  • Yo young you are absolutely incorrect. Original writing by Trouble Funk. NYC PHILLY and NO WHERW else had a clue. Yes i'm over 45 so hit me with your so called original Rap Classic from this.

  • You can say this is Go-Go and it's all good, but this song was a Rap classic in Clubs up and down the East Coast before Go-Go even had a name outside of D.C.! You need to be at least 45 years old before you try to start categorizing this song. This was the D.C. Area's first contribution to the Rap Genre back when N.Y.C. had a virtual stranglehold on Rap releases, and believe me, this record held its own!

  • D Linton, said this was his shitz, at the house partys and redlight specials...( SHAKE THAT THING)

  • @goodma43 ... Would that be Manager Elite, Donnie Linton? GREAT MAN indeed.. RIP. ... If not.. my bad!

  • I FOUND IT. GREAT HOUSE PARTY JAM.....I'M SO SERIOUS 'BOUT THIS. I LIKE THE BACKGROUND MUSIC. D I.

  • I love how all the gogo heads were quick to jump in and say this wasn't hip hop lls.

Man i do love my DMV people and gogo lovers :)

  • SNOOP D.OG.G.G.'s "PUMPU PUMP" I GUESS.

  • Not old school rap fellas, Washington Go-Go. Trouble were sampled by the old school rap mob though...example see "Lets Get Small" used by BDP in Criminal Minded.....and of course as already mentioned in the greatest graff docu of all time Style Wars.

  • @rob191270 realize that it's go-go, but go-go tends to get heaped into the rap category every now n then. Especially this one because the y pulled it off SO-WELL

Beastie Boys snatched a few samples as well

  • THIS OLD SCHOOL JAM STOPS AT 6:30, BUT I STILL BELIEVE THIS IS THE BEST UPLOAD OF TROUBLE FUNK'S, PUMP ME UP!!! THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN OSAMMA1

  • THROW YOUR FIST IN THE AIR..PUMP YOUR FIST LIKE YOU JUST DON'T CARE AND IF YOU APPRECIATE OSAMMA1 UPLOADING THIS SONG. SAY OH YEAH! PUMP, PUMP, PUMP PUMP OSAMMA1 UP..!!! THANK YOU, FROM ALL OF US GO-GO MUSIC FANS EVERYWHERE!!!, AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO JUST DON'T KNOW....THIS IS NOT RAP...THIS IS GO-GO...!!! MUSIC IS THE ONE AND ONLY UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE IN GOD'S VAST UNIVERSE...SO DON'T HATE JUST APPRECIATE..LISTEN AND ENJOY WHAT YOU LIKE AND...PUMP..PUMP..PUMP..PUMP IT UP..!!

  • Great track! Coldcut played this once at the Big Chill festival in 1997.

  • @mitsabishi5 I envy you

  • Trouble Funk is "Go-Go" not old school Rap...

  • Huh? Whay are you lot on about?

This isn't rap 'old school' or not.

    It's Go-go.

  • I love old school rap. It's one of the most entertaining music styles to listen to. I absolutely hate current rap though, it's like all they sing about is sex, drugs, money, and how great they are.

  • NAS sucks now

  • would agree,amazing live

  • good on you just got served :P

  • Great f'n song

  • word son we need da 80's bac but im bring it bac

  • Great Rap music. Man, if all these Crap music and Classic Rock fans would look further than fags like Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne, & 50 Cent, they would know that Rap music is actually a great music.

  • umm... thats not true at all

  • Actually, it is true. If you don't believe me, listen to umm... IDK, maybe PUBLIC ENEMY, NAS, WU-TANG CLAN, ICE CUBE, KRS-ONE, NWA, NOTORIOUS BIG. And last, but not least TUPAC. And if you listen to these guys and you still don't think that Rap is great music, then it's your lost. Don't get me wrong, I listen to all type of music, including metal. But don't rule out one genre and think it's not great because good music is good music.

  • What he means is rap music has always sampled many genres thereby proving it's self a great music.

  • so well said!

  • @RateDTD exactly all

  • @RateDTD Crap Music Fans are being forced to listen crappy stuff like what you have mentioned...The labels don't care anyway.

  • @BJSteigner It's not that fucking good! Compared to Parliament and Funkadelic this stuff is watered down...and 9:50 of the same damned beat is not very innovative in my opinion. Maybe hip-hop evolved from this but it didn't come soon enough lol

  • @DarkMedievalTimes1 You could be right...and I have George Clinton's Parliament Funkadelic type music though.

  • @BJSteigner Thanks dude, P-Funk is da bomb

  • @DarkMedievalTimes1 I wanted to ask everyone on here a question. Why are these new breeds losing focus on real music? If you take a good look at the charts, you will see my crap artist with a corporate push....This is where greed takes over.

  • @RateDTD Whats with the hate? Music changes over time, its called evolution. there is no formula with which you can prove one style of rap is better than another. Its subjective and arbitrary.

Now fuck off and listen to what you like.

  • @spacecowboy95 I can undertand that the music has evolved, which is a good thing. But just because the music has to change, does not mean the music has to be bad like Lil Wayne. Hell, Rap music changed from the early 80s to the late 80s and it was still great music. I'm not saying there is no good Rap music today because I'm pretty sure there is, but you don't hear that on today's radio. All of you hear is the worst of the worst. So why won't you fuck off and listen to good music.

  • @RateDTD

Being from Alexandria, Va, considered a suburb of Wash, D.C., we call this genre of music Go-Go, not Rap or Hip Hop. Even though they did rap on here it's still Go- Go music. They would perform with Chuck Brown( The Godfather of Go-Go ), The Junkyard Band, E.U., Rare Essence and others. It's a call and response music as well. Just thought I'd let you know

  • @RateDTD

  • Hell yes...Style Wars kicks ass!!

  • DC Proper GoGo. Glad a new generation can hear the authentic. 'All we wanna see is your body work...' Funk it on up.

  • STYLE WARS !!!! ( if you know what I'm talking about, then you know what's up !!!! )

now this is some funk !!!...Hip-hop heads of today could learn a lot from this...If I was a member of these early groups that helped pioneer RAP, then I would be shaking my head in disappointment looking at what the music has become today....sure there's some innovative & unique stuff that still comes out, but a large percentage is garbage singing about nothing...

  • u have to be in shape to dance to this

  • Go Go Yo!

  • at it best...
