Nice job, I like the Gary Numan. Not many people know his work other than "Cars". And yeah, the closer movies/books like this come to being reality the more I crap my pants with fear.
Good vid great editing, ace movie, remember watching it years ago it was on all the time like 1984 but some how they are not these days, it seems they have went down the bbc's memory hole.
@justmusicandme Yes, the book is quite different from the film but both are great and both carry the same massage - governmental and State intervention is no good! I hear Frank Darabont ("Shawshank Redemption") is trying to get a remake off the ground but, honestly, I think Truffaut got it right the first time.
@sevenender Good choices! A friend of mine did a really good "Brazil," so I backed off on doing that one, though I may give another run at it. I am, however, doing "Soylant Green" next.
@sevenender Thank you. Yeah, I started doing several vids about fascism and the like. Check out my "Sorrow and the Pity" on SCREENINGROOM3. Just the subject that's interesting to me right now. Thanks agin for commenting!
Hey nice one man! I'm sure this was on the TV very late the other day, when I was channel-hopping? And was that little boy Mark Lester who famously played the lead role in Oliver!? Never heard that track before and the only Gary Numan songs I heard were I Die, You Die and the classic Cars. Thankyou!:) Darth
@Jackoman1 Yes, the child in the school is Mark Lester. Gary Numan is a genius; you should check out more of his music if you like it. Thank you, Darth, for your comment!!
I watched this before, on your channel, I think. Great movie, LOVE Oscar Werner and the great Ray Bradbury. Very fine video. Thank you so much. xxClaudia
For me it is one of the most important movies ever made. The idea of the living books is a message for the worlds. When we have to see things and not be able to do anything, at least, anyone of us needs to become a living book of what we saw.
One of the great movies of all time, by an incredible writer. I think every movie they made from Ray Bradbury was a mess except this one. So great to see again.

I didn't realize this was a Truffaut. I guess I've seen more "foreign" films than I thought! :-) great choice of music, as always.
All I can think of when I see the burning books is KINDLE! Product name co-incidence??

This video should be required viewing especially in Texas where they are re-writing
American History textbooks and leaving out the "inconvenient truths" they find dis-
tasteful. The music is fabulous and pounds out the anxious beat of this terrifying
look at the present. Excellent work...always taking on subjects dear to the mind
and heart. The creative, independent spirit is all that stand between us and
tyranny. Thank you for posting.
