Stochelo would slap all of you for comparing him to Bireli. NOBODY on this earth is as good as Bireli. He is THE GENIUS of our times and since mozart never has there been anyone even close except django
I saw him several times hundred years ago as a little boy 11, 12, 13 years old. even then he was a great virtuoso, very classical but impressing. But now...wow! By the way he got more hair!
i do care about the music, which is why i watched the performance? but you'd think that if people took their time to go to their performance that they'd want to look nice as well??? its like going to a wedding in a t-shirt and jeans. which only my elatives in southern ohio and arkansas do
HA! How ironic! I was thinking the same thing about clueless douchebags who have nothing better to do but make ridiculous comments on YOUTUBE.And yes,ASSHOLE, Im referring to YOU !!!!
@TLPnega No contest; I hero worshiped Stochelo for a long time until I finally realized what I was doing. Remarkable tone, but the man sadly repeats the same stuff ALL the time!
@pencap23 agreed however the man really can improvise as proven by many of his random jam sessions with various other guitarists, including bireli. it's when he's on stage that it seems like he recycles the same licks that he's been playin for years. there are however, specific phrases (licks, whatever you want to clal them) that can be attributed to stochelo only.
yeah! i love tis song. minor swing is the first django song i learned. it^s a perfect song to get closer to gypsy jazz on guitar. the best django song ever, even if anybody can play it or along it. thanks for posting this beautiful version.
H! Theres the sound that swings...Birelli backed up by Hono winterstein on rhythm guitar and Diego Imbert on double bass. Frank Wolf provides the reed wind effects.
How could anyone listen to this and not be toe tapping??
Bireli must have a super power like the guys on Heroes. His special power is to take all the musical talent from half the world, he didnt leave any for me :[ Bireli is king.
Lagrene is so good! His technique is incredible and so is his phrasing.
