Resident Evil Director's Cut is a brilliant game! I remember my cousin having it and we both played it at Halloween last year and it was a right laugh! Really enjoyed it, and to get it at 3 quid is not bad either. A real bargain... great vid man!

@darrenwalshsock The carboot has changed a lot with the new set of sellers coming in, it's mostly all dealers now who trot out the same tat every week, and I've noticed more resellers doing the rounds as well, there was a husband and wife team like your nemeses!

Cheers dude. I've heard of a few people finding Azure Dreams in Gamestation for peanuts and I couldn't bank on that happening, taking a punt on Amazon seemed like the next best thing. It's an interesting game, a nice mix of genres.
Cool pickups Owen, Azure Dreams was a definite bargain - The OZ game looks intresting, may have to check that out. Damn, wished I had time & visit the car boots while I was there, but the ones I used to go are sadly no longer there anymore :( Portobello market is the only one nearest to me, but thats not really a boot sale - sometimes you will find something, most of my tabletop games were bought there. Cool Dodonpachi, just bought my copy from play.com for £26 so you got a better deal :)
@1msx2go Cheers Richard. Yeah, I think Azure Dreams only hung around that long because there wasn't a picture and the info was a bit sparse, I can't deny I got lucky though. Oz occupies the ground between games like DMC and Dynasty Warriors, it has a greater scale than DMC without having the sophistication. It's still worthwhile though, and I'm interested why it didn't make it to the US.
I've always wanted to take a look at Portobello, if it's got tabletops then I definitely will.

Great additions :) Personal fave is marvel vs capcom, great game to have a few bouts on & the price was stunning, in fact I've just checked the bay as I think I have a spare copy knocking about & its fetching pretty good money, I deffo picked up a ps1 fighter for £6.99 from a game shop called Ninja games 2mths ago that Ninjabearhug visited in a vlog vid, if it was marvel vs capcom £6.99 was a bloody good price for a dedicated game emporium, I know the case was knacked but still not bad :)

Yeah, I've had a good go on MvC and I've really enjoyed it, as far as I can see a lot of the criticisms came from what had been removed from the Arcade version such as a third fighter, or just giving your second fighter a limited support role. I don't have much of a frame of reference though which is lucky. £6.99?! That's a cracking price, especially from a game shop. I saw Ninjabearhugs vlog and Ninja Games looks brilliant, I could do with one around here

I've got my Xbox permanently hooked up now so I'll give XIII a bash tomorrow, I like how they tried to mix it up with the art style, I can get bored of 'realism'.

That's weird you say that about Tekken, I usually have troubles with the whole game! I can remember fighting Paul with King on about bout six of Tekken 3 and being there for hours, and then eventually squeezing through and then bitch slapping Ogre first time. No skill and button bashing is key

I can't get enough of Amazon marketplace now, I've never bothered before but the prices beat ebay hands down. It was a bit tense with Azure Dreams though, it felt like there should be a catch, maybe it was the blob on the manual, it looks like HP Sauce.

Another excellent group of games there Owen, fantastic prices on MvC and Resident Evil Director's Cut. Never heard of Azure Dreams though, I'm guessing its some kind of RPG? XIII is a pretty good game but it never really impressed me enough to suck me in. Well made though and reasonably enjoyable.
@CC10Gaming Thanks Ben. I can't complain about what I paid for the games, I had to travel to a pretty dicey area when I bought MvC though so finding it made running the gauntlet of shady characters worth it.
Yeah, Azure Dreams is part real time RPG, part Monster Rancher and part Sim City, I've not tried it yet to see how it all works but if nothing else it sounds interesting.
I've never been in a hurry to buy XIII, there are copies everywhere, I like the different approach though

Marvel vs Capcom for 1.95 sounds a shweeet deal. Don't get me wrong, i'm rubbish at beat em' ups but I do enjoy them. Resident Evil Director's Cut for a similar amount is another bargain. Can't say i'd ever heard of Azure Dreams but after a quick scoot around ebay.com it appears to be a regular fetcher of $30 which is around the 22 quid mark.
@bluetonic78 Cheers Sonny, I've had it with seeing the same old paltry offerings from my local charity outlets so I decided to cast my net wider, it meant getting on a bus to a decidedly sketchy area but finding MvC made it worthwhile. I'll keep going back until I get mugged and then I move on to pastures new. I'm the same with beat em'ups by the way.

2 indoor car boots here in Glasgow, Blochairn is massive its set in the old Fruit Market north side of town, Polmadie is indoor too but im unsure if either of them have outdoor sections too.
@KieranD212 I could do with having some indoor sales around here, it's good when you don't have to check the weather when you get up at 6am. This time of year there are no other options for carboot dealers other than this small local one, there's room to expand as well so maybe it could become more permanent.

I suppose the solution would be to finally fix the bloody light but I've always preferred natural light, so it's going to be a race against time or nothing, especially at this time of year.

And the new layout looks like MySpace or something from 2008 - every trick from the contemporary design bag has been pulled out, from button fading to inverted lines... if this was 1998, they would be using blinking words and gifs of flames.

Yeah, I've always liked XIII's cell shaded comic book stylings, it makes a nice change from the norm and at least it's not another game going for 100% realism and not achieving it. The Resi. Evil Directors Cut gives you more camera angles and character graphics, and new difficulty settings. There's a Resi. 2 CD demo included as well.
I've forgotten how long the light in the room has been 'non-functioning', years I think. I'll try a work lamp for next time.

azure dreams for 15 quid is a good deal, i paid $55 all in for my copy (really good condition tho) keep in mind that the $'s were at par at the time so i really got screwed when i could have drove over the border and got it for $20 at probably the first game store i walk into in syracuse...
@roleplayerthegamer That's not a problem. It's strange because the video didn't look too different to how they normally do at the beginning, then the light started going! My videos always look darker uploaded anyway but I thought I could just about get away with it. I've got a work lamp which would do the job but I'd be blinded in the process, I'll give it a shot next time though.

even in the dark your camera is decent quality tho so it doesnt really matter. it doesnt take much reduction in light at all in my place with my camera for it to come out lookin rough.
@shenmueso The light 'hasn't worked' for longer than I've been making my videos, if I'm honest I've forgotten if it's broken or if it's just the bulb. I'm usually quite efficient at changing bulbs though, takes me about a week or so on average, so I'm guessing the latter is the case. I do have a work lamp if I don't mind being blinded though.
My recordings always look darker once they're uploaded, I thought that I might be able to get away with it while I was filming.... but alas no.

@kazxena Cheers. I had to navigate a pretty sketchy area when I bought Marvel vs Capcom, I got tired of the same old tat in my regular charity shop haunts and finding that made it worth having to run the ne'er do well gauntlet.
I can't get enough of Amazon marketplace now, I've never bothered before but the prices beat ebay hands down. It was a bit tense with Azure Dreams though, it felt like there should be a catch, maybe it was the blob on the manual, it looks like HP Sauce.

@ash81b4u I could bang on for hours about 'buzz' words, they seem to come out of nowhere as well, as if we're supposed to believe that they weren't just invented by some marketing bod with something to sell. 'Ep' instead of episode is another one, who's too lazy that they can't say episode?!
Cheers mate. Yeah it was a nice surprise to see MvC on the shelf, I can't complain. It looks like most of the criticism was about it not measuring up to the Arcade version, it's still good fun tho.

Another excellent group of games there Owen, fantastic prices on MvC and Resident Evil Director's Cut. Never heard of Azure Dreams though, I'm guessing its some kind of RPG? XIII is a pretty good game but it never really impressed me enough to suck me in. Well made though and reasonably enjoyable.

@CC10Gaming Thanks Ben. I can't complain about what I paid for the games, I had to travel to a pretty dicey area when I bought MvC though so finding it made running the gauntlet of shady characters worth it.
Yeah, Azure Dreams is part real time RPG, part Monster Rancher and part Sim City, I've not tried it yet to see how it all works but if nothing else it sounds interesting.
I've never been in a hurry to buy XIII, there are copies everywhere, I like the different approach though

Marvel vs Capcom for 1.95 sounds a shweeet deal. Don't get me wrong, i'm rubbish at beat em' ups but I do enjoy them. Resident Evil Director's Cut for a similar amount is another bargain. Can't say i'd ever heard of Azure Dreams but after a quick scoot around ebay.com it appears to be a regular fetcher of $30 which is around the 22 quid mark.

@bluetonic78 Cheers Sonny, I've had it with seeing the same old paltry offerings from my local charity outlets so I decided to cast my net wider, it meant getting on a bus to a decidedly sketchy area but finding MvC made it worthwhile. I'll keep going back until I get mugged and then I move on to pastures new. I'm the same with beat em'ups by the way.

@Snestastic Yep, just dark! ha ha I knew the light was going but it did really creep up on me, I always forget how quickly the sun goes down. And my videos always upload slightly darker as well. I suppose the solution would be to finally fix the bloody light but I've always preferred natural light, so it's going to be a race against time or nothing, especially at this time of year.

I was recently made aware of the word "jelly" for "jealous," which I immediately wanted wiped from existence. And the new layout looks like MySpace or something from 2008 - every trick from the contemporary design bag has been pulled out, from button fading to inverted lines... if this was 1998, they would be using blinking words and gifs of flames.

They're either inventing buzz words and trying to force them into common usage or they're boiling words down for their own marketing reasons, 'Ep' for episode is another one that makes my teeth itch. Yeah, I've always liked XIII's cell shaded comic book stylings, it makes a nice change from the norm and at least it's not another game going for 100% realism and not achieving it. The Resi. Evil Directors Cut gives you more camera angles and character graphics, and new difficulty settings. There's a Resi. 2 CD demo included as well.
I've forgotten how long the light in the room has been 'non-functioning', years I think. I'll try a work lamp for next time.

thanks for uploading this, it wasn't too gloomy in a way i like it darker but maybe a lamp or a cheap led hand light would work.
azure dreams for 15 quid is a good deal, i paid $55 all in for my copy (really good condition tho) keep in mind that the $'s were at par at the time so i really got screwed when i could have drove over the border and got it for $20 at probably the first game store i walk into in syracuse...

@roleplayerthegamer That's not a problem. It's strange because the video didn't look too different to how they normally do at the beginning, then the light started going! My videos always look darker uploaded anyway but I thought I could just about get away with it. I've got a work lamp which would do the job but I'd be blinded in the process, I'll give it a shot next time though.
What's it like crossing the border? Don't they ask for a purpose for your visit in the US?

Cracking pickups Owen, I was only searching online this week for Directors Cut, coincidence! Nice find with Marvel vs Capcom for that price too, I don't think ill ever find cool stuff like that in my life time, my charity shops are shite.
Video looked alright mate, if your a little concious, use that YouTube video editor thingy and click "im feeling lucky" it usually does a good job of sorting out the brightness.

even in the dark your camera is decent quality tho so it doesnt really matter. it doesnt take much reduction in light at all in my place with my camera for it to come out lookin rough.

@shenmueso The light 'hasn't worked' for longer than I've been making my videos, if I'm honest I've forgotten if it's broken or if it's just the bulb. I'm usually quite efficient at changing bulbs though, takes me about a week or so on average, so I'm guessing the latter is the case. I do have a work lamp if I don't mind being blinded though.
My recordings always look darker once they're uploaded, I thought that I might be able to get away with it while I was filming.... but alas no.
