I saw these guys at the NArooma blues n rockabilly in Australia and I was blown away by the whole band, but particularly surprising was the guitar player. I thought 'am I just drunk', but, its great to see agreement about his talent! Musselwhite still wry and powerful. Great show.
There's no question that Charlie Musselwhite has the veteran's keen ear for young, blues guitar talent; Matt Stubbs is a perfect compliment to Charlie's harp. I hope that Matt is able to breakout from New England with his exposure during Charlie's 2009 tour. I saw this same lineup in Colorado on 11/11/09 and I was mesmerized with the old/young talent, outstanding delivery and the best live sound quality that I've heard in person in ten years.
I got it a while ago. I didn't use a mic, it had a built in one. I think it cost about $300. Btw kevin, where in the crowd were you, I might remember seeing you.
great video of one of the greatest blues harp players alive today..I was there again for the greatest blues festival in North America and not disappointed at seeing some of the greatest blues people ever
I just love playing these songs. I did a gig recently with the transcriptions of these vids and I had a great time. It seems everyone loves Charlie Musselwhite, and thats the way it should be.
