I'd say its not magnetic but suction in the palm area.

However, there was a video that I can't find at the moment that showed a weird event that was caught on camera. It involved a guy that was in an accident and the EMS were treating him and a few metal objects literally flew towards him while he was sitting on the stretcher in the ambulance. The EMS guy was both shocked and baffled at what happened. That I think was probably a real freak event.
