  • It cost 2/6. Trust me I know

  • Ahhhh, it's only just occurred to me to clock skidoo on this

Bliss...cabaret Voltaire and nothing in London cept throbbing gristle..., or was the temple ov psychick youth around already.

    Ignorant 57 yeAr old

  • ...and Roger Waters didn't invent chords. Nice try though. The problem isn't sampled music. It's when the proper credit wasn't given to the sampled piece of music.

  • It might have copied the bass, but it aint a sample.

  • is there a break where the slap bass is SOLO? i'd like to know where block rockin' beats uses a sample from

  • If corporate America stops raping the world, it will be because it has finished.

  • @DaveTheJackal really...no it will be because America is being raped by it's own banking system.

  • 23 skidoo I remember this...i guess this is a band with plenty of industrial "cred" and still sounds good

  • Sketch from Lynx on bass.

    Aswad horn section.

GENIUS record. Years ahead of its time.

  • this song borrows heavily from pink floyd "let there be more light"

  • sounds like an eno production ...

  • Ice-T also sampled it for "Peel Their Caps Back" in 1989.

  • Have a listen. Really. Yes, it sounds like the bassline loop from Block Rockin' Beats. But crucially it isn't. It just sounds like it. Hence there's no credit on the album. Because they didn't sample it. It just sounds similar. Think we can close the book on this one.

  • @PaulSkinbackForever um...just throwing this out there...but it actually is the loop in block rockin beats, even the band says it is, try gettin it right next time before u go trying to act like you know anything

  • @miraclemontes here was a hysterical clip of the comical bros getting interviewed on mtv and suddenly the presenter put this on .one of them put his head in his hands and the other leapt up and grabbed the needle off the record and then started saying how 23 skidoo sampled a house record in their ronin incarnation.....though they obviously started off block rockin beats with a sample of coup ,they then got it replayed, changed 2 notes and Skidoo never got a penny

  • @MrFritz23 Thieving fuckers!! They should be sued for that.

  • got any early brilliant?

  • yea baby.

  • catstarman 1 I didn't. I had some friends who lived there 81-82 (or3..) We were all at PNL.

  • great song!

  • I still have a live cassette of a 23 Skidoo performance in Aorta, Amsterdam in 1985 or 1986. I still have to digitalize it. Music they have never put on record, as far as I know. There 2000 come back, was short and the music unexpected, but I'm very fond of that album. Try to get it. With Pharao Sanders and other guest artists. There's something special about this group.

  • both this n block rockin' kick arse

  • Corporate America raping the world soon it will end.

  • @dudefromtherock

Yes indeed .. soon it will be Corporate China taking over the role :)

  • @dudefromtherock Commie fag.

  • @BootyFister America is finally getting what it deserves, enjoy the ride as your country circles the toilet bowl.

  • @dudefromtherock That's just like your opinion, man.

  • @dudefromtherock Never place the words Corporate and America in the same sentence for you should know, being the educated person you are, that corporations have no allegiance to any one country. So, please, remember the people.

  • 8J

    Great name.

  • 23 SKIDOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

    YES!!!

  • Does anyone rember the squats on Pentonville Road? Why do I associate them with 23 Sk?

  • Who are you....and when did you squat there?

  • did u guys play with a dude called gaz evans back in 80s?

  • My copy of "dig your own hole "dosent credit this song but its obviously sampled on "block rockin beats".What gives?

  • I knew I heard it before somewhere

  • @darkdubh The Chems were "found out" and have since given credit.

  • @darkdubh

Pink Floyd did it before 23 Skidoo. If anyone deserves credit, it's Roger Waters.

  • @darkdubh cause it's the other way around

  • Gi, fuck youuuuuuuuu

  • can anyone remember a peel session they did? "drug taking effect" loop thru one track. they was years ahead. thx
