I feel much the same way as you about it, "preserve your memories. .", but under different circumstances, of course. S&G's partner song to this should be 'old friends'. I recorded this with my wife and partner and we intentionally tried to make it organic and real and was all parts were recorded live without overdubbing. Thank you again - I get many comments on my songs and none as poignant.
I remember being out on exercise thirty one years ago with a Unit and it was bitterly cold, well before the time of walkmans or MP3 players and I sang this to myself coming off the snow covered tops into the shelter of a valley, it played in my head and I still remember EVERY WORD. I have now retired from service, "Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you". Without comparison.
