I don't think we'd be weakening our defense system if Bush were in office. Obama has taken our missle defense system down and has been flatout weak on foreign policy. Due to the banking system meltdown that Obama inherited, more jobs were lost and the trend was continuously downwards which meant that not only did he have to find a way to create jobs, he needed to find a way to keep people working so they don't loose theirs and add to the unemployment figures.
We are out of recession and the Dow is doing okay. Employment is a lagging indicator and depends on consumer confidence as well as banks willingness to lend. That will take a couple of months.
