Air Cut was a fantastic album, and Mike Wedgwood's contribution is always understated. He sings brilliantly on this track - hear his last note - and his 2-3-2 is a great rocking song. He's also my best friend so I am biased! Sonja always sings so well, no emoting, vibraton, no screwing up of face like they feel they have to nowadays. She's also a lovely girl. And as for the 17 year old Eddie Jobson... well, there!
This is a vinyl record I paid for when it came out and I have never been able to get anyone to agree how good it is. So, I just have it for myself. This is a sad song about single parenthood and separation. It made me never reproduce, and I am glad. Greetings from France via the USA.
I'm a 7 year old music fan who refuses to listen to anything record post 1970. In my opinion, the musical heights have have already been reached and anybody trying to do anything else is wasting their time. vote me up for being a jumped up little shit who thinks that listening to my fathers music makes me superior to my peers.
...I'm tumbling like Alice, down the tunnels of my mind....
Good musical example from the genre and time. Excellent lyrics with good studio work. Some of the key chord sequences, melodies and sound mixtures transcend the genre and will work anywhere at any time.
Dedicated to those who are not with us now , but brought so much pleasure to my life . Cally, Butchie ( deceased ) Linda my young and beautiful bride of the time . Why could it not have been a useless paraplegic like me and not them ?
@tfs964 ,I too often think about those who are not with us,Allen Collins from Lynyrd Skynyrd was a friend of mine-also paraplegic, you are a fan- we attention-whore musicians need that more than anything-and therefore far from useless -
some years ago i had a vinyl in my hands of them, can't remember which one it was, but ionly knew 1 song of them, so i didn't buy it, imagine how i feel now.......
@jakoditi Not so! Tintin has a copy! Of course, he's quite old now... less the boy reporter than the reactionary conservative- read "Tintin and the influx of bloody foreigners coming over here, stealing our jobs..." He lost his way after the Captain died. AIDS they say.
This was indeed from Curved Air's 4th album and Darryl wasn't on it(KinoEye is right), so Mr.Dandrum (You're all wrong ??) he was only on the 3 first albums, Curved Air is reforming and giving concerts this summer
Darryl Way was not on the 4th album Aircut from which this is taken but he was on all the subsequent original albums having rejoined for the tour that was recorded as "Curved Air Live".
This line-up was Sonja Kristina (vocals), Mike Wedgwood (bass, vocals), Eddie Jobson (violin, keyboards) Kirby Gregory (guitar), Jim Russell (drums). This line-up also recorded tracks which were issued years later as "Lovechild".
Great!! Where is all this Curved coming from now!!!! They were an ncredible band. I am still so bitter that PROGBANDS like Curved are still lost amongst the popular culture. Sonja is still making great music in London. Check her myspace page
Last time I heard this was about 34 years ago. Great band. Great memories and thank you big time to whoever posted the video and to the band themselves. It gave me even more pleasure to hear it now than it did then. Thanks guys.
Darryl Way was a founding member of Curved Air, and appeared on their first four albums, including Air Conditioning. plus a reunion album in 1990. He does not play on "Air Cut." Eddie Jobson plays violin and keys. Air Cut was record well into the band's career, they were not new,and there were numerous personnel changes. See their website for details. You're all wrong!!

This song is from the Curved Air album that Darryl Way was not on. I think most of the group was new at this point also. Just shows the strong spirit of Curved Air and of course the staying power of S.K.
