I've just bought a Gent's Bulova Precisionist watch I've never been so disappointed in all my life, It's like having a clock on your wrist, you can't change the battery yourself, you need the proper case press for this one, The sweep is no more smoother than a mechanical watch and the hums gone in it's place is a tac, tac, sound much like you hear on a clock with a gummed up air spring, The people who think / say that the sweep hand is continuous need to go to spec savers, Accy's forever.
That's about their easiest to look at, but so manneristly overdone, and retro. Hublot, Breitling, with a touch of Citizen maybe? But just like Seiko et al, they waste all their best movements in their more expensive, and ugliest models. Love that movement though. But wow, they make an ugly watch!
@prisonson Hi. I note that one year ago you wanted a Bulova Precisionist, If you like Accutrons, then I don't think that you will like these, they are ugly, overweight, oversized and behave nothing like a original Accutron, I wear glasses and I can see the seconds finger jumping no better than a mechanical watch, the Accutrons are more smooth than the precisionist, Whoever said that the precisionst second sweep hand was a lot smoother needs his/her eyes looking at, I bet youve already bought 1.
@vagos290189 not really, there is the discontinued Seiko 5S21 from the 90s (80s/90s I think) and before that you had the Accutron Tuning Fork, Beta21 (Omega 1300/1301) and 720Mhz. The Seiko Spring Drive is a mechanical with a quartz heart and a sweeping second.

vagos290189 1 year ago
@vagos290189 - yes it sweeps like the 214/218 but its heart beats at a much higher frequency, 262000hz vs 360Hz ;-)
I added a link for the full preview in the description, ETA is planned for September.

@bestofwatch except from the precisionist is there another quartz movement that swaps hands so smooth ?

Must write an article about that one day ;-)
