Oh, to hear that pedal steel guitar in more rock-pop songs like here from 1973! What great music came from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's! There's great music from the 90's and from the new Millenium--just not on the scale of the previous eras--and alot of musical ideas were stolen from the earlier eras, for the later eras! BobbyK
Different tampo, believe or not first time I've heard it played that fast..in the LP it like you never left..it's just him on the 12 string and gram nash on backup vocals. i like this one, like I said it's different...thx for posting it prozac
Actually, this version is not from "It's Like You Never Left" —I wish it was, as that version is, for me, is the more memorable of the two —Simple, unplugged, with the vocals really coming to the forefront; especially Graham Nash's harmony —This version is from the following album that came out in '74 —The self-titled album that, also, includes Dave's great version of "All Along the Watchtower"...
When my first marriage was falling apart over 30 years ago I tried to use this song to get my first wife to understand how I felt about her. Unforunately 6 months later it was "We Just Disagree". Ah - take me back to the days of my youth
This was my Wifes favorite song for me to play on the guitar. It was played at her Funeral. This morning I was finally able to listen to it without crying(for the most part).
Maybe the healing has begun. I hope so. Anyway enjoy it. It's a beautiful song.
My god, I haven't heard this song in about 25 years. Brought tears to my eyes as it took me back to old friends I haven't seen in way to long. My god, the memories. Thanks Mr.Mason!!
Agree, Dave Mason fan, great acoustic/electric rock guitarist, vocalist extraordinaire.
Plays in several high profile alb. such as G. Harrison's "All things Must Past", Paul McCartney's "Listen to Wat the man said", acoustic G. on Hendrix "All along the watchtower", several Crosby-Nash Albums, just to name a few.
Here's the "electric" version of the original just on just acoustic with Nash harmonizing.
(Wrong image belongs to the acoustic version) just as side note.
Hi, one of Dave Mason classic performances among lots of other's, this one here, originally was on just acoustic with (Nash /Graham) doing the so fine harmonies) on the album above "its like you never left" 1973? (another rock classic) and later he added instrumentals here in this 1974-75? "Dave Mason" Album performance, both equal high quality songs.
This is not the version that is on the "It's Like You Never Left" record .[ You have posted the cover] Graham Nash sings this with him and is featured on the entire album. They also do a great re=make of "Head Keeper".Hope you didn't get ripped 'cause this is a weak version of this song. This and the next two albums are among his best [ "Dave Mason" and "Split Coconut" [ I think] before he slipped back into that Quasi blues shlock that I don't care for. .Colombia Records 1973
You should see him now. Check his website, he still does quite a few dates. I saw him in 74' and 3 times recently. His vocals are as strong as ever, and the band is really tight.
I must a seen Dave 10 times in my hay days.Never get sick of that beautiful voice. He kept me company as a child and soothes my soul as adult.wish I could hear a shadow,a heartache,a lifetime. God I'ld give my right arm .

Nothing in the world like a man who appreciates his woman..And old Dave couldn't sing it like this if he didn't mean it..lol.
Like the honey, you can make the bitter sweet.. a child a girl a woman, you are everything I choose..
ahhh. bliss.
