yes, but some people hav premonitorious dreams. for example, a women had a deram that wolfs were eating her stomach. it proved to be true because the doctor told her she has cancer :)
This Rinpoche sure has star-quality with his acting abilities and his ability to mimic is due to his amazingly sharp awareness. There are really rather believable impressions.
Orgasm, Dream-state and Death are when our subtle mind comes to the foreground and hence excellent time for the practice of Tantra to tap into to gain enlightenment
michaelbuble100: I believe that is from a bookclub and not in any of the existing available teachings. There are other YouTube teachings that you can watch too or you can write in to Ladrang Liaison Seng Piow and request for the recording of this teaching in full. You can get his contact in tsemtulku(dot)com
There is a Tara of the Dreams that is especially propitiated for those who are 'sensitive' to develop their clairvoyance principally through dreams. Isn't that great!
yap7128: I believe in Vajrayogini's Tantra's 11 yogas, one of which is called sleep yoga. I believe it is the same as Dream yoga. So it means higher tantric practice and all that is entailed to receive such advance teachings.
How funny! Rinpoche's awareness is powerful for being able to pick up people's accent so quickly. It belies the level of his awareness, a tell-tale sign of a great meditator.
Lovely explanations of Dream Yoga by H E Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. When we are awake is also like a dream of sorts although everything seems so real but ends the moment we close our eyes for the very last time. Only difference is that the effects of this waking dream is carried into our next rebirth. Scary.
I think Rinpoche teases and jokes to his students because if he told us directly, we wouldn't be able to take it, so he tells us our negative habits through joking...
I can see and feel that when Rinpoche tease his student, is some form of training, as we all are ignorant, when people praise us, we feel happy, and when people tease us we feel angry, is our ego and arrogance mind, this form of teaching will help us to break away our ego and arrogance mind, i do hope Rinpoche can come to my country and tease me, so that i can break and cure away my ego.........
Making fun of students is one of Rinpoches skillful means for the students to open up. As if we are very closed and rigid , we have a mind that cannot be opened up and listen and take in new things.
On an ordinary level our dreams are our expressions of our hopes and fears .
But for the dream yoga practitioners they can enter subtle state to receive message from deities. The message would be to avert something or telling us whether we are going in the right direction.
lol!! altho I didnt understand a word he said in the first bit it was brilliant seeing him take the mick out of the audience!! its like a stand-up comedy isnt it. go ahead..go ahead lol! made me listen to the end really. good stuff .. bin thinkin bout what dreams were lately.
fully agreed what whlng have said. Tsem Rinpoche is really funny. He is able to blend dharma and jokes together to bring the teaching not so boring for some people which I think is a skillful means to make the teaching more interesting for beginners?
Dharmaprince , most unenlightened sentient beings are very tricky to others and themselves . So if the lama has clairvoyance , he will be in a better position to help the sentient being, not to read to gain an advantage , to be able to give better advice .
This video really makes me believe that there's a lama out there for everyone. For some people who can't speak English well, they somehow end up under the care of a lama like Rinpoche. Others who need an English-speaking lama but someone not so dry, and with a little humour, also have Rinpoche to turn to. Then people who can only speak French, they have lamas like His Holiness the Gaden Tripa who endorses Rinpoche (/watch?v=bS7wYF6B8kg).
So, at my level, trying to remember and analyse my dreams is a waste of time and memory. However, analysing what I am doing when I am awake is of an immense importance. You know what? That is making a lot of sense to me!
The lengths a lama like Rinpoche will go to to teach his students, keep them awake, keep their interest....incredible. And Rinpoche's not even sitting on his actual throne (which I believe is behind him, according to photos I've seen?). I don't know why he didn't sit there for this talk, but I feel he is so humble.
if dreams are an expression of our waking self, our hopes and fears, then there is no escaping ourselves when we go to sleep, is there? and our 'selves' continue into our next life etc.. scary! Better do more Migtsema & Setrap quick!
lol, it's so funny when Rinpoche imitates an accent. The lesson from all the fun and laughs is that his students are still very devoted to him after being made fun of shows you how sincere they are and how sincere Rinpoche is in training them. kecharahouse(dot)com
I crack up every time I watch this video. It is so much fun to see how warm Rinpoche is to his students, cracking jokes and teasing them. It's a very nice reminder that the Lama is human too but yet is enlightened as his jokes usually bring around transformation and benefit to his students. (tsemtulku(dot)com)
the truth is dreams mean nothing because they are just a reflection of the energies that we store in our minds when we are awake. Because of that, dreams do not carry any significance at all, except for those who practice Dream Yoga where they meditate on their dreams and they carry some significance. tsemtulku(dot)com
dreams are supressed energy that resides in the mind and it all comes out when the gross mind is weak or inactive as it has been supressing these mental energies when it is awake
I love that Rinpoche will do EVERYTHING to make us learn, even if it makes himself look daft. It all looks so silly and fun, but I guess that's actually the best way to learn - we'll never forget a teaching like that! LOL
a lot of people have problems with their dreams because it is surreal and it can be addictive and hard to forget. But the thing is, once you realize that they dont mean anything, you realize what is happening and let go of them and get on with your life.

I heard there are Lamas who practice dream yoga are able to divine the future by sleeping and when they awake they are able to give us the answer.

Never imagine that Dharma teachings can be fun! I thought Buddhist practitioners are conventional! This shows how wrong my conceptions are!

Only stupid people want psychic powers...intelligent people want Buddhahood... (That's not a thought of mine but I think that it is appropriate).

I like Rinpoche's seemless explanation that relates Dreams and Awareness. Also, this Dream Yoga thing sounds quite a powerful practice.
