@tupaclover123 it was saturday/still is, but it is modernly celebrated on sunday, because so many people had prior engagments on saturday, and it says to rest on the sabbath, and getting up and driving to church, isnt resting. its just as important as it would be on saturday. and besides, god has no calender, time and date is irrelevant to him. and after a long week of work/school u couldnt focus on the message. so sunday is more effiecent for many.

@SusDgs I believe the reason why church membership is declining is because of poor church leadership that refuses to see the need to be contextual to culture and society. I'm not sure about other parts in the country, but here in California, the fastest growing, people reaching churches, don't have a single hymnal in sight. Great things are being accomplished for the kingdom of God through new, refreshing styles of music and church venues.

I kinda like the swing-y version. I come from a traditional church, and the congregation has sung it both ways. (Although the swing version was reserved for our Christmas party, where we also sang "Jingle Bells", come to think of it.)

I love the classics, and I love new worship songs. If it causes you to worship your Creator and King, it doesn't matter what it sounds like.

I do prefer classics most of the time, though.

From an old conservative Christian, I applaud your efforts to update our music. Let's face it the message is the same, the love for Jesus is still sung. Music has evolved in the Church for 2000+ years. Give HIM the glory and all will be well.
