Ni Mozart ni Haydn pudieron oír esta preciosa obra, aunque supongo que habría merecido su aprobación, por lo menos (y su admiración, por lo más); pero Beethoven y Schubert sí pudieron oírla; al menos ambos estaban vivos cuando Arriaga la escribió. No sé si llegaron a oírla. Habría sido interesante…

Qué hermosa música. Cada movimiento supera la belleza del precedente, por insuperable que pareciera. Y, además, se nota que lo estáis pasando estupendamente (no me extraña, pues una de las mayores alegrías que puede haber en la vida es tocar una obra como ésa, y tocarla así de bien). Recibid un saludo emocionado y mis mejores deseos de grandes éxitos y de muchas cosas buenas para este año que estamos a punto de estrenar.

This is one of the finest string quartets in the world, without question. I have been playing and replaying the CuartetoQuiroga's videos for the past two days since I only happened upon them while searching for music by Senor Arriaga. Magnificent work!
