Dr. Eades, I love your book Protein Power Lifeplan, and your blog. You really explain the science behind low-carb.
Anyway, I just wanted to mention the actual origin of Americano. If you Wiki it, here's what it says:
"The name derives its origins from WW2 when American GIs in Europe would pour hot water into espresso to approximate the coffee to which they were accustomed."
It is so good to see you Dr. Eades. I love your books and your nutritional program saved my health and my skin (basically got rid of adult acne after starting your Protein Power Lifestyle). Please, keep on posting. Greetings to your wife.
Update to my post above: I often have a Cafe Americano at
Chuao Chocolatier in my "neighborhood shopping center" and I asked them to float the Espresso on top of the water the other day instead of the opposite. It was absolutely delicious! Much, much better and more flavorful.
Hello GMontyG. You can use something as simple as the Barista Espresso machine from Starbucks in order to make this. That is what we have and it works beautifully. Best of luck.

Actually, the espresso machine does not press steam through the coffee. It's just hot, pressurized water.

I enjoyed this video. Reminded me of the old low carb cookworx show.
