The man of the people. The one percent. Where are all the snipers when we need them. I have a friend who is an ex navy seal. He needs money, and he is really good. Why didnt osama bin laden blow up the capital building. A group I was part of was partially responsible of getting rid of glenn beck, we killed his sponsors. If we do not stop these people now then there will be no more choices. Stop Ryan now, stop him dead.
Is Paul Ryan beyond astonishing? (yes) A month ago, he talked sense into Chris Van Hollen, getting him to agree with him on budget reform. If you watch C-SPAN, you know Van Hollen is the most hopelessly blabbering liberal flab-mouth in the nation -- until Ryan talked sense into him -- pure magic. And then he gets Wyden to agree with him on health care reform???
People listen to reason. Even Van Hollen and Wyden. Pure impossible magic.
Rep Ryan appeared to be the brightest person in this room during this important session. Better than Pelosi, Boehner, Obama, McConnell, Reid, any of them. This gentleman should be taken seriously.
Why are "balanced budget" amendments pushed only AFTER republicans BUST the budget (as well as the economy)?
They want to lengthen THEIR recessions while a democrat cleans up their mess, but then when they take power they say that Reagan "proved" that deficits don't matter - (Dick Cheney)
Bush inherited a surplus said it was BAD - He planned to waste the surplus=> See NY Times online Aug 24, 2011
Republicans after 1980 = ZERO credibility on budgets. ZERO!
@dleechristy You Tube would not let me post the direct link to the pre-9-11 Bush interview but it's an easy find.
He said the surplus he inherited was "unhealthy" and would get us back into deficit. Republicans purposely pissed it away while a fellow republican was in office! They run up the credit card and then when a democrat follows their MESS, they try to CONTRACT the economy and lengthen the pain purposely, relying on people to not see what vile shit they pull.
@dleechristy And true fiscal conservatives don't like Bush and the bad name he has given to small govt. Conservatism. This has been acknowledged outside of the Left Vs Right Paradigm that the media (Msnbc/Fox) are pushing.
Ron Paul and people similar of his ilk have been quietly taking about Bush's big government Neoconservativism for a decade, predicting the 2008 Crisis (see Peter Schiff who is conservative) and blaming Bush's policies.
REGRESSIVE TAXES - the rich pay a higher % of ncome in taxes than the middle class 1) Income tax PROGRESSIVE TAXES - the middle class pays a higher % of ncome in taxes than the rich 1) Federal Social Security tax 2) Federal Gasoline Tax 3) Federal Beer & Wine Tax 4) Federal Tire Tax 5) Federal Cigarette Tax 6) Federal Telephone Tax 7) State Gasoline Tax 8) State Sales Tax 9) County Sales Tax 10) City Sales Tax + more than 200 more Ryan's plan will make the inc tax reggressive too
@ronpaulization Get real! Paul Ryan is pathetic, I've read ayn rands books and yes it is entertaining but nothing beyond that, this guy swears by rands distorted ideas,he is a complete idiot and those who voted for him are morons
@poindexterwitkowsky Reagan was one of the most successful -most popular presidents in American history so I would be careful where your slander wanders.
Ryan didnt own nothing. He talks like a used car salesman. Soo fast because 99% of the shit he's saying is bullshit. Ryan is going to be like his Dictator friend Gov. Walker. Out of a job. Ryan lost the older vote.
`Republican Paul Ryan uses"projection"when ACCUSING Obama of"class warfare". CLASS WARFARE is what REPUBLICAN$ have been waging for the last 30 yrs. Since the Reagan& Bush tax cuts, the wealthest have been paying less tax than at anytime in America's history. Since Bush Jr, America has lost more jobs than at anytime in it's history. PAULIE,everyone form NY to Janesville,WI (your hometown)to Seattle knows that YOU are out to DESTROY MEDICARE..TAKE YOUR CORPORATE DONATIONS& RETIRE.YOU'RE FINISHED.
@poindexterwitkowsky The top 1% today pay 40% of all income taxes.47% of Americans do not pay a dime in income taxes.I would ask you to kindly revisit your assumptions on what constitutes fair share. If it is not fair, then what is?70%? 80%? For what..being successful?By the way the healthcare bill raids 500billion out of Medicare. That is where you should direct your anger.Absolute numbers don't lie.Unless you choose to ignore them.Class warfare is being waged from the other side of the aisle.
@gunsnroses2020 When less than 0.1% of your earnings is enough to fund a town for years, you should have to pay back some of the money you have exploited.
@poindexterwitkowsky Oh also, since we are referring to corporate donations,Obama raised the most money from the same banks that got bailouts after he appointed Tim Geithner (former executive of Goldman Sachs who was the largest beneficiary of the bailout that Obama supported as a Senator). Also, his healthcare law forces every American by virtue of existence to purchase govt mandated insurance from private ins cos.Wow, what a great way to punish them!Their stock price shot up the day it passed.
@poindexterwitkowsky Can't pass up the opportunity to point out when someone says the exact OPPOSITE from the truth. 2 quick facts for ya Poindexter. 1. After Reagan cut the top income tax rate, the individuals wealthy enough to be in that bracket paid MORE, not less taxes. Look it up. 2. Obama received more corporate donations than any candidate in history, just FYI...
This is a Paul Ryan video. If you want to see Obama's rebuttal I'm sure there are hundreds of videos out there. But it was not a rebuttal to begin with. He bullied everyone up to that point and then got served by Mr. Ryan.
If the man who wins the Republican nomination has any sense at all he will choose Ryan to be his VP. Ryan on the ticket gives your party some credibility, as a Republican I didn't like being embarrassed by Palin.
haha i bet u americans regret voting for obama JUST BECAUSE HE WAS BLACK!!! and desperate to prove to the world that america has changed. I even will bet my meagre salary that some of the blacks in america (who never voted before) voted just because he was black. yes i know obama is 50% caucasian
The Cato institute, a libertarian think tank, put out a study that showed higher taxes have corresponded with lower levels of spending in America, a fact which conservatives seem more than willing to ignore. The fact is that Republicans care very little about spending until a Democrat is in the WH.
What BULL. The debt was paid down in 2000. The country was in great shape, we were making great dividends in the stock market with higher tax rates. The tax cuts took $1.35 trillion out of our revenues. The war cost $3trillion+ which added a nice $7trillion to the deficit and the debt ceiling was raised 7 times under Bush. Medicare and Soc Sec have nothing to do with this debt. We don't have the highest corporate taxes in the world. We have an average of 13.5% and 25 corps paid 0 in 2009.
" In 2003, 450 economists, including ten Nobel Prize laureate, signed the Economists' statement opposing the Bush tax cuts, sent to President Bush stating that "these tax cuts will worsen the long-term budget outlook... will reduce the capacity of the government to finance Social Security and Medicare benefits as well as investments in schools, health, infrastructure, and basic research... [and] generate further inequalities in after-tax income."
I say tax a little to the top 1% wealthiest. Stop paying countries like Pakistan to be a friend (when the cold war is over and they harbor terrorists). I say abolish inheritance tax, especially for family farms. We don't need 170 military bases around the world, close some in Western Europe, they can foot the bill. Stop ordering military aircraft/ships cost trillions, tax incentives for Ford and other to relocate from vietnam and come back to america. legalize pot tax the hell our of it.
Corporate tax rate is 35% taxed off the top of earnings. When an owner takes a payment as a non employee he pays another 15% in capital gains or more if he pays himself as an employee. That's 50% minimum. That is just Federal. The Average C corp owner is probably paying 70% of all the money HE earned so most of you whiners can sit on your ass and collect foods stamps and play x box. No it's not the EVIL Corporations it's the bloated government and entitlement mentality killing the economy.
It's all part of the problem. Or do you like the idea of Reaganomics where your boss pays less than you in taxes (redistribution of wealth from lower tier to higher tier) and having more billionaires in the world? Theres only so much money out there why do you want the super rich to have more of it? That means one more person homeless in the street for Jon Stossel to complain about as a free loading pan handler. A homeless person - as a freeloader?!
That is not correct. There is an endless supply of money which is another BIG part of the problem. (see Breton Woods).
Your "Boss" (I don't have one but if you do) does not pay LESS tax he pays more. He may pay less of a percentage because he is paying capital gains instead of wage theft taxes. Almost all taxes are useless anyway. Wealth is not a pie to be split up that is not how it works.
Well the GDP of the world says that there is finite money. My boss's sum liable taxes may be greater than mine but his share of the tax burden to sustain our government is lower. Besides, millionaires and billionaires may be job creators, but the consumers, of which the middle class is the vast majority, are the job sustainers. We make the products. We buy the products. Take money out of our hands, and we can't buy what we make. That is job killing right there.
@insurrektion And your advocating for taking more money out of the middle class by taxing the rich, you think they just eat the tax like a man? No, they pass it on to consumers
Add to that the fact the middle class is BARELY hanging on while the upper class has a long ways to go before they get to our level of difficulty sustaining a family, having a mortgage, trying to live the American dream. I don't feel too bad that the rich can't afford to buy another mansion this year when I see the middle class being foreclosed upon in record numbers by corrupt banks.
The corporate tax rate should be zero. Lower corporate taxes do create jobs. Furthermore, taxes on a regular C corps are a double tax on the owners, the share holders. They get taxed on profit and then again on dividends. Corporations and their owners pay way more than you think.
Republicans say that big corporations need tax breaks so they can "create jobs.” Baloney! This is what they do with the money they keep: pay staggering salaries to their big bosses; ship American jobs overseas; and squeeze ever tighter the employees who remain. When in human history has a nation ever benefited from the tender mercy of the rich? Never, that’s when. It was the middle class who made this country great and now they are being sold down the river. Wake up folks!
FYI-to all you people without jobs, all you people about to lose your homes-listen up. The republicans WANT YOU TO LOSE YOUR JOBS AND HOMES!
They don't care about you. They know the best way for one of them to win the presidential race is to ruin the ecomomy. They've stated they want to defeat Obama next election at all costs! THIS IS DOCUMENTED! Then, when they get in the white house the very first thing they will do is to CUT TAXES FOR THE RICH! And what about those jobs?...... SUCKERS!
All of you who are arguing in the favor of healthcare, and more taxes are confusing economic growth with taking money from all of the people that contribute to the economy and using that money to effectively pay for a large amount of people who aren't doing anything to create real economic wealth. Check out the broken window fallacy. These ideas about zero sum games are illegitimate and downright childish.
to my fellow conservative brothers and sisters, dont mind the noise from these liberal posters. one thing they all have in common is they speak in analogies and generalities. they also will blame bush for everything.
listen to paul ryan take on an issue and then listen to obama do the same. if you can truly say obama sounds more informed and better prepared then your glasses have just been fogged to much by your liberal friends parents and msnbc anchors.
It is encouraging to see how many people liked this clip versus those who did not like it. The silent majority trumping a few misguided myopic dissenters. The peoples power and trust is so undervalued, but I have a feeling it will soon be felt.
The idea that lower corporate & individual tax rates spur job growth is a 30-year REPUBLICAN LIE. Since the implementation of the REAGAN & BUSH TAX CUTS, America has LOST MORE jobs than at any other time in its history. Not collecting a FAIR SHARE of taxes from corporations& the wealthy has spawned a SERIOUS REVENUE PROBLEM which should be a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY. On the other hand, a WORKING MIDDLE CLASS with money to spend DOES SPUR JOB GROWTH. AMERICA, REJECT THE REPUBLICAN LIE!
@poindexterwitkowsky Um, in the year before the Reagan tax cut, we had a total of 99,303,000 jobs in 2007 - before the Democrats took over congress we had 146,047,000 jobs. That is an increase of 46,744,000 jobs - which is more jobs than ANY similar time frame in our history.
In addition, wages increased 9.28% FASTER than inflation - another VERY good period for the American worker.
My source?? Barack Obama's 2010 Economic Report of the President tables B-37 and B-47
@poindexterwitkowsky Of course you cannot source your "facts" because you simply made them up.
In addition, we do NOT have a revenue problem - we have a SPENDING problem. In 2007, the federal government collected the MOST REVENUE in the ENTIRE HISTORY of our nation. 2011 is projected to be very close to that record.
My source? Barack Obama's own 2010 Economic Report of the President table B-78
@poindexterwitkowsky You have no fucking clue what youre talking about. Even obama says we need to lower our corporate tax rate. Every socialist country in Europe has way lower corporate tax rates. Its our most important tax we need to keep low. Youre a typical liberal spewing lies. People like you are the reason that China may lead the free world in 5 years.
@poindexterwitkowsky Americans voted 30 Republican Governors into state offices, 250 congressmen and even out the Senate. Sounds like America accept the Republican truth.
@poindexterwitkowsky Fact Check time. Govt. Revenues are at the highest level in our nations history and we have created nearly 50 million jobs since Reagan took office. In addition Wages for the working man have gone WAY up since he stopped them from plummeting under Jimmy Carter.
Those are just the facts.
All of this can be found if you look at Barack Obama's OWN "2010 economic report of the president" tables B-36 and B-47. Go ahead and google it.
@poindexterwitkowsky The corporate tax rate is the most important tax that needs to be low. Every european country has some of the lowest corporate tax rates, we have the highest in the world. You liberals no nothing about economics. How is raising taxes going to help create jobs? Did you even know that 75% of the bush tax cuts were for the middle class and lower?
@ltkhokie1 Really, wow! I wander if this has anythingto do with unemployment in those countries which almost every European country has always had at least a ten percent unemployment rate. Let me get this straight: You are talking about corporate tax breaks which go to corporations(yah-a bit assumptive on my part-corporate taxes for corporations) and now we are to understand those CORPORATE tax cuts go to the middle and lower class? Talk about not knowing anything about economics. Wow!
@daveme7 Lol yea you obviously know more about economics than me.....Even your hero Obama said the corporate tax rate needs to be a lot lower. How is raising taxes going improve employment? Ever thought that maybe their high employment was because of huge deficits and high taxes(other than their low corporate tax).
@renttoodamnhigh92 I did vote for him but not because of really much other than McCain being for the war in Iraq-yep and I also fought in it. The bvig thing and really not much isseeing Obama not caving in about Iraq. Was he better then McCain? Just as now another weak foeld of repubs. You are right-raising taxes in a bad economic cycle is never good. The pointbeing European coiuntries has always had a high unemployment rate-was always about high taxes and much for everyone
So Bush is going to rescue social security and in the middle of two wars lowered taxes.Upon after winning re-election, Bush admitted nothing changed on social security and there is no money in the trust fund. Far be it for me to criticize our CiC-most see his tax cuts and then the wars which doubled our obligations going from 5.6T to 11.3T. Knowing any excess of SS funds will gotothe general budget, it is like redistribution in reverse.
@poindexterwitkowsky WOW TOTALLY. Instead, lets tax all the companies that create jobs so they stop hiring and increase layoffs. Then, we will add to our HUGE deficit we created by using that tax money for temporary short term jobs and extending unemployment benefits, AGAIN! We will also create MORE welfare programs we can't afford, where over 45% of the population doesn't contribute a dime for. YAY for taxing instead of cutting.
I agree that Hiding Spending Doesn't Reduce Spending, and was glad to see the President in the room listening to this presentation. I am in my 50's have paid generously in to medicare & social security for 40 years, and am concerned with the future of these programs.
@psweeney1000 You are right to be concerned. The President sat through this presentation, and then proceeded to continue with the plan that Ryan exposed as a fraud. He literally took $500 billion from medicare in order to fool people into believing that Obamacare was deficit neutral.
Ryan put forth a plan that GUARANTEES that people 55 and older will not have ANYTHING change, while those of us who are younger, get the SAME plan that congress has and it is indexed for inflation.
for a long time. We are the ones losing everything right now and we are the ones who need help. It's about time EVERYONE starts sacrificing and stop the bitching!! We all need to do out share not just the ones who "can afford it". Who's to judge that!! Peace
It's simple math. You can't spend what you do not have. Do not raise the debt ceiling because we can't afford it. Digging ourselves deeper is not going to fix anything. When times are good 40% of Americans do not have to pay their taxes b/c of special entitlements to the poor, dissabled, old etc . . . While they are not contributing their share of the burden the middle and upper class are paying the dues. The middle class and wealthy have been carrying the burden for the less fortunate
Thanks to liberal policies America can no longer afford to pay for medicare, social security, unemployment and many other services. We also need to lower the minimum wage to $2/hr in order to compete with China and bring jobs back home. Fiscally responsible conservatives like Paul Ryan and John Boehner know this and are currently
working to end these wasteful handout programs and bring the minimum wage down so that America can be great again. God bless the GOP!
@GOPkicksbutt Your sarcasm wasnt witty the first hundred times you posted it. No one in the GOP is advocating a drop to $2 in the minimum wage to compete with China. They are however advocating tax code reforms and a corporate tax cut which will bring jobs back. Why dont you grow a pair and get an original thought instead of posting this horseshit over and over and over on conservative vids, troll?
Scary to see all these Socialist comments on this page. Let's us all know that we are living in an entitlement society and it's only a matter of time till all the Dumb Masses Sheeple fall prey to a Government who does all for everyone! Are we seeing the end of the USA right in front of us? People please look at Greece! It's time to make the hard decisions right now if we are to stay a sound nation!
Can you show me where such tax cuts have decreased revenues in the past?
Where are the loopholes NOT closed.
Why are you trying to gin up hatred toward your fellow Americans ?
Finally, why do you liberals feel the need to lie about what Ryan is saying? Aren't your arguments good enough to stand up on their own without lying about the opposition?
@ToddAldrich -- You write ''can you show me where such tax cuts have decreased revenues in the past?"
Sure - 1 example is the 1945 tax cuts as a result of coming out of the war...govt revenue was less than 1945 for the years 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949 & 1950
Another example was Reagan who bought into voodoo supply-side -- thinking cuts meant more revenue only to see drops on a monthly basis (1983 was less revenue than 1982) & then put in the biggest tax increase in US history & revenue soared
@ToddAldrich -- You write - "can you show me where such tax cuts have decreased revenues in the past?
Sure - Recall Clinton raised taxes & of course REVENUE WENT UP EVERY YEAR HE WAS IN OFFICE!
Bush lowered taxes, UNPRECEDENTED IN TIME OF WAR, & revenue was lower in 2001 than 2000. 2002 was lower than 2001, 2003 was lower than 2002, 2004 was even lower than 2000, & he turned over the Presidency with us in a near-depression & w/ revenue decreasing for 4 more years.
@DillonDee9 Thank you so much for allowing me to dispel this liberal LIE.
For starters, let's look at the lie you claimed with Bush's tax cuts.
Bush's 1st tax cut was passed in 2001 and aside from an inconsequential rebate, not ONE provision was put in place in that year - and THAT provision does not show up in the lower revenues figures - it was a CHECK FROM the government, not lower revenue received. So your claim that 2001 revenues went down because of the tax cuts - is a LIE.
@DillonDee9 Now lets look at the provisions of the 2001 tax cut that was in place for the year 2002 - and ----
SURPRISE!!!!! Once again, almost none of the provisions were in place yet - the exceptions being the lowest few income tax brackets and they make up such a small % of the revenue picture that once again, it was insignificant.
In fact, the major provisions of the 2001 tax cut were not scheduled to be phased in until after 2006 - that is until the 2003 tax cut sped up the phase-in.
@DillonDee9 The 2003 tax cut however accelerated the phase-in scheduling of the 2001 cuts and let's look at what happened once most of the provisions were actually in place.
According to Barack Obama's OWN, "2010 Economic Report of the President" revenues began to increase - and dramatically so.
In FACT, once the major portions of the Bush tax cuts were in place - revenues went from $1,782.3 billion in 2003 to $2,568.0 billion in 2007 That is an increase of over 44% in just 4 years.
@DillonDee9 So, just how do you and your ilk get off claiming the Bush tax cuts decreased the revenues, when they REVERSED a downward trend, and INCREASED revenues DRAMATICALLY.
Shall we go on to the Reagan tax policies that you lied about? I guarantee you that the TRUTH bears little resemblance to what you wanted to portray.
You see, your liberal sources are LYING to you but since you are not exposed to the ACTUAL facts, and are too lazy to fact check your sources, you look like a fool.
@DillonDee9 And the unemployment rate was under 5% for half of Bush's presidency. That's with having the highest corporate tax rate in the world. Higher taxes do nothing but give more room to keep spending too much, and do nothing in the long term to increase revenue.
@jfkreagan92 I'm pretty sure that's not true and that the unemployment rate was 8% when Bush left office. And why don't you get to the point and just simply start advocating and arguing for the abolishment of taxes. After all those taxes go to schools roads bridges, social security, medicare, medicaid and especially the military as well as subsidies. I mean how low can you lower taxes before its nothing.
@ctproductionscurtis Bullshit, Bush Tax cuts have yet to expire, and Bush was responsible for deregulating the financial industry and and Medicare part D, a prescription drug plan that wasn't paid for. I'm pretty sure tax revenue was lower than it was during Clinton's adminastration.
and they hav been in effect for all of obamas term..........jack ass.......ur one of those people that rush limbaugh talks about......why dont u read a book or look up Milton Friedman and possibly u could learn sumthing.. look up Milton Friedman
@DillonDee1 Your BS talking points only delay the fact that there is almost 10% unemployment with an exploding budget. Where is the "Change" we were promised? How many more terms does Obama need to turn this recession around? We got change alright--change to a failing economy with an inept leader.
@DillonDee1 Exactly what is insane? You made a statement about Paul Ryan, didn't back it up, and then made a comment about the Dow. You people never argue the facts. Your knee-jerk reaction to attack the person shows your lack of thought or any consideration of the factual arguments being presented by Mr. Ryan. Is it that you leftists are incapable of making a sound counter-arguemant, or, are you just unwilling to do so?
Okay, now insert your personal attack of me below:
@idicula1979 If you don't agree with Mr. Paul Ryan, you are only exposing your lack of understanding. Your inability to understand fundamental financial concepts and accounting of the treasury. This country has been on a path to ultimate doom every since the new deal, and even before that
A massive re-distribution of wealth to the super-rich has occurred over the past decade...so that the top 10% now has 90% of the Financial Wealth of the nation.
Ryan wants to bring it up to 95% w/ his massive tax cuts for the super-rich
@DillonDee1 LOL. ya its the rich peopls fault they have all the wealth. Darn them to heck for working hard and making all that money!!!! We should definitely take some of that hard earned money away and give it to all those poor people! Right on! Right on!
And if you look at the richest 10 Americans you'll find that those who made it -- think their taxes are too low, & those who married money or inherited it dont.
Damn todd Look like you got me on the ropes. I'll try to come back at you, but it is gonna take some time cause my dads in the VA Hospital. I'll try to crush you later but much respect for the exchange! Peace!
@metalicboy And yet you see people right here, that have no idea what his plan actually is, castigating the man and making all sorts of provably false allegations. The fact that there are this many uninformed people that vote is scary - UNLESS they are willing liars, and then they are simply scum.
Do I really need to continue with the thousands of companies the are involved in the oil industry - or are the big corporations enough to prove my point?
They pay more in taxes than they make - and THEY do the work, THEY employ the people, THEY take the risk, THEY deal with the environmental kooks, THEY DO ALL of the work and yet the government takes the majority of the gains.
@RamenReturns Show me where I'm wrong. Instead of using your programed ignorant response, deal with what I said. WHERE am I wrong?
That is not an unreasonable position. If I am a moron, show me where my facts are wrong - but prove it. I have sourced my facts and they show the Democrats are lying , and Ryan is absolutely correct.
But then, since I am a moron, you should EASILY be able to show my facts to be wrong. Go ahead, I dare you.
@ToddAldrich No thanks. The appropriate response for someone as jaw-droppingly stupid as yourself is ridicule and scorn. You can go ahead and think you're smart and right, I really don't give a fuck what morons think in general.
@RamenReturns In other words, you CAN'T find anything wrong with what I or Ryan said. All you have is your talking points your masters programed you to parrot.
@RamenReturns And you were just plain wrong. But like the leftist you are, you don't have any actual facts on your side, so you just lie about and smear those you disagree with.
@ToddAldrich I'm not lyin' bro you spelled a really simple word wrong. TWICE! I mean this isn't some $25 word, this is just elementary English. Any moderately intelligent 4th grader can spell this word. I promise you that I'm telling the truth!!!
@RamenReturns It's the first time in your life you've told the truth - and of course it is on a petty thing. Typical leftist, distract, misdirect and change the subject.
@ToddAldrich The topic is your sheer stupidity, and I think I've covered it thoroughly. Do you need it in bullet points? Can you get your mom to come help you understand or something?

Our debt was over 90% of GDP at the end of WW2
But our country solved the problem by increasing taxes on the top 10%
Today Germany has the strongest European economy by far

86Gramms 6 months ago 2
" In 2003, 450 economists, including ten Nobel Prize laureate, signed the Economists' statement opposing the Bush tax cuts, sent to President Bush stating that "these tax cuts will worsen the long-term budget outlook... will reduce the capacity of the government to finance Social Security and Medicare benefits as well as investments in schools, health, infrastructure, and basic research...
ConservativeLogic 6 months ago 6
@ConservativeLogic
A homeless person - as a freeloader?!
insurrektion 3 months ago
@insurrektion
"there is only so much money out there"
That is not correct.
ConservativeLogic 3 months ago
@ConservativeLogic
That is job killing right there.
insurrektion 3 months ago
@insurrektion And your advocating for taking more money out of the middle class by taxing the rich, you think they just eat the tax like a man? No, they pass it on to consumers
superlucci 3 months ago
@ConservativeLogic
Add to that the fact the middle class is BARELY hanging on while the upper class has a long ways to go before they get to our level of difficulty sustaining a family, having a mortgage, trying to live the American dream. I don't feel too bad that the rich can't afford to buy another mansion this year when I see the middle class being foreclosed upon in record numbers by corrupt banks.
insurrektion 3 months ago
The corporate tax rate should be zero. Lower corporate taxes do create jobs. Furthermore, taxes on a regular C corps are a double tax on the owners, the share holders. They get taxed on profit and then again on dividends. Corporations and their owners pay way more than you think.
ConservativeLogic 6 months ago
Republicans say that big corporations need tax breaks so they can "create jobs.” Baloney! This is what they do with the money they keep: pay staggering salaries to their big bosses; ship American jobs overseas; and squeeze ever tighter the employees who remain. When in human history has a nation ever benefited from the tender mercy of the rich? Never, that’s when. It was the middle class who made this country great and now they are being sold down the river. Wake up folks!

AMERICA, REJECT THE REPUBLICAN LIE!
poindexterwitkowsky 7 months ago 3
@poindexterwitkowsky Um, in the year before the Reagan tax cut, we had a total of 99,303,000 jobs in 2007 - before the Democrats took over congress we had 146,047,000 jobs. That is an increase of 46,744,000 jobs - which is more jobs than ANY similar time frame in our history.
In addition, wages increased 9.28% FASTER than inflation - another VERY good period for the American worker.

The liberal lies must end.
ToddAldrich 7 months ago 2
@poindexterwitkowsky The corporate tax rate is the most important tax that needs to be low. Every european country has some of the lowest corporate tax rates, we have the highest in the world. ltkhokie1 7 months ago
Wow!
daveme7 7 months ago
@daveme7 Lol yea you obviously know more about economics than me.....Even your hero Obama said the corporate tax rate needs to be a lot lower. How is raising taxes going improve employment? @poindexterwitkowsky WOW TOTALLY. Instead, lets tax all the companies that create jobs so they stop hiring and increase layoffs. Then, we will add to our HUGE deficit we created by using that tax money for temporary short term jobs and extending unemployment benefits, AGAIN! We will also create MORE welfare programs we can't afford, where over 45% of the population doesn't contribute a dime for. YAY for taxing instead of cutting.
godmathias 6 months ago
I agree that Hiding Spending Doesn't Reduce Spending, and was glad to see the President in the room listening to this presentation. I am in my 50's have paid generously in to medicare & social security for 40 years, and am concerned with the future of these programs.
psweeney1000 7 months ago
@psweeney1000 You are right to be concerned. The President sat through this presentation, and then proceeded to continue with the plan that Ryan exposed as a fraud. He literally took $500 billion from medicare in order to fool people into believing that Obamacare was deficit neutral.
Ryan put forth a plan that GUARANTEES that people 55 and older will not have ANYTHING change, while those of us who are younger, get the SAME plan that congress has and it is indexed for inflation.
ToddAldrich 7 months ago
We've had 2 times when our country's debt was a hugher % of GDP - after the CW & WW2

ovjmora13 7 months ago
It's simple math. You can't spend what you do not have. Do not raise the debt ceiling because we can't afford it. Digging ourselves deeper is not going to fix anything. When times are good 40% of Americans do not have to pay their taxes b/c of special entitlements to the poor, dissabled, old etc . . . While they are not contributing their share of the burden the middle and upper class are paying the dues. The middle class and wealthy have been carrying the burden for the less fortunate
ovjmora13 7 months ago
Thanks to liberal policies America can no longer afford to pay for medicare, social security, unemployment and many other services. We also need to lower the minimum wage to $2/hr in order to compete with China and bring jobs back home. Fiscally responsible conservatives like Paul Ryan and John Boehner know this and are currently
working to end these wasteful handout programs and bring the minimum wage down so that America can be great again. God bless the GOP!

ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@ToddAldrich -- You write ''can you show me where such tax cuts have decreased revenues in the past?"
Sure - 1 example is the 1945 tax cuts as a result of coming out of the war...govt revenue was less than 1945 for the years 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949 & 1950
Another example was Reagan who bought into voodoo supply-side -- thinking cuts meant more revenue only to see drops on a monthly basis (1983 was less revenue than 1982) & then put in the biggest tax increase in US history & revenue soared
DillonDee9 7 months ago
DillonDee9 7 months ago
@DillonDee9 Thank you so much for allowing me to dispel this liberal LIE.
For starters, let's look at the lie you claimed with Bush's tax cuts.
Bush's 1st tax cut was passed in 2001 and aside from an inconsequential rebate, not ONE provision was put in place in that year - and THAT provision does not show up in the lower revenues figures - it was a CHECK FROM the government, not lower revenue received. So your claim that 2001 revenues went down because of the tax cuts - is a LIE.
ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@DillonDee9 Now lets look at the provisions of the 2001 tax cut that was in place for the year 2002 - and ----
SURPRISE!!!!! Once again, almost none of the provisions were in place yet - the exceptions being the lowest few income tax brackets and they make up such a small % of the revenue picture that once again, it was insignificant.
In fact, the major provisions of the 2001 tax cut were not scheduled to be phased in until after 2006 - that is until the 2003 tax cut sped up the phase-in.
ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@DillonDee9 The 2003 tax cut however accelerated the phase-in scheduling of the 2001 cuts and let's look at what happened once most of the provisions were actually in place.
According to Barack Obama's OWN, "2010 Economic Report of the President" revenues began to increase - and dramatically so.
In FACT, once the major portions of the Bush tax cuts were in place - revenues went from $1,782.3 billion in 2003 to $2,568.0 billion in 2007 That is an increase of over 44% in just 4 years.
ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@DillonDee9 So, just how do you and your ilk get off claiming the Bush tax cuts decreased the revenues, when they REVERSED a downward trend, and INCREASED revenues DRAMATICALLY.
Shall we go on to the Reagan tax policies that you lied about? I guarantee you that the TRUTH bears little resemblance to what you wanted to portray.
You see, your liberal sources are LYING to you but since you are not exposed to the ACTUAL facts, and are too lazy to fact check your sources, you look like a fool.
ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@DillonDee9 I ask - just how could Bush's tax cuts have caused the decreased revenues when they were not even in effect yet?
ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@ToddAldrich - oh, the Bush tax cuts of 2001 & 2003 were in effect during most of Bush's term
DillonDee9 7 months ago 16
@DillonDee9 How could the tax cuts have caused the decrease in revenues in 2000- 2003 when they were not yet in place.
The facts of the matter are that once they WERE in place, revenues began to grow dramatically.
ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@DillonDee9 They were NOT in place for the years you quoted that showed decreasing revenues. You LIED.
ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@DillonDee9 ANd jobs were created most of Bush's time - up until --- gee -- up until the Democrats regained control of Washington D.C.
ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@DillonDee9 And the unemployment rate was under 5% for half of Bush's presidency. That's with having the highest corporate tax rate in the world. Higher taxes do nothing but give more room to keep spending too much, and do nothing in the long term to increase revenue.

DillonDee9 7 months ago
@DillonDee9 OBama has LOST more jobs than Bush - he is in the NEGATIVES in terms of job creation.
You simply are lying.
ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@DillonDee9 Your figures are WAYYYyyy OFF.
Between the Bush tax cuts and when the Democrats took over Washington DC, 9.5 million jobs were created.
Source Barack Obama's OWN "2010 Economic Report of the President" table B-36
ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@DillonDee1 Your BS talking points only delay the fact that there is almost 10% unemployment with an exploding budget. Where is the "Change" we were promised? How many more terms does Obama need to turn this recession around? We got change alright--change to a failing economy with an inept leader.
kndrice 6 months ago
@DillonDee1 -- this man is insane -- remember that during the Bush terrn the DOW dropped more'n 600 pts on 3 separate days.
If the GOP keeps on trying to blackmail, THE DOW WILL LIKELY DROP MORE PTS THAN THAT BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH,
People will have 201K's again
DillonDee1 6 months ago
@DillonDee1 Exactly what is insane? You made a statement about Paul Ryan, didn't back it up, and then made a comment about the Dow. You people never argue the facts. Your knee-jerk reaction to attack the person shows your lack of thought or any consideration of the factual arguments being presented by Mr. Ryan. Is it that you leftists are incapable of making a sound counter-arguemant, or, are you just unwilling to do so?
Okay, now insert your personal attack of me below:

Paul Ryan... Democrats worst nightmare
EradicateLiberalism 7 months ago
@idicula1979 If you don't agree with Mr. Paul Ryan, you are only exposing your lack of understanding. Your inability to understand fundamental financial concepts and accounting of the treasury. This country has been on a path to ultimate doom every since the new deal, and even before that

This has been flagged as spam show
A massive re-distribution of wealth to the super-rich has occurred over the past decade...so that the top 10% now has 90% of the Financial Wealth of the nation.
Ryan wants to bring it up to 95% w/ his massive tax cuts for the super-rich
DillonDee1 8 months ago
@DillonDee1 LOL. ya its the rich peopls fault they have all the wealth. Darn them to heck for working hard and making all that money!!!! We should definitely take some of that hard earned money away and give it to all those poor people! Right on! Right on!
Typical Socialist ideology. This is scary stuff.
claysrig 7 months ago
@claysrig - there are 3 ways to be rich -
Inherit it
Marry it, or..
Make it.
Most fall, in large part, in the top 2 groups.
And if you look at the richest 10 Americans you'll find that those who made it -- think their taxes are too low, & those who married money or inherited it dont.

oh god this guy just blew my mind...as much as Joe Bite Me is stupid this guy makes sense, as we see from the 1300 exemptions from Obama Care
metalicboy 8 months ago
@metalicboy And yet you see people right here, that have no idea what his plan actually is, castigating the man and making all sorts of provably false allegations. The fact that there are this many uninformed people that vote is scary - UNLESS they are willing liars, and then they are simply scum.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
Do I really need to continue with the thousands of companies the are involved in the oil industry - or are the big corporations enough to prove my point?
They pay more in taxes than they make - and THEY do the work, THEY employ the people, THEY take the risk, THEY deal with the environmental kooks, THEY DO ALL of the work and yet the government takes the majority of the gains.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich My god you're a moron. It's just astounding.
RamenReturns 8 months ago
@RamenReturns Show me where I'm wrong. Instead of using your programed ignorant response, deal with what I said. WHERE am I wrong?
That is not an unreasonable position. If I am a moron, show me where my facts are wrong - but prove it. I have sourced my facts and they show the Democrats are lying , and Ryan is absolutely correct.
But then, since I am a moron, you should EASILY be able to show my facts to be wrong. Go ahead, I dare you.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich No thanks. The appropriate response for someone as jaw-droppingly stupid as yourself is ridicule and scorn. You can go ahead and think you're smart and right, I really don't give a fuck what morons think in general.
Have a great day! :)
RamenReturns 8 months ago
@RamenReturns In other words, you CAN'T find anything wrong with what I or Ryan said. All you have is your talking points your masters programed you to parrot.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich You spelled "programmed" wrong.
Twice.
RamenReturns 8 months ago
@RamenReturns And you were just plain wrong. But like the leftist you are, you don't have any actual facts on your side, so you just lie about and smear those you disagree with.
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich I'm not lyin' bro you spelled a really simple word wrong. TWICE! I mean this isn't some $25 word, this is just elementary English. Any moderately intelligent 4th grader can spell this word. I promise you that I'm telling the truth!!!
RamenReturns 8 months ago
@RamenReturns It's the first time in your life you've told the truth - and of course it is on a petty thing. Typical leftist, distract, misdirect and change the subject.
Why not deal with the topic?
ToddAldrich 8 months ago
@ToddAldrich The topic is your sheer stupidity, and I think I've covered it thoroughly. Do you need it in bullet points? Can you get your mom to come help you understand or something?

Paul Ryan is in favor of reducing spending? The same Paul Ryan that voted in support of the Wall Street bailouts? LOL
What a joke this bastard is.
