  • ok so my car is doing this exact same thing minus the smoke it dont smoke at all it just want idle at all and when i drive it u can smell gas really bad and has a loss of power. i have a 91 240sx with a s14 ka24de in it with the s13 ecu and harness i didnt do the swap the previouse owner did and idk if he swapped the intake manifold or the distributor out PLEASE REPLY BACK di any of yall ever figure this out?

  • @johnprodgers60 i fixed my idle a couple months ago so lets see if this helps... CAREFULLLYY disconnect battery ... remove whole intake system .. MAKE NOTE OF WHERE EVERYTHING CONNECTS TO WHERE AND WHAT BOLT IS FOR WHAT .. dont strip the bolts or screw when removing be careful .. clean and lube everything using throttle cleaner ... the cleaner should also be able to lube the parts .. its a 2 in one affect... spray it through out all intake sensors and let it sit for about 10 minutes ....

  • @johnprodgers60 thenn ... clean everything else with the cleaner .... after cleaning and letting it sit in the parts for a while, drain alll the fluid ...DONT USE ANYWATER AT ALLL .. U ONLY NEED TO USE THE CLEANER AND A CLOTH ... AND USE IT IN A OPEN AREA the fumes while mess with ur head ... sooo after the parts have been cleaned spray it in again and drain right after .. all ur trying to do now is lube parts( sensors, diaphragms )... after the fluids have been drained wait about 4 hours ....

  • @johnprodgers60 before reinstalling ... u might need gaskets ... dont reuse .. if its expensive make them out of gasket paper .. i did that ... on one of ur sensors called the IACV( idle air control valve) there will be a screw .. gently adjust it to where u need it to be ... screwin it in will lower the idle n screwing out will raise the idle.. ur car might need it to be raised.. DONT FORCE THE SCREW .. it might need to lube so make sure u clean it properly by spraying cleaner in its holes...

  • @johnprodgers60 dont force anything in the whole to try and clean it just the spray will do.. while cleaning it and lubing, try to gently move the screw in and out to losen it properly and fully .. when it can move freely but is still secure determine where u want the screw to be... the more in, the less air will enter the engine.. the less in the more air ... BE CAREFUL AND KEEP NOTE OF WHERE EVERYTHING IS ....
