  • i Want that shirt.

  • He Might be kinda ugly but that dude can sing like Keven from REO Sweepwagon :)

  • I LOVE Elton John He rocks like heack

  • Today...forty years of this show.

  • Sir Elton is one of the few artists(past or present) that sounds just as good live as in the studio!

  • very beautiful> The emotion just soaks his > MUSIC

the man of emotional communication through vocals & fingers

  • This is timeless beauty.

  • Yep. This is First Class. Heard it on the Chris Evans Show on BBC Radio 2 this morning.

  • there is only the best

    only the best

  • its amazing to think this song is over 40 years old.. a timeless classic!

  • Never in the song is the word "love" mentioned.

If this isn't a love song, I don't know what is.

  • wow. this song came 16 years before i was even born and im sososo loving it right now>

  • Why would anyone want to lay on John Lennon's sheets?

  • This is my third favorite Elton song. (Rocket Man is 1st, The B*tch Is Back is 2nd.)

  • I think it's even more beautiful than the album version (which is saying something).

  • moving...

  • Hold meee! Closer tiny dancer!!!

  • Amazing.

  • i just cant believe he did it with this song.... others of his have magnitude like candle in the wind or ticking but this one holds complex song structure that builds and looses your following it right before your ears, even if you are/were following along. if nothing else, this video proves the power of voice and piano combination. the statues of music can do this, Paul, John, Elton, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Marvin Gaye.... need i go on

  • intense shirt....

  • Always cracks me up; And then makes me smile with its beity. har har har har

  • Remember this on the juke box when it first came out at the local bar while in college. Everyone would kind of stop talking and listen to it.

  • @Richard2003 Yeah, then we'd follow it up with 'Crocodile Rock' and the whole joint would start shakin' again . . . good times!

  • Little did we know tiny dancer meant someones c**k

  • dancing in the sand......

  • Who needs a band when your elton john.

  • i love this song.

  • I'll have to thank my older brother for being an Elton fan,I remember him listening to "Madman Across the Water","Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" etc etc on vinyl,if not for the good taste in music my family had I dread to think what I'd be listening to now.

  • one of the best ways to combine piano w/ good music... other than classical

  • What a superb performance - I saw him live in 2010 in Youngstown, what an outstanding show.

  • met him and was able to thank him for Empty Garden. Just he and I. He was effected. Thanks Elton. You are one of a kind.

  • This is the song I wish to play at my wedding, my GF reminded me of it and it almost fits our story, she may not be a seamstress but she was part of the colorgaurd which is close enough to being a ballerina, I'm a music man myself and we love each other, I want her to hold mr because she's my tiny dancer

  • he wrote this when he was 24 WWWWOOOOWWWW. I was still sucking my thumb at 24 now 42

  • Elton was 24 when he wrote this, Im 25 and am still working the same pedestrian job ive had since I was 17. What am I doing with my life?

  • @bushbasher85 Same here ... I'm 32 ..

  • Just so talented, seems effortless.

  • hold me close tony danza...

  • @Ackdacka LOL!!

  • @Ackdacka :s

  • audioripit daht cahm.

  • audofier daht cahm.

  • Amazing how strong his voice was in those days - sits a long way back from the mic

  • bands have seamstresses?

  • @boobies123abc I thought everyone knew that... ;-)

  • "Hold me closer, Tony Danza

Count the head lice on the highway"

  • @marlonrn you're an idiot lol

  • @marlonrn lay me down like sleezy lennon

  • Oh & Elton John was rather attractive back in the day :)

  • This gives me chills... :)

    Oh how I love Elton...

  • This is my fav Elton tune

  • Elton's new album The Union, with Leon Russell, is superb

  • Lmfao @ hold me closer tony danza hahahaha !

    Great tune though !!

  • Being a pianist, this is the type of performance I LOVE, because you get to hear the song in its purest form, and get to really listen to the song's structure without any accompaniment. Thank you for posting!

  • Lovin the shirt Elton! He rocks my world j:o)

  • clom prunty loves this song

  • Back when he still had his voice.

  • @habs25in08 Yes it was a very different young pure voice and now he can't manage those early career high notes. Still, he managed to impress a lot of people at the Grammys with Gaga.

  • I'd never seen Elton so emotional as he is between 4:55 and 5:05.Very nice to see that.

  • swagger...

  • swagger...

  • swagger...

  • swagger....

  • swagger....

  • I agree with Kakarot21591,it sounded better then the yamaha piano he plays now

  • When I watch Almost Famous, I play the scene where they sing tiny dancer over and over and some times I put in the movie just to hear tiny dancer. I only have one Elton record, it has the bitch is back on it and dad gave me his Elton John greatest hits on it, but no tiny dancer. I inevitability love this song.

  • Nice. Very good performance.

  • He's never performed it better than he does here.

  • GREAT performance of this song, he was on fire!

  • @jcarty123 P.S. Unfortunately, the upload or transfer process (not sure which) has introduced some distortion of the sound.

  • great song reminds me of my childhood

  • beautiful music; beautiful man.

  • IMHO, I think Elton sounded a lot better with a Steinway... I know now he only performs on a Yamaha Disklavier, but I loved these early videos of him on Steinways. It added a lot more depth to his solo piano performances...

  • @Kakarot21591 Totally agree - the piano sound itself had more emotion in it. The piano sound he uses today is a mix of Yamaha and Roland grand piano samples even though he plays a grand piano on stage you don't hear the actual piano. I think his piano sound since he gave up playing the Steinways has been tinny and rubbish

  • ....Elton And Bernie's...Modern Masterpiece.....

  • amazing song

  • i love you elton

  • there is only one ELTON

  • @ranchoboyeros

    and several, several Johns

  • i love the way he wobbles his voice at the end of each phrase superb voice

  • Simply AMAZING!

  • uclrichard..... u said it all brother!!

  • staggeringly talent bloke.

his hair looks similiar than today - what a voice and what a talent for lyric interpretation...as well as musical composition...in short - a genius of modern pop/rock music - in and out of fashion...still a credit to both english and american music...

  • uclrichard i hope you realize elton john did not write the lyrics for this song....

  • That's why he said lyric INTERPRETATION and MUSIC composition, neither of which actually have the first thing to do with WRITING the lyrics.

    *sigh*

  • @uclrichard

Agree with what you said mostly; except for a credit for American music...

  • @uclrichard You know they dubbed Billy Joel ' The Piano Man' but I think that suited Elton John much better. He certainly was a better piano player and all around performer. Nothing really against Billy Joel, just between the 2 men's similarities I prefer Elton.
