Soldiers patrolling the perimeter.

  • @Myytmovies For nothing .... This book was started in 1976 .... more before!

  • Best book i've read from King

Except I've never read "The Stand"

I hear that one is his best

  • @Myytmovies i'm reading it now and wow...i've read "the Dome" before and i think like you. Both books are wonderful.Go quetly.

  • Big Jim, Junior, and Chief Randolph are such dicks

You just want to jump in the book and sock them in the groin

  • This book was so good.

Of course, it's better the first time around, than the second.

The first, you get emotionally evolved and all with the foreshadowing and the "what's happening here?" thing. The second time around, you know what's going on and it's not as enjoyable.

  • @teenroses i think it's obvious.

  • @dnlrsn9 In some books, yes.

    In all books, no.

  • Small towns... TOTALLY SCARY!

  • great book..no other words to say just read it and feel the hand of the "master king".

  • i finished this book back last summer. still one of my favorites. its utterly incredible in every since of the word.

  • its like the simpsons movie!!!

  • @raffyraf1098 Hahaha I thought the same x)

  • @raffyraf1098 no its not

  • @raffyraf1098 Can't get anything past you.

  • I'm reading it and it's my favourite book of Stephen King since The Stand. Is a film projected?

  • I'm currently on page 329 and I can not put the book aside. Dizzying plot startling figures as Barbara Deal Big Jim Rennie. And by describing the town of Chester miles magnificent landscapes, claustrophobic atmosphere that threatens to Stephen King writes in all that convincing.

For a moment I thought I was a resident of the town of Chester miles

  • @yosef208.if you want to see what big jim rennie and dale barbara look like, check for neil warnock on your tube for rennie, and william sadler for dale barbara.tell me what you think.

  • THIS BOOK NEEDS TO BE A MOVIE!!

  • @TomoexNanami.each time i read a king s book,i visualize what its characters might look like.i have a guy in mine as big rennie, his name is neil warnock,he s a soccer manager.type:"neil warnock interview" on you tube to see the face i put on big rennie and tell me what you think.

  • I think there are 3000+ people in Chester's Mill

  • @SuperFireFury Really?! I didn't know... I read the book and I'm sure Spilberg will do an amazing job directing it!

  • Book. This book needs a movie, nuff said.

  • Comment removed

  • The Simpsons are in a Stephen King work. LOL!

  • @compsciguy no they aren't

  • i hope he makes a film version from the book, that would be cool if he did

  • do u think jim rennie survived at the end ?? or was dragged back in by junior ??

  • @charmingman87 tough call....but i would have to say did not survive one way or another.....

  • @charmingman87 what are you talking about? junior died at least 200 pages before the explosion? juniors call to his dead was one from the dead i thought that much was obvious

  • AMAZING! if they decide to make this movie im gonna audition for it i just got the book and im gonna start reading it it would be soo cool if i got to get in this movie!

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

  • I'm almost done with the book and the's nowhere in it where the population decreases like that.

  • @jessehardy Just wait.

  • @TheAngryIntellectual Pardon my ignorance, haha. I just finished it and I feel like a fool now.

  • i just saw an episode of the simpsons where they referenced this book. i wont spoil it the episode is called: The Fool Monty. its on hulu right now.

  • This book is the best book I have ever read <3

  • Carter Thibodeau is such a badass! Also Junior Rennie, theyre the best villain!

  • the book is good, to many pages for me i guess but i loved some part where the "action" happends and all parts with Barbie and his opppsites are nice.

    7/10

  • The dome is up ... Okatron

  • @sockembopers12. What is the stand about? I heard it was good but iv never read it. Is it horror?

  • IMDb says it's gonna be a series!!!!

  • i simply love this book, which is odd given that I havent read it yet

  • under the dome like the simpsons movie

  • @ericfoote129 pretty much i guess. only this idea came first being that King started work on this book in the late 70's.

  • @MrMatto91 the ideas start this year

  • @ericfoote129 NO. IT. IS. NOT!!

  • @ericfoote129 Correction: The Simpsons Movie is like Under The Dome

  • Comment removed

  • @Tbart2010 Under the Dome is way better tho

  • im finally starting reading this book and im alrightly starting to love it.

  • The Stand is still the best thing he has ever written in my estimation. Under the Dome comes pretty close, as does Duma Key.

  • Stephen King's a legend.

But if you want to try reading the world's scariest short story... follow me.

  • i'm now reading the book, my dad gave it to me :) he knows i love Stephen King and thanks to him, i already read like ten of his books. i'm only 15, but i LOVE them! xD Stephen King is absolutely a genius.

  • Twilight sucks ass!!!!!!!!

    And their fucking fans too

  • Just red it, I'm only 13, but this is one of Stephen Kings best books, and I've red, Misery (epic), christine (legend), it (Soooo good) and know under the dome (best yet). Next I wana read The Stand

  • @ThRealityDysfunction: Read The Stand immediately. I agree that Under The Dome was very good, but it was only entertainment. The Stand, however, will change your life. Even if you love Stephen King now, you will never be able to look at him the same way again.

  • do u think jim rennie survived at the end ?? or was dragged back in by junior ?? read the shining (brilliant)

  • For me, three the best novels of SK are "The Stand", "The Dead Zone" and "Under the Dome".

Phil "The Cook" Bushey is a masterpeace.

  • finished it. 6/10...

  • Im reading..well listening to the book on tape as I speak. Too many simularities to the simpson movie. Big invisible dome, Conspiracy, fight for power, etc. Im thinking its what happened when the simpsons escaped

  • SpeCulaTionS101, interesting to know. Certainly SK wasn't this first guy to imagined domed cities. I look forward to reading it once life grants me a few moments!

  • Wasn't this the plot of The Simpson's movie?

  • @DarthJuris: Stephen King originally thought of this idea in 1976, but, after trying to write it and failing miserably, he gave up and switched his attention to "The Stand". He just happened to decide to try this idea again at about the worst possible time (he wasn't even aware of The Simpsons movie). He says that if he had known, he would probably have never written it.

  • @DarthJuris No

  • Crazy book, I'm loving it. This trailer is awesome too.

  • I haven't finished yet, but i hate it every time when junior says 'baaaarbie'.

Hope he dies in the end......;-)

  • How much time does is take to read it? I mean for an average reader

  • @KorupptReaper I think so

  • Simpsons the movie, anyone ?

  • @polyarmid I don't think so. Stephen King is a genius and comparing this masterpiece to a lousy movie doesn't even make any sense...

  • @polyarmid Okay, man. We get it. And it only took about 80 million times of hearing that exact same comparison being made. Also, for the record, he had this idea since '76.

  • @PerversionsOfNature THANK YOU!! I'm sick of it too. Is there any similarities between the SM and UTD? Just the Dome part. Is the movie better than the book? NO!!!

  • @polyarmid ALL RIGHT ALREADY!!

  • favourite book of all time... took me a week to read it.... truly epic

    Baaaarbie…

  • This is my favorite book, if you havn't read it, you need to. It's just that good. The whole time you picture what's going on as if it were a movie in your head. I can't wait for the movie to come out. And has been announced that this is being made, and so is the gunslinger, 2 books I can not wait to see in movies. And if you doubt they will be good, King denied the making of movies for them for a long time until he found the right person to portray the book correctly

  • Thanks ScribnerMarketing:):):) Of course for the Under the Dome trailer. This guy writes from his "Heart" too! A woman describes this new book called: "The Masseur" at katieblueskiesnow She reads from the book and explains it too.

  • junior rennie is the man

  • Never seen a more perfect comercial, perfectly explains what the book is about in 30 simple seconds

  • Hwy haven't I read this? Because the book stores here suck!

  • This book made me weep near the end.

  • book trailer?? new to me

  • This book redeems him for Lisey's Story and Just After Sunset.

  • @jon07261995 he wasn't going to call this book The Cannibals, that was an entirely different story he had in mind. King said himself that he had 2 different attempts (one being The Cannibals) which both utilize the same idea of people being trapped under a dome and how they would react. He decided to do a dead straight novel and wrote Under the Dome. The Cannibals was a horror story idea which he scrapped in favour of the one in question.

  • I loved this book :D, just a little confused why he was about to call it "The Cannibals"

  • @88022369 i almost died when i read that. he hates twilight and loves harry potter. way to go steve!

  • @ACWWfreakoid And for good reasons, too! He doesn't just hate Twilight because Twilight is uh...stupid, but he hates it because he thinks Stephenie Meyer is a bad writer! haha, owned

  • @unrealityproduction

Stephenie Meyer has an English Literature degree, so she knows how to do brilliant prose. Stephen is just upset that his name is in Stephenie's name. LOL! You can't have Stephenie without Stephen!

  • @compsciguy ohhh right! because Stephen King is jealous of the four Twilight books and the movies with actors that are TOTALLY as big as Jack Nicholson, or Tom Hanks, or Tim Curry, or Morgan Freeman, Kathy Bates, etc etc etc. Hmmm...Stephenie Meyer has sold 116 million copies. Stephen King has sold over 350 million. I personally respect Stephenie Meyer, especially for her success and because she is smart for writing the books that her readers want to read, but I am a dedicated King fan.

  • @compsciguy Are you kidding each and everyone of us by saying that Stephenie Meyer is better than Stephen King ?

my fucking god, everybody knows that Twilight it is just another romantic story where the lovers can't be togheter because of their families and shit like that, they are everywhere since Romeo and Juliet.

Start reading good stories and stop being an ignorant, look for some statistics before compairing 350 million copies to just 116 million of them

and Leve Lady Ga-Ga alone! T__T

    Bitch.

  • @ACWWfreakoid he's both a friend and fan of JK Rowling as well.

  • @ACWWfreakoid If Stephen King told Stephenie Meyer that her writing is horrible, she needs to get down on her knees and beg for him to teach her the great ways of the pen! lol

  • Who's going to play Big Jim and Junior? I can hardly wait to find out. As for the character of "Thurston" the "hippie," I would like that to none other than Stephen King himself.

  • @Linguist1967 I want John Goodman as Big JIm, and Ryan Kwanten as Junior.

  • @jayeagar Yeah. I could see that.

  • when does it come out?

  • I'm on page 958 right now and haven't been dissapointed yet. Great stuff

  • I'm only in the first 80 pages right now (OMG 1,046 pages!) but this is one of the most incredible novels I've ever read it has all of King's best attributes, and more that have been revealed! He also makes the book pretty easy-to-understand, unlike his normal story! I have a feeling that this novel is going to be a best seller for a long time.

    KING IS KING!

  • this book was amazing you HAVE to read it and they should\shouldn't make a movie

  • This bookshop is amazing....i guise that a series could be better than a movie.......let's see

  • are they going to make a movie out of this?

  • wat the fuck is this book about?????????! spoil it to me

  • @BlestTheJediThug I'm only gonna say that a small corn-field town gets trapped under a giant dome set by the govt.

    DUH

  • @AnAmericanComposer your wrong its *spoiler Alert* aliens

  • Best King book ever!

  • @johnnyrock30 common... is good but best king book ever???

  • Might be the best book I've ever read

  • I haven't read this book yet. I've been thinking about it. :d

It's kinda like "Gone" by Michael Grant.

  • Absolutely brilliant book

  • Awesome preview I love this book, I am still reading the beggining of the book.

  • HE JUST STOLE THE CONCEPT FROM MICHAEL GRANTS "GONE" SERIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE DID A REVIEW ON THE FIRST BOOK SAYING "this is great fiction i love these books" AND NOW HE HAS THE SAME BOOK ONLY WITH ADULTS AND A GLASS DOME WHAT IS HIS PROBLEM

  • @justafidemyself

there are differences im sure besides those..and think he published the book after the Simpsons Movie came out..peopl say he stole the concept from that and in an interview he said he started writing this in the 1970's i believe..waay before the simpsons movie..who really knows..he might not have stole from the Gone series by Michael Grants, but yet he might have..who knows

  • i love this book :)

  • the book?

Thats my relationship with Under The Dome and Insomnia hahah.

I'll get both along with Black House eventually lol.

  • I think Im going to pick this book up (when I've got the money, that is.) have you ever seen a book that you think "Yep, another retarded one." but everytime you go to the book store again, you ALWAYS look over at...

  • Took me a little over a week to read this book. Lovvvveeedd it :D

  • @ledzeppelinloverx91 Daymmm You must read fast this book is huge; yet after 3 days I am in half. lol, gotta love Stephen, he hooks ya!

  • @88022369: LOL Yeah! "Stephanie Meyer? You read this shit?" (or something along those lines).

  • @SpeCulaTionS101 "Don't you know Harry Potter fuckin' rules?"

  • @88022369: But then again, when you think about it, their deaths were a really important part of the story. No death = no explosion. Still, Chef was a badass, and Andy was a wimp turned badass, all thanks to meth. LOL

  • reading it for the second time, have to admit I bloody love it

  • Wow this looks so great. I'm going to read it realllyyy soon.

  • im 12 years old and it took me 6 weeks to read. it was worth it

  • i LOVED this book :)

  • I read The Stand and My friend read Under the Dome so we swoped them..... Yeah I prefer The Stand...
