Nice playing man...that guitar looks like it`s almost worn out I`ll give you Fifty Bucks for it....you could put the money towards a nice new `Acme Special`...with a glitter scratch-plate.
LOL surely you jest... My acme special wouldn't have a glitter scratch-plate, it would clash with my rhinestone studded whammy bar.... and I won't take a nickel over thirty dollars for this piece of junk.
Hey Man...check out my Arch-Top...Gibson Super 400 copy..Ibuilt it my self...click on ...guitarpicka1....and all will be revealed....that whammy bar sounds impressive...or depressive...maybe.
Thanks inverness. A lover of jazz knows what chasing but never catching is about. We all do it in one way or another... that is if we're living at all. Take care. Thanks for dropping by.
Thanks - don't mean to overload you but since you have cool guitars I thought you might want to get a look at my 1946 Gibson L7 Cheers... stay in touch.
Thanks Allen. Listening to your version as we speak. Very well played. I like your arrangement too. And the tone on your guitar is immaculate. Thanks for the video response. From ol' archtop to ol' carvetop best wishes for the Holiday Season.
Got the video response. Thanks. Well, regarding the finger picking versus the flat picking, we all have room for improvement don't we. Seems that only TE has both of those methods nailed. 'o)
Thanks for the posting. I've already duo'd with you, in my all thumbs fashion. I'll steal as much as I can from your version to get a grounding on the tune. Jbone.
Thanks Jbone. It might help to know that it is in the key of D... not a common key for this tune but useful for the open strings it makes available. They say a great artist steals from the best. I stole it from somebody else so you're welcome to steal it from me. 'o) Best regards.
You know I gave mine to a sax player 35 years ago for 100dollars and he came back to me because he brought it to a dealer asking me if I wanted it back. He said the dealer (we buy on 47st) was going to give him a lot of money. I let him have it.
Very cool gift from an historic guitarist. Mine sounds good but a few fatal flaws make it not very collectable. I imagine I'll keep it another 35 years or so. Thanks for dropping by.
I dig all the different interpretations of standards. Each player brings his own "stuff" to it. Very enjoyable. Looks like a ES-150 or ES-300 with a DeArmond sliding pickup. Cool.
Thanks Gary - It's actually a 1946 Gibson L-7. You nailed the pick up. Old single pole that gets the sound you can't get any other way. Thanks for dropping by.
Boyd - Thanks. To be keeping company with jazzguts and naudo is an honor. This is not in a jazz key really. It is in D. I'll be really interested to see and hear what you do with it. Thanks for the kind comment and stay in touch.
Great playing Lance enjoyed every second of this very personal interpretation, man when you went in that atkins swing couldn't stop tappin my feet, what can I say to a guy that has a (good)style of his own and I certainly hear that you know your Stuff, think I'm going to pay more attention to your work,I'll be commenting that's for shure, greets Amigo,Vic.
Thanks so much Victor. And likewise, I am going to pay close attention to everything you are doing. I have so much to learn and your approach is perfect for someone who is developing their own style. Seeing how you arrive at your own unique interpretation of these tunes will go a long way toward helping me to find mine. Thanks my friend. - Lance
Len and Jen - thanks so much. I see you by your channel you like art. You might want to check out my art related vids. lancescapes 1 & 2, speed drawing and the around the coyote show. ... then again ... maybe not. Your call. Again, love the encouragement. Thanks.
Hey, Duck! Ha! It hadn't been up for 2 minutes and you picked up on it. Glad you liked it. I think I'll post my version of All Along the Watchtower next. If you don't mind my horning in on your repertoire '^).

I wish I had your right hand. My finger-style stinks. Your picking is very clean. I don't hear the picks scraping the strings. That's hard to do.
Merry Christmas!

Yes, my sainted ballet teacher would choreograph with the motto "Good artists borrow. Great artists steal." I strive to be great.
