  • Military is young kids dying and killing other young kids for rich old bastards economic gains.

    DONT PARTICIPATE IN THE MILITARY!

(NB - my dad told me that after 2 tours of vietnam)

  • Had I done it all over again I would have been an Army Infantryman.

  • Imagine being in the army from the mid 1970s to the mid 1980s? Must have been great! No war!

  • @goodbeerfinder100

Heh heh.... it wasn't. Drug issues big time from '70 until Reagan got rid of the draft. THEN we saw the rebirth.

  • @cobrabase Reagan never got rid of the DRAFT, that ended in the 1970's

  • @goodbeerfinder100 The Cold War lasted through those years and there are Cold Warriors who paid the ultimate price maintaining Peace and Freedom. Cold War Veterans are the least recognized, sweat = blood. More Sweat Less Blood.

  • @goodbeerfinder100 There was a War, THE COLD WAR! US and Soviet Union, East v West

  • cool and retro

  • My home town....was invaded by illegals!!!

  • What happend to Proud America?

  • and I forgot to tell u all, nice song, too

  • This is cool advert - from former Royal Malaysian Navy reservist..

  • This seems more like a beer commercial.

  • 1:16 The best part. I am really digging, this song. i love 80's music

  • Wow, that's powerful. God Bless our troops! They ARE heroes!

  • The Army would go broke trying to make a commercial that long nowadays

  • Does any one have the clip of a army all you can be commercial filmed in 1988 and shown in the superbowl in 89

  • 1:34 = Fuck yeah!

  • That shit was bad back then phewww

  • God the 80s were terrible

  • @SecuROM i beleive you are wrong everyone was fucking scared because Reagan would kick everybodys ass at the drop of a coin :D

  • they dont make ab like this anymore

  • It's like being in the army was the coolest thing back then.

  • @kellark12

Actually man, many were worried that an all-volunteer army wouldn't work. The media threw the book at the new weapon systems. My Dad was an armored cavalryman and I remember watching him nervously watch the hatchet job 60 minutes did on the Bradley, the M1A1, the AH64. They declared those weapon systems of Reagan's military useless, unfit and "unworthy for battle."

Gee.... All have been with us since 1984 and STILL going strong.

SCREW YOU LIBS! YOU GOT IT WRONG AGAIN!!!!!

  • @kellark12

sure it was, and we were proud of making sure that our kids will live in freedom.

God bless the USA and the ARMY

  • Good memories in this one from the 80s. Ft. Knox, Ft. Rucker and Ft. Campbell. I would go back to those days in a heartbeat.

  • 1:14 oops ):

  • 1:11 so does this mean the Army was rly a bunch of closeted homosexuals back in the 80's?

  • 1:35 if more army commercials had flying tanks everyone would join the army

  • i'm going to make a time machine, go back to the 80s, and join the US Military. Mark my words internet.

  • @magicmuffins7

Just change your name first.... I don't know if "Magic Muffins" will go over very well in the barracks.

  • Never. I remember the Be All You Can Be commercial.

  • Remember this commerical well...thank you for posting ...does anyone know who sings the song?

  • @DisabledVet2006

Not I but If you want I can send the song to you as an mp3.

  • luv it! Thank u from Germany for protecting our freedom!!

  • i love this song!!!!

  • @jedilord455

I made it into an mp3. Want it?

  • @cobrabase I'll take it

  • I watched this video when I was in my recruiters office filling out my paperwork to join... :-)

  • it was filmed in 1988

  • Nice ad.

Can anyone tell me the name of the song?

  • I'm going to guess "My Home Town"

  • @cobrabase Ya think?!?!

  • Comment removed

  • 1:37 Dukes of Hazard army style!

  • yeeeeehaaw!!!!

  • Be all you can be.. fuck the army of one... Bring back Reagan...

  • @BattleBeast81imback Reagan was the most anti-gun sonuvabitch this country has ever had next to Clinton. Fuck Reagan.

  • Why do they have the new army logo? Do they Re-run this ad in the U.S. still today?

  • The new logo is more "hip." This ad campaign was great. It was seen for about 5 years from 1984 to 1988 approximately. While not on TV any more you might find a staff sergeant or two playing it for new recruits when they are about to get on the bus to basic.

  • @cobrabase It was filmed in 1988

  • This could be the opening to a sweaty action show.

  • The Unit: The Early years.

  • Good memories from Reagan's America!

  • Yup... we got rid of the draft and our military became pros again.

  • This is the Army I thought I was signing up for! Man, talk about false advertisement, I been in 3 years and I ain't done a single thing from this ad! well... I got married to my hometown sweetheart, but that's the only correlation so far

  • What's your MOS?

  • 68W Medic. I'm assigned to a Cav Squadron, rollin HMMWVs through Baghdad

  • One of my favorites ads of all time.

  • Thanks for sharing this video.
