I get anemic every fall/winter... I find that floradix liquid iron supplement works really well. It absorbs much easier than other supplements I've tried and no constipation. Glad you are taking care of that. :)
@rillasvilla So far so good with the ferrous sulfate. I just took what the doctor ordered and am feeling better each day. the magnesium sulfate seems to help keep things moving but I have issues there with or without iron supplements.
You said "check in" 3 times in the first like 5 seconds, that was too cute! Lol! Oh low iron never feels that great! Glad that you got your blood checked and figured out what you needed. Great job listening to your body!! :) Mmmmm red meat, that makes me want a cheese stuffed burger hahaha. Wrapped in lettuce of course! =P I definitely agree that we need to at least get the protein and the veggies in every day, skip the fruit and bread if you aren't hungry lol. I need the protein!!!
@stepharoo85 Ha ha. I had to watch and see, yep, said check in 3 times. I really need to have some notes written when I do my vlogs, but I tend to do them from the hip. Yay for protein!
I agree that it's not all about willpower. I don't believe it's all about calories in/calories out. If it was, we'd all be thin. They didn't even know about Leptin until 1994. Imagine what else they'll discover someday.
@DEBBYRN1 Yep. Mastering Leptin is a great book. I read over 5 books on Leptin but this one was by far the best in terms of the science, information, and studies cited for further reference. I am approaching this round with overcoming leptin resistance using what i've learned to carryforward after vlcd ends. So far the 20 min of refreshing aerobic exercise is really helping with hunger in general.
Wow, glad you got the iron thing all figured out. And, so glad you will start to feel better soon. Good word on eating enough protein! Hope you have a great day : ) Thanks Dee!!!
HCGCharm mentioned Bison meat, I tried it recently and it is SO good. Very rich in iron and lean. So glad you are feeling better and found out what the problem was. Thanks for all of the good info:)
@ginamac2011 I like Bison too. Its generally around 90% lean so I try to stick to the ground sirloin at 96% lean during p2, not sure if it would make a difference but since I usually eat it twice a day in p2 just trying to keep it lean!
Please take care of yourself that comes first so as long as you are well then thats all that matters when you are feeling better then get back on it take care hun and keep us posted on how you are doing.
Very good info / advice. I have the same issues with iron and when it dips I have migraine tendencies ... Not fun. Gives me an excuse for red meat which I love. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
@HcgHousewife bummer! Its never given me migraines. Just makes it tough to get out of bed! Im doing much better. I usually eat red meat twice a day during p2 but ive been eating tuna for lunch most days for the past 3 weeks, which is great for most people, but not for me! Ill be back to red meat twice a day when I resume p2.
So happy you got to the root of things. I eat much more protein. I agree with you 100%. Yay for you. Have you try Bison... That is great Red meat for your iron and omega too. It is so good.
@HcgCharm I do like bison. I know the fat count is closer to 90% lean instead of the 96% lean of ground sirloin, so I don't do it during p2, but I do during p3.

So happy you know your body and get right to the root of things! Very happy you feel better! You do look brighter! and look so tiny in that chair...hehe. I caught that on Pooj too ... hunger manifests into other feelings in your body too. I def start with my protein and omit the others if I dont want more. Great points as always! XOXO
@Givingitmyall2011 Thanks Donna! Yep. I'm doing better. Just a minor setback. I used to eat red meat twice a day on protocol, but for the past few weeks I was having tuna for lunch. so my own fault for not doing what I knew I need to do!

@aidanshosho Its really helped me to accept certain things and once and for all stop beating myself up. Not all of us have our biology in our favor, but we are empowered to make better choices, not beat ourselves up for not being perfect.
Wow, I remember you've had issues with your iron levels. I'm glad you went to the Dr to get checked out! I hope your iron improves and you can feel better. Very good info on the Protein. I remember reading in P&I where the Dr does say to get in the 200 grams of protein and a small amount of starch. Everything else is optional. Great v log Dee! We need to be smart with our health :) Should get my Mastering Leptin book Saturday :) Great to see you!
I have yet to really get into the Mastering Leptin...can't wait to have more time to really get into it. I hear you on the getting your first TOM at a young age....I was only 10...:-/ I too believe I had a leptin resistance my whole life.
@HHcgCraZy Mastering Leptin goes in depth into the science which is what I am needing at the point of the journey I'm at right now. Its really helping me and I hope it helps others to stop beating themselves up when they overeat. some of us have our biology against us, so we have to manage things differently. We aren't failures for eating too many cookies on occasion. I hope you like the book.
Hon...praying everything with the iron deficiency gets better soon. I love my "red meat" I eat it everyday. Take care of yourself hon!! I agree with you about the protein...I absolutely make sure if I eat anything...it's my protein. Great advice and info Dee. I do believe that Robin...in Weight-Loss Apocalypse...recommends that even if people eat only when hungry...to make sure to make protein a priority. I hope people understand that. I'm glad you did this vlog hon!!
@HHcgCraZy I eat based on hunger too. I read about that concept many years ago. My problem isn't eating based on hunger, its being hungry all too often. My goal is to prevent unatural or unecessary hunger. The science in Mastering Leptin is really helping me. Im glad that you found a book that is helping you. You are a true hcg Rockstar!
I am also following the weight loss apocalypse to only eat when hungry and I eat my protein first because it is more important to get that in. I really enjoy those books you mention. I also recommend Weight -Loss Apocalypse it is awesome.
@Lizardking89squeen Good that you are prioritizing protein! I think there is value in every book. Im glad you found a book that is helping you the way Mastering Leptin is helping me.
Great information!
