  • 3 young scots doing their damndest to strike a memorable pose...and inventing a music to transport them MILES away from their tawdry, grey background.

  • @andreaprodan wot a lot of crapbag, fife's a wonderful place and Liz is back here now living in a small castle of the coast of auchtermucktuckle

Robin's done so well he owns dunfermline and has a stake in lochgelly/lumphinans but the locals are holding out for 3 pence a tattie

  • Simon's bald as a billiard ball now.

  • can someone list all the songs they play short clips of? I didn't recognize all of them, granted I'm new to Liz/Cocteau twins tho.

  • @IcyScythe The one at the beginning of the video is 'Aikea-Guinea', the second one where she performs is 'Love's Easy Tears', the third one with the outdoor video is 'Pearly Dewdrops-Drops', the fourth one is 'Aikea-Guinea' again, the next two after that is 'Song to the Siren' by This Mortal Coil, and the final one is a repeat of 'Love's Easy Tears'.

  • lol it's funny if I saw them walking down the street I'd think they were totally bonkers... but I looove their music

  • they are wrecked, and scottish and amazing. business as usual then...!!

  • LOL I gotta admit I love their music but they look like they're fucking insane hahaha XD

  • i wonder if people in 20 years watching videos from nowadays find the haircuts just as odd as I find these.

  • That Robin guy kind of makes me think of Sean Astin for some strange reason......LOL

  • Im just going for a poo....Be right backj

  • liz is very attractive.

  • @NMillar917

it's not how he talks, it's the silly expression on his face. that and the fact he barely speaks and just sort of mouthbreaths haha. soo high.

  • Whispererzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • lol, that chemotherapy punker look.

with their soft spoken rambling comments you'd think they were some forgettable offbeat dreamer band. you'd never know you are looking at one of the greatest most visionary artistic groupings of the 20th century.

  • Comment removed

  • One of the key groups of exceptional, unforgettable 4AD's vintage...

  • Its like a hatrick? ( or a turkey? ) of bad hair days ...

Great band, I saw em in Vegas during the tour for Leaving ... I mean Heaven or, ...

WTF! , something to do with , Oh, I know ... Victorialand!.

  • Which music videos are playing from 1:56 to 2:12 and from 2:43 to 2:56? Thanks again

  • @metaclip Pearlz Dewdrops Drops & Aikea Guinea in that order.

  • @pur69 Awesome, thanks so much.

  • I'm just becoming familiar with the Cocteau Twins' body of work. What song is playing at the beginning of the clip? Thanks

  • @metaclip

    Spanglemaker I believe.

This seems to be from the early mid 80s,

so check the EPs from that time too.

For a more authentic listening experience,

consider that we listened primarily on vinyl & cassette,

so we generally put the needle on the record

    & let it play through,

letting the music wash over us,

    trying to contain the emotion...

  • @metaclip It's Aikea-Guinea

  • song to the siren

  • I'm sorry for having to ask this, but can anyone tell me what that great song she is singing at the end is called? Thanks.

  • @xXElMananaXx One of my favourites too, it's 'Love's Easy Tears' off a 3-track 12" from 1986...

    Love's Easy Tears

    Those Eyes That Mouth

    Sigh's Smell Of Farewell

When it was re-released on CD, an extra track was added called 'Orange Appled', all really beautiful songs

  • @chrisnoaro1 Thanks so much!

  • They are so cool, he is so stoned, music is divine, she is so beautiful and unsexy at same time-one of favorite from the early youth

  • Just getting into them, what album should I start with?

  • Treasure

  • @DuplexPaladins

    Treasure

  • @DuplexPaladins "Treasure" and "Heaven Or Las Vegas"

  • @DuplexPaladins Victorialand

  • My favorite band ... ever

  • God I Love them...and I am what you would term a metal/punk guy...go figure! Heaven or Las Vegas is my alltime favorite CD...and the Smiths "How Soon Is Now (album version) my favorite song.

  • Great stuff.. I had never seen an interview with them.. Simon was a driving force..

  • Does anyone the name of the song @ 1:58? I can't make out the lyrics, obviously.

  • Pearly Dewdrops' Drops

  • Pearly Dewdrops Drops :)

  • Thanks peachly

  • that song is "Pearly Dew Drops Drop." I cant remember the original EP its from but you can find it on "The Pink Opaque."

  • I Love La Liz! Love the Cocteaus, their lovely Scottish accents & wild Robert Smith/Siouxsie hair & neato New Wave

    earrings!!!! Awesome

  • Oh my...the hair.

  • Robin se tomó toda la Pepsi.

  • Robin is so high!

  • if you can...why not...

    I fucking love Robin

  • @robin you are not in the jesus and mary chain!

  • AAARRGGHHH!!

Any minute I expect Godzilla to come stomping into the interview session!

This is just too cruel to try a mind meld and mentally synchronize this mess... yeesh. I had to listen without looking at it. Thanks for sharing, though.

  • is the sound out of sync with the pix. Is the tall lad paul raymond from the review bar and UFO keyboard man> two are ock nocks and raymonde is a normal person - he sounsd quite poash actullly

  • I agree.

  • One of the worst examples of the curse of youtube - bad synchronization! It makes an interesting interview into a weird kind of mental exercise.

  • They were the real punks! I love them, especially Liz;

Do you know where this interview was taken?

  • I finally found out that it was taken in 1986, if this is right.

  • It definately was an interview when music was taken more seriously than it is now days.

  • I don't know why but Liz's voice has always made me cry. I don't know what she's singing about most of the time but it wrenches my heart out.

  • One reason why I like her voice is that she sings in her Scottish accent, which is quite rare outwith folk music.

  • I used to have hair like that back when, oh the 80's were a HEADY time weren't they, used to have to slide down in the driver's seat of my car in order for my hair to fit.

  • This posting is soooo cool: an actual Cocteau Twins interview!!! One of my ALL-Time fave bands ever!!!

  • Ah! The hair! The hair! =) Thank you for this.

  • The video and audio are way off sync. You really should fix that... They would probably kick you if they saw it off sync like this.

  • where did u get this ?its so clear.and liz was so cool .she kept saying "A NO"(japanese)

  • It's just her accent. She's saying "I know".

  • They are the greatest! They look so bloody young here!
