  • gabriel is better than his music

  • Tony is KING!

  • yea tony's the man. i saw him with his own band in this tiny little place a few years back. his power stance was so intimidating i actually felt afraid more than once. not to mention his bass distortion probably registers as low level seismic activity.

  • Again, I told another douche bag, it's 1983, it's VHS, it's a bootleg. Hell-fucking-lo?

  • Shitty sound quality if I've ever heard such a thing.

  • He stole Ian Anderson's Idea about the white suit from the 1980 A tour!

  • @underwwraps2 I heard he was influenced by Garry Newman in terms of image around this time

  • @underwwraps2 hahaha =-) "A" What an album!!!

  • @underwwraps2 Then Don Johnson stole it from both of them for his role in Miami Vice.

  • I agree tht "On The Air" is a great song by PETER GABRIEL.

The first track of his second albun is fantastic.

    Thank you

  • one of his best songs. I don't know why verizon or nextel hasn't picked this up as a marketing tool... it's perfect. then you could go into "and through the wire" to com plete the sale. i have seen him 6 times in concert and i wonder why he doesn't go from "talk to me" to this song... I guess cuz it's an older song and people won't know it??? help me out here

  • I don't think the energy of 'talk to me' would flow into this track. 'Come talk to me' is too emotional. Too draining. the audience would need a mid-tempo buffer before hitting them with On the Air. ...in my opinion :)

  • @missfits09 Probably because Gabriel's agents are notoriously tough to deal with. I recently heard an interview with Charles Ferguson, the director of "Inside Job", and he said it was murder negotiating the use of "Big Time" for the opening song of the movie. I'm guessing it's not Gabriel himself who is the cheapo, but his agents ;) I'd hope that, anyway.

  • I saw the early part of the tour at the Music Hall in Houston on December 11, 1982 when PG wore the black and gray "martial arts" costume. He opened with Rhythm of the Heat by walking from the lobby down one of the aisles to the stage, with each band member pounding on drums strapped to themselves. He got to the stage and climbed the ladder to the platform above the drums and let out the beginning wail of the song.

  • sounds awesome! I love Peter' sense of drama! Somewhere I'd seen a snippet of him swinging like Tarzan on a rope over this distinguished looking crowd. Like an awards show or something. Anybody know where I can find that?

  • Great . i saw the show in frankfurt. i love how he starts with "don't´you give me your sacred

milk boys." (verse 3) then remembers the words to the first verse. Priceless.More please.

  • I went to this concert in Liverpool September 1983.. As a teenager.. Remember couldn't get a ticket and ended up getting in when someone opened an exit door.

Great concert,,, Met Peter after this show also.. all for Free!!

  • I'm sorry, no, I forgot, that isn't the Rael makeup...it's...the Plays Live-era appearance that he took.

  • Awesome performance. It would be killer if PG still looked like that. :(

Also, is he wearing his Rael makeup there? Am I just seeing things? It looks like he's wearing SOME KIND of makeup...

  • Let us not forget the killer synth work that Larry Fast did with Gabriel. It's actually my favorite era. You should check out his website and his "Synergy" discs. Very inventive!

  • is that the Plays Live Era? Fantasctic!!!

  • No,it's not easy making real friends.

  • 3rd row san francisco 1980 last tune..on the air...Gabriel jumps from the stage on us my buddy Curtis taking pics of it. Remember that Curt?

  • This is really crazy stuff. I was 3 years old baby pulling wheely duck in the garden. I like that. Bravo guys.

  • Killer bass work from Tony Levin...

  • Great performance! Jumpsuit - not so great.

  • Merci Ikh pour cette vidéo ! :D

  • Pas de quoi! Y'en a d'autre si tu veux! ;)
