I have long recognised the conservative ethic against drug legislation. If conservatives start to see the drug war as wasteful big government liberalism, that could lead to reform. The other side of the economic coin is that policing drugs supports the price of drugs (by limiting supply). In the case of cocaine, the police action makes perfect economic sense because it adds a tremendous amount of value to cocaine. Money that dealers spend in the economy.
Money that is being spent on drugs now would be spent elsewhere in a free market.
You are not creating wealth by artificially raising the price by reducing supply. If we made food very expensive by taxing or restricting it, more people will go without it, or less of it, and only a few would benefit. In this case, the few benefit at the loss of the other. In a free market, both parties benefit in a transaction - no one enters into it unless they both think they will benefit.

Great news. We just got Zack Back! I drafted and filed an appeal with the Texas Supreme Court (6th Circuit) and the Chief Justice agreed with me. The taking of Zack and dragging us through hearings and a trial were all illegal. Zack is back home and with us for good!

Cool stuff, Barry. I had the chance to meet Judge Napolitano last year in St. Louis along with Thomas E. Woods and the great Congressman Ron Paul among others. At the time, I didn't know who the Judge was & therefore did not approach him, but I did get to say hi to Congressman Paul & get him to sign my book he wrote. I get to hear the Judge speak on a regular basis now, and do so religiously, despite how I may disagree with some of his panelists(Nancy Skinner, etc.).Keep up the good work sir.

Willamson county is the place where a sister called the Sheriff's Dept to say that her drunk brother was acting strangely. 3 deputies showed up and found the guy buck naked with a knife. Their response? The 3 deputies shot him 9 times (killed him, of course). The sister later said that she wouldn't have called the Sheriff's office if she would have known they were going to execute him. (The deputies were acquited of all wrong doing)

I have long recognised the conservative ethic against drug legislation. If conservatives start to see the drug war as wasteful big government liberalism, that could lead to reform. The other side of the economic coin is that policing drugs supports the price of drugs (by limiting supply). In the case of cocaine, the police action makes perfect economic sense because it adds a tremendous amount of value to cocaine. Money that dealers spend in the economy.

Money that is being spent on drugs now would be spent elsewhere in a free market.
You are not creating wealth by artificially raising the price by reducing supply. If we made food very expensive by taxing or restricting it, more people will go without it, or less of it, and only a few would benefit. In this case, the few benefit at the loss of the other. In a free market, both parties benefit in a transaction - no one enters into it unless they both think they will benefit.

Are you kidding me? She plead guilty to keep from going back to prison. People plead guilty everyday to crimes they didn't commit to keep from doing time. Yolanda wasn't guilty, she was smart. If the government had such a good case on her, then why did they offer her "time served" if she plead guilty. The entire operation was a success. Yolanda Madden was released from Federal prison and doesn't have to return.

The Justice system practically strongarms people into pleas, that generates revenue for the town. Trials cost money & take up precious time, Pleas take minutes & make money for the town. Have a look at what Prisoners produce you will be surprised- slave labor to combat the cheap wages in Mexico etc-
