Hey pepperwhite want 2 know how u may have missed this one? It is what is called a deep cut. It does not appear on greatest hits or compilations. The best way to enjoy it for years to come is to get a cd of 1974 So What? Every song is awsome. I have album, 8 track, cassette, and 2 cd's. One of my all time fav's. I always keep one cd in house and carry another with me.
I've never been a big fan of the drums as I know pretty much nothing about them so this is a huge compliment. This drummer is amazing. I'm a huge fan of Joe Walsh and this is a great song but I kept hitting replay to listen to the drummer. I may not know much about drums, but I do know talent when I hear it. Very impressive. Actually, there is nothing BUT talent in this band.
Maybe it's just how I see it, but it's truly sad how the music industry treats these amazing musicians from the '70's. These guys gave birth to what we now know as "GREAT" Rock and yet they get very little, if any airplay. It seems they bleed the cash cow dry and send it off to pasture, never to open the gate again. The radio stations are just as bad. Presently, there are some really good bands out there. Problem is, not nearly enough to fill a radio stations airtime with quality music.
One thing Joe doesn't do is hurry - he takes his time, and the music is delicious and mesmerizing as a result - totally American Midwest rock, he's an American classic
I just love your video to this song. I find I keep playing it over and over and never tire of it. It looks like a nice family outing. The song matches your video. All the best to you trichoone and thanks for posting this. Few guys could write laid back tunes like Walsh.
... where has innovation like this gone ? I am not hearing it on the corporate agenda's airwaves? did you know that essentially all available stations are boughten up by special interest ? .... sad
I agree with revup67 re the drumming, it's exceptional. I listen to this track almost on a daily basis, and the drums give me goosebumps every time. Perfect.
A really nice posting. The song brings back such great memories and the video is really cool. The guitar solo thru the headphones was one of the best ever!
This person is (and please accept this comment from a lover of Daltrey, reed, cooper, Anderson, Lake, Dylan, Cohen, Mitchell, Gucci mane, Bufalo Tom, Yes, and Placebo. Joe and ZZ top were among my indoctrinizeres. I miss it so much. If anyone went to Shadow mtn. High in 76-78 , leave a mess. I'm always list. to Joe.
Is this from the LP record album? It's been along time since I've heard those "pops" that a record makes! COOL it's takes me back to the good old days of listening to records...
Years ago, I began referring to Joe Walsh as "The Master of Slow Rock". Still think it fits. For those who may have missed them, I'd say his best work was his first three solo albums: Barnstorm; The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get; and So What. I still remember when I first heard the song "Falling Down" from So What on the radio, and I ran out and bought my first Joe Walsh album. Still one of my favorites songs.
joe vitale is probably my favorite drummer, hes got a very unique style that i love to borrow licks from...........not sayin hes the best........... just like his style
I was lucky enough to meet him in Hiroshima, Japan during the first Ringo Starr's first All-Starr band tours. We were the only American's (6 of us) in the crowd and it was such a trip to get to meet him. Such a nice guy! WASIWIG (What you see is what you get) with Joe. Thanks for posting. One of my favorite albumn's by him.
I saw Joe Walsh in 1974 in San Diego. It was my 1st concert at the ripe old age of 14. It was FANTASTIC!! All other concerts were compared to this one (tough act to follow). I think he was under-appreciated for his talent. His songs are amazing and will always stand up to anything produced now. No Contest. Lastly, he appears to be such an approachable, down to earth kinda guy. Thats says alot for someone in my book!
@bluegrassaaron turn to stone:) is the name of a song that walsh did from that era, that had a kick ass harmonica solo break in it. especially the live version. PEACE!
This song, and an Alpine I had in a '71 Olds Cutlass are part of the reason I have ringing in my ears now...hope when all hearing is gone I can still imagine Joe tearing up the lead in this...thanks for the post!
LOL! I had a 69 Cutlass, GOOD THING I CAN READ! (Does it sound good?) Seriously, I say this one is a lost treasure, thanks Youtube for having an avenue for expiriencing like this! Especially for young people who never heard it!
Found an old puzzle somebody had quit Tried a few pieces and hoped that they fit But they're going together so slowly It may take me forever to know If it's only a puzzle Parts of the puzzle will never be found And even though pieces are gone It's a county fair picture Part of me's there Some of the pieces are still at the fair And it may be forever The entire lyrics. Need he have said =any= more? Cleveland (truly) rocks.
Love the reverse reverb on the geetar break [shame this track is in mono tho'], and what a great 'homebrew' vid too! Used to play this loads on the radio, good ol' Joe
I love this psychadelic laid back goove tune. Walsh puts down a guitar like few did. Enjoy this kind of groovy pleasure because we aren't going to get this again.
I liked your comment. I have nostalgia, too...Don't lose hope, we can all get together, reawaken, renew the vibe, the spirit! Can we have nostalgia for the present? Maybe so, if we co-create the right-eous kind of reality!
Phenomenal song. Commonly overlooked is the ardent drumming by Joe Vitale. Having been a drummer since 1972 myself, this song (like many Vitale tracks) is one of the most dynamic and fun songs to play. To play it correctly takes finesse and skill of which most modern rock drummers don't have (few exceptions). Excellent post.

Yeah,i may have heard it before but can't remember it.On the other hand, Life's Been Good is a song which i like very much and is on my Long List for vids to make.
What a treat, thanks! I was about 11 when my grandfather gave me my first motorcycle, it was a Honda CB 360. Over time, I changed for a Yamaha Enduro DT 250. I guess in the way prices of gas are skyrocketing, will be smart to go back to the good old time, no to mention fun! Thanks!! ;)

Joe Walsh and The James Gang kicked ass in the early 70s`.
I mostly go for the British bands but The James gang and Mountain were the very best American bands of all time.
I grew up in the 80s` but love the 70s` hard rock best.
Metallica and Megadeth rock but could be blowen away by The Who.

The solo is incredible. Just very short bursts of notes. Very much like T. Bone Walker and Guitar Slim.
Joe filters a lot of old guitar players into his playing but it always sounds like him.

there's always been two joe walshs for me
light-hearted joe and melancholy joe
they re both important joes to me too
well now that i think of it
there're 3 joes -- just plain ol' rockin' joe' too (three?)
but as much as i dig the other two joes
melancholy joe will always be first among equals
songs like county fair just stay with you after the others have gone
like recalling a memory that's kinda sad but you re still okay w/ it and thankful to have it
thanx cool vid too
