  • Very nice. You are an extremely talented ocarina maker.

  • @Cyhrriad Thank You!!

  • @Schwessie

The High notes sound great nice and sharp

You should try making a 12 hole Ocarina of time replica

But the ocarina you made is very

    Cool

  • tutorial please!! I really want to make a double! It's really really cool, though. Much better than I can ever do.

  • @iBankai145

Right now I don`t really have the time to make another tutorial. I am also still figuring out what`s the best way to make a double. It`s even more difficult than making a 12-hole ocarina. So maybe in the future,,,

  • well the first thing, your amazing, secondly you have to make sure that the tone hole on the larger ocarina is a bit bigger it will make the lower notes a lot clearer.

  • @batallapj3 Thanks... I know, but when the soundhole gets bigger it`s more difficult to get the high sounds without getting airy. It`s a really fine balance, but I`ll try that... making it just a tiny bit bigger.

  • You're truly awesome. =-)

  • @theocarinadude

    Thank You!

  • is there instructions anywhere on how to make a double ocarina??

  • @MrMillTicket Not Really... I couldn`t find anything on the internet about making a double or triple. I just figured out how to make the two chambers and how to adjust the pitches. I have to say that it`s not easy and I can`t really explain it in a short message. The technique I`m using seems to work allright, but I`m still trying to make some improvements.

  • amazing to make your own instruments

    5*****

  • what type of clay do you use? because you always get an amazing look with that clay

  • @theocarinadude

I use really fine grogged clay by Creaton 25% 0-0,2 chamotte. In this case it`s the read firing clay, but they have it in different colors.

  • very impressive, do you have perfect pitch?

  • No not yet, because they are handmade and I don`t use molds. So I just use the basic pitch of the chamber and tune it in the scale that goes along with that. So they are in tune with themselves and not really suitable for playing with other instruments... or I`ll have to get lucky and make one that is really close to concert pitch and work with a tuning hole. Sometimes I do that... but this was the first one.

  • Fantastisch! Zo'n mooi geluid, geen 'airiness' (hoe zeg je dat in het Nederlands?) en ze zien er nog prachtig uit ook! =)

  • Bedankt! Het is erg leuk om ze te maken. Heb net even je filmpjes bekeken. Erg goed hoor. Hoe duur was die double van Maparam eigenlijk?

  • Man, this was pure amazingness !

    Hope you'll release a How-to, someday ;)

  • Thanks for watching. So you live in France.. nice. I went there as a trainee and worked on a campsite for half a year. That was a lot of fun.

  • Schwessie, I am extremely impressed. You are one talented person. I look forward to more.

  • Thank you! I don`t think it`s that much talent, but mostly practice and patience. If you like something and keep working on it... it`s bound to get better eventually. That`s also what I did with the flugelhorn. Do a littlebit everyday and soon you`ll hear the difference.

  • Petey : Wow !!! I like it , you gotta make a video on how to make 'em

  • Thanks! I don`t really have the time right now, but maybe somewhere in the future?

  • Good work getting them tuned together so well!

  • Nice! Yay! :-)

  • Thank you! It was fun to make... and a bit more challenging as the "normal" ocarinas. I am also thinking of trying the double in a different tuning system, but I`m still thinking about how I`m going to do that. It might be difficult, but I think it`s doable.

  • THAT IS BRILLIANT! Your ocarinas amaze me, but i just have to ask, what method do you use to get your ocarinas looking nice and smooth? And also, how do you create the shape, hand made, mold? I really dont think im using right techniques to making my ocarinas.

    Thanx

    C ya

  • ooh very nice!! =D

  • Thank you! I was just adding some replies when your comment popped up. So thanks to you too.

  • beautiful! great job!!

  • A beautiful clear sound all the way through the range.

  • Thanks for the comment Ubizmo... I appreciate you having a look.

  • That's a lovely Alto G double you've got there! It's very well-tuned. I can't wait to see more of your work. =3

  • Right now I`m working on an udu-drum, so I`ll have to finish that one before I start with another ocarina.

  • Nice Double G ^^

  • Lovely ocarina!

  • Very impressive! The sound is great, and it even looks professional!

  • Thank you! I`ve been making them for about a year and a half now. It`s a really nice hobby and the ocs are still getting better.

  • Wow Thats wonderful!!!! Would love to see how you made the separate chambers It looks so lovely and sounds enchanting!!! Lovely!!

    Dave

  • Thanks Dave... do you have any new video`s on my ocarina yet?

  • Not yet but I have been busy, however, I am thinking of a song to try to do very soon on it.

  • That would be fun... I`ll keep watching your channel every now and then. I am not really explaining how I did the two chambers on the double, because I am still fiddling around with it to find the best way....

  • That thing is beautiful, just like all your ocarinas!

Sounds great, you seem to have a real knack for ocarina making.

    ....Can I have it? :3

  • Haha ... nice try, but no. I need to keep it as an example for the future ones. Thanks for the comment though.
