  • mostly ihh mite b the O rings or how every there callD i had that problem n changed them n it stopped

  • And the up and down idle may not be a tuning issue but it can b a vacuum leak, or just yhe throttle body itself. Mine does that, and when i cover the hole a bit, it stops.. :/

  • Woah.. definately not normal my G.. blue smoke is burning oil, not sure if it was blue-ish in person buy u may wana check piston rings/seals, etc.. hope u get it fixed. Nice teggy

  • i would do b20v or gsr turbo for myself, but i spend so much money on this gsr build and only got to drove it for 1000miles :(

  • I was thinkin B20V or boosting my B16A... Not boosting a b20V. You could do a poor mans typeR.....

  • Did you stay with the gsr head or go b16a head? How hard was the b20 to build. I'm thinkin about goin that route or boosting... Not sure yet and it's still my work car (500miles a week) so it's gotta be reliable till I get a diff work car

  • @Okhatchie92 don't do b20v turbo, won't be reliable. I'm still deciding what i wanna do with my gsr motor still.

  • @Okhatchie92 yep those are drop engineering mounts, they are hella stiff.

  • white smoke=water blue smoke= oil. Most times worn or dried out valve seals can be the cause for oil burning. Could also be that the head gasket isnt making a good seal and your getting a little water in the combustion chamber.

  • just curious man, what ended up being the problem? i read all the comments but i didnt seem to catch the right problem. im doing a similar build and my car smokes too. when i rev it it smokes more. then the smokes lessens. i think i might have a pvc problem. but when i let it sit for a while without starting it it smokes A LOT, for a while, im going to replace the valve seals and see if that fixes it. i think when it sits there the oil runs down them slowly into the combustion chamber. 

  • sounds like your timming is also off by a tooth. if it idles up and down slow like that. make the timming perfect and you will notice a smoother idle and increase in horsepower, from my experience.

  • @jdmintegragsr626 is your car still smoking..? did you put new valve seals and made sure the piston ring are seating right when putting it back in the block.... im still waiting on that dyno video though.

Good Ride. oh dont forget to level ur air to fuel ratios for ur motor to last in good health. it helps .plus u can prob still make emissions if u do.running to rich will melt ur cat and destroy ur 02 sensors. incase u drive it daily.for track dont worry so much lol.ok take care .

  • u may also make sure u re adjusted ur valves .a lot of people dont re adjust and their car runs like shit. Break in slow,dont be hitting vtec if it aint ready u will fry ur rings early. wont seal right.never reuse old rings .reset ur main idle too bro. look it up GOOGLE. that will fix ur surge. also sounds like u have a small exhaust leak around ur headers or something when u rev-ved it. just a little thing to look at . ok good luck!

  • @ZChav yep know about the re adjusting the valves and piston rings are new arias rings. and yea my header is actually leaking from the top where it connects to the head as i reused a cheap metal gasket. Man i give you alot of props for knowing alot just by listening and looking at the video.

  • By the looks of the smoke, you have coolant mixed inside

  • @notorioussouljur i don't lose any coolant at all, I think the reason why it smoke is because when i wash my car, i spray water in my exhaust lolz i spray inside of it alot FK. I just recently got 360cc injectors , fuel regulator/guage and fuel filter. Its running hella rich right now around 48-50. I did take out the headers and ran open header, no smoke.

  • Its white smoke tht means water or coolant in the cumbustion chambers.. if it was running rich it would b black.. oil is light blue..

  • @chrstn818 its pretty weird, every morning i start it up, it shoot smoke out and stop right after. When i start to drive, it smoke for about 2 blocks and then stop after that. This happen everyday and my motor now has 720miles on it. My coolant in my radiator is always normal level meaning i'm not losing coolant. Not burning Oil either, did a leak down test, everything dry.

  • fasho bro hope u hit good numbers i recently got my car tune @ inlinefour and didnt even engage vtec since no oil preasure seem like i didnt have enough clearance on a bad build. it was gsr block pct pistons arp bolt top to bottom mild port b16 crower goodies with blox hsl cams degreed at -2 and 0 and shit had 170 hp wid no vtec on torco gas preety good for no vtec.. but hope u dont end up like me with junk tune and left the shop wid sad face =[

  • @omgitzshrooms Right now my motor has 600miles on it and still smoke while driving for abour 5mins. As for my vtec, it lag like a mother. Meaning when i hit vtec, it just lag for about 7secs and then start to pull.

  • the smoking problem could be your pistons rings cuz i did a rebuilt on my gsr with pct piston and the rings didnt seal right or wasnt gap corectly and starting to smoke like that.

  • @omgitzshrooms ok, ima just drive it until i break it in and then get it tuned. Well see man, i hope theirs nothing wrong.

  • ditch that oil pan and use a stock one man that moroso leak like mother on my homie car and he switch it gone!!

  • @omgitzshrooms reason why it leaks is becuz i didn't use teflon tape on it. They said you suppose to use it. I'm getting a new moroso oil pan tomorrow but just gonna use the drain bolts and plugs and wrap it with teflon.

  • what break-in oil did you use and what are you running in it now. the engine is probably still breaking in also, but thats white smoke which means extra fuel..running rich wont hurt you..also its a vtec engine and those naturally burn a little oil, but you would notice if it was burning alot of oil ie black smoke. try checking you PCV aswell

  • @wam1004 my mechanic told me to use 10-w30 non synthetic motor oil for now until 1K miles. For oil burning, i am not sure as my moroso oil pan is leaking somewhat alot from the drain bolt and the extra plug. Gonna get that fix this week.

  • from what I experiences b4 was the block bore just a little mistake on the bore will make smoke. Try drive it for about 500 miles to break in the piston rings and if it still making smoke and your starting to loose motor oil. That is your block being bore just a little bigger then 81.5mm. I learn that the hard way my block started knocking so I had to strip down the motor again. Bought a stock block 81mm, new piston, new rings, put everything back on start it up and didn't make any smoke at all

  • @integraB17A1 i really hope not because i only have 1 car to work and this built took me 4 weeks lolz. As i didn't state in the description, my Moroso Oil Pan is leaking pretty bad. Not sure if this is the reason for the smoke or maybe the lube from the cams and everything else still setting in.
