  • OMG the tshirt your wearinf is awesome!!!

  • looks like u just shaved ur beard.

  • Your shirt. Where did you get it? It's beautiful.

  • I'm a guy and I still watched this! D=

  • Thanks do you happen to know how or should I say what I can do with tight shirts in very good condition. I have lots of tight shirts that dont fit anymore but I would love to recycle these and reuse them but I dont know how. Any ideas??

  • Im a guy and I actually find this video useful xD

  • has anyone tried making a shirt a v-neck?

  • hey, this is a very useful video for dudes, and i'll tell ya why. i like to wear my button down shirts with the top 2 buttons undone. i always wear an undershirt, but with even the deepest v necks, the undershirt still shows. so i've taken to cutting off the collars and cutting deep vs into them. now i can do it better. WOOT.

  • now I need to know the best way to turn the extra large ones into girl shirts without funking up the sleeves

  • @froregon turning the shirt inside out and then tracing on it a shirt that does fit you, cut off the sleeves, pin and sew the large shirt, and then cut & sew the sleeves back on...

  • @Thestralsxxx I find that gay guys people always dress the best, not to mention that they're usually the best looking as well, so don't worry 'bout it :)

  • it is a good idea for some t-shirts

  • @yaypurplecheese hell yes.

  • I'm male and I actually did this! (But then again, I'm gay...)

  • I just bought a t-shirt on vacation that I'm not too crazy about so I'll probably try this with it!

  • Yes! I love learning new things! Thanks!

  • Love that you worked with gunnarolla!

  • thats cool

  • What if you have an XL tshirt and you're a size small? :/

  • My problem with the most shirts is that they are to baggy. Is there an easy way to get them to fit better?

I think I'm going to try out the shirt thing since my alice in wonderland hat turned out quite good. I haven't taken pictures of it yet but I will soon :)

  • OH, GOD, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO A PERFECTLY GOOD SHIRT?

  • I watched this video, modified my shirt and got a weird look from my sister. I guess that was probably to be expected...

  • I was super interested in today's video. I'm also a guy. So, there.

  • I made a shirt before... and let me just say.... that's how i hemmed it.. and it was wrong it's suppost to be folded over twice so that it doesn't fray along the edge... what's worse... i'm a guy and was interested enough to watch this? or that i actualy know something about it :S

  • Another thing you could do instead of folding it over, is use a funky colored bias tape (about 1/2 - 3/4" single fold) instead. :)

  • I really liked the striped T-shirt you cut in the video. Where is that from?

  • so doing this at some point. Thanks Karen!

  • Awesome video. I'll consider trying this as I have a LOT of shirts :)

  • Can you do a tutorial on how to use a stripper pole? Please :)

  • finally I've been waiting for this!

  • I do this ALL THE TIME. I take plain shirts and print things on them. I make sleeves shorter. Take in the waist. Fix the collar. Is very much fun, yes.

  • Why shouldn't boys watch this?

  • I appreciate the link. Love you Karen, but I'm leaving :D

  • I'm a guy and I like and watched the video the whole way through. :D

  • can you make a "how to modify your t-shirt part two"? where you can show us some more difficult things to do with the t-shirt? :D

  • Karen, you're so cool and pleasant.

  • You know, I think you are my idol. You have inspired me so much (and taught me a lot about typography) I would love to see more vids about your artwork or design work. :D

  • have you ever tried dyeing shirts in some cool, trendy way?

  • I'm a guy and I still watched this just because. :)

  • I've been doing this to a lot of my t-shirts for a while now, but I usually cut it directly below the neckline because otherwise it can get a bit too low-cut for my taste. I've never, hemmed the collars before, though, so maybe I'll try that soon!

  • loved this! :D

  • don't divide the genders! :)

  • I'm bad at sowing and cutting, so I don't think I'll do this any time soon. :P

  • Aaaah! Thank you!! I've been looking forward to this video for ages. *goes to get scissors* I'll let you know how it turns out!

  • Omg. @xperpetualmotion replied to my comment. *dies* #mademylife

  • I do this EVERY time I aquire a tshirt. :D

  • I couldn't help but notice your Kevin MacLeod music.

  • Dude... that intro is a little gender normative don't you think?

  • Karen I love this!! I just made a bag out of one of my tshirts that was way too big (I get a lot of free large shirts haha), but I want to do this for my ones that actually fit so I'll want to wear them more! :) Thanks!

  • I am the kind of hairy guy for whom a "flattering neckline" is possibly a turtleneck.

  • "Well that's not fair" says the male viewer

  • I should really do this... I have about a bajillion t-shirts. Thanks!

  • Thank you so much for showing us! :)

  • Great seeing you again Karen. :)

Alas, I'm not sure how flattering a lower neck line would look on me, but it's more flattering than when I ripped my jeans while sitting down this weekend. #oops

  • sexist

  • Your a fellow Slytherin!!!!!! :D

  • Yesss I've had a couple of old shirts saved to try this since you mentioned it a while ago. :p Question - doesn't the stitching unravel because you cut it?

  • @marillbuddy No, not on a regular t-shirt. At least not in my experience.

  • @omgitsbecki Oh, okay. Thanks! c :

  • I have to try this! :]

  • Show us how to make the google letters!

  • @ExeptionallyOrdinary I'll get to that video soon!

  • love your BttF t-shirt! i vote for a Modify A T-Shirt part 2: all about sleeves. XD

  • @KatielouCurtis haha, I don't know if I'm the best person to do that. I usually just start randomly pinning the sleeves with safety pins until it looks halfway decent.

  • This girl looks like Sue from "The Middle" xD

  • i modified my t-shirts once... into a quilt.

  • Sweet deal! Will have to do this to some of my shirts!

  • @eeks1120 Good luck!

  • "were all girls now" dam!!!! i stayed and watched

  • OMG YOU GOT THE SLYTHERIN MARKET 8D

    I want a Gryffindor and Slytherin :C

  • Oh.. I guess.. I guess I'll just leave then... bye.

  • @JakeGoesVroom cya!

  • My favorite way to modify t-shirts is to take in the sleeves. Most tees are in men's sizes, and they tend to swallow my lady-sized biceps. I like to take in the sleeves at the seam near the armpit about an inch or two, and they fit much better.

  • I'm a guy and I stayed... on principle. I'll always support a video teaching women how to wear lower cut shirts.

  • I can't think of any tshirts I want to modify right now, but this is definitely something I'll keep in mind from now on.... thanks for the info!

  • You smile a lot:) I'm gonna subscribe now:)))

Way too hard for my simple minded brain to try:P

  • @RaynaOfSunshine Thanks for subscribing!

  • I'm a heterosexual male who watched.... I need to learn some stitches for costume making... Hot glue doesn't always cut it, despite my best attempts :P

  • @itsciwi Someone needs to get on inventing stretchy hot glue.

  • I actuall prefer not having my t-shirts like that. I have this spot on my shoulder, and if i can see that, my shirt is too low down. Fun fact..

  • I think you're adorable. Haha.

Great tutorial, as well. : )

  • I don't know why you thought guys wouldn't be interested in knowing how to modify a T-shit. although personally I think your example shirt looked better with the collar. Usually it's not that guys don't care about fashion, but that clothing stores don't care about providing variety for us to choose from. Knowing how to turn the boring options into more interesting things is a useful skill to have.

  • im a guy and i stayed :)

  • this was a very cool tutorial!!

  • Some of us guys like to know about t-shirt modification too. Don't underestimate us. Just saying.

  • omg i'm going to fix all of my tshirts right now, thank you soooo much you have no idea how helpful this is .

  • @devilishR91 I'm glad you liked it!

  • How about sleeves? (I'm a guy)

  • Silly gender stereo-types, I shouldn't be discouraged from needle-work and clothes modifying

  • 02:20 QUESTION: Can you make a tutorial WITHOUT a shirt? :D

  • Lower lower... :D

  • I like this tutorial but i have to say i love your Back to the Future tee!

  • @Hazie995 I got it from TeeFury!

  • I do this all the time --- when you have breasts, a man's t-shirt cut doesn't let your girls breathe!!

  • Like if WHATTHEBUCK sent you here,

  • graphic design portfolio video!

  • @DonAlfee oh darn, you caught me.

  • @xperpetualmotion -highfive-

  • @xperpetualmotion I think he meant a person guy, not a dude guy

  • @DonAlfee +1

  • I'd like to know how to make a video thumbnail! Photoshop for idiots :D

  • @shessomickey I talked about thumbnails in my Intro to Color Theory video! But this is an interesting idea, I may do it someday.

  • I went to a music festival last month. They had amazing t-shirts. Unfortunately, the smallest size they had was a medium, and I'm a small person. Actually, right after I bought it, I cut off the collar, but it's still really large and baggy and I'm currently (at this moment, actually) using it as a coverup for the beach. Is there an easy way to make it smaller/more of a fitted shirt? Thanks!

  • @mollielie You can use a large safety pin to gather the extra fabric at your lower back, which gives it more of a defined waist. If it's way too big, this can look a little weird though, so I'd suggest sewing the sleeves so they're not so baggy and then sewing up both sides of the shirt in a wide semicircle to fit the curve of your body. Try it with safety pins before you start sewing, and if you can't get it right, just turn it into a pillow or something xD

  • @xperpetualmotion I'll definitely try that. Thanks!

  • Hey I'm a guy, and I mend my clothes, and I enjoy an occasional sewing and knitting. That being said I probably won't be lowering the neckline of my shirts any time soon, but good tutorial!

  • I do the same thing! Mom hates me, lol

  • omg that made the shirt so much cuter! i gotta try this! Thanks Karen :)

  • I'm a guy. It was interesting, but I don't think I will ever do it. I'm lazy.

  • I'm so shocked, when I didn't see this come up in my sub box but did see the tweet. I thought I was already subscribed to you!

  • @RCBeiler haha, well thanks for subscribing :)

  • Hand sewing drives me up the wall.

  • @YellowPsych I actually find it pretty relaxing, especially with a cheesy sitcom from the 90s on in the background.

  • @xperpetualmotion Omg no. I'll die.

  • I'm a guy and I stayed :D

  • Thats so awesome! I love my shirts the way they are... So I might just leave them that way. But i may do this at some point. If i did i shall video tape my results :)

  • Thank you :)

  • I'm a dude.... am I not wanted?

  • I'm a dude! I would love to hear your thoughts on logo design. I think I have a pretty good logo, but I would still like to hear your ideas on logo theory.

  • i joined the girl party moo ha ha ha

and i want to lower some necklines now

  • @songstowearpantsto You better not give us cooties!

  • by watching this you just showed me why i cant stand low neck lines your bra strap is showing

  • I'm so, so lazy when it comes to modifying my t-shirts. I never hem the necklines of my t-shirts. I'm just cut it to wear I want it and let it fray.

  • Comment removed

  • This is super interesting!!

  • @WHATTHEBUCKSHOW Thanks Buck!

  • i hate low neck lines this isnt the vid for me but it was still interesting to know how to do it because i had a friend who did that to all of her shirts

and this is a ha bisky vlog thx for the knowlege

  • I'm a guy.....and I found it somehow interesting

  • I get a lot of shirts from thinkgeek and I always get the unisex ones because they cheaper, but you are right. They are not flattering at all. Lol i dont mind as long as they say or show something nerdy. yay

  • @DrWho42Scifi The female cut ones are so worth the extra dollar or two though - they fit so much better!

  • I'm NOT a guy, and I stayed. Does that count? XD

  • Im a guy and I stayed

  • @TotallyTommeh im a girl but tend to be one of the guys and i stayed as well

  • @TotallyTommeh Ditto

  • this is more interesting than the party time youtuber video, and I'm a guy!

  • Great video, I love modifying t-shirts!

  • I stayed!

  • I care :(

  • Yes, we do care about T-shirts.

  • im a guy. i stayed lol

  • Never ever been first ever... seriously?! sweet.
