I love this film, but there is no way it would ever be shown these days on British TV as the humour largely depends on the concept of whacking small boys on their behinds with a cane! Something which was completely normal when I was a kid, but is now regarded with horror by the silly, 'pc' brigade. Then they wonder why the schools are out of control! Personally I think coroporal punishment (in moderation ) is a good idea.
With the scandelous lack of BBC Whacko episodes surviving, this is the major surviving Muir and Norden filmed version of the brilliant Jimmy Edwards turn as the appalling headmaster of Chisilbury School ...........His comedy style was unique....
The loony left, spoilsport brigade won't allow it to be shown anymore sadly.
Anything that does not conform to strict PC rules is banned outright which is a great shame. Their idea of the perfect performer is a gay, black, muslim.
as do i sir nothing better than caning a young boy or girl Happy days

It's about time that hilarious films like this were broadcast again by the BBC on their main channels.

This film stars Donald Hewlett and Melvyn Hayes from 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum' etc in their younger days.
