  • She could not be more of a Melbourne chick. Laid back and very down to earth. And so true! We love our late night souvlakis and beers for brunch on weekends.

Go Melbourne! The best damn city in Australia. My home :-)

  • i miss brenda chenowith

  • she's so cool!

  • every time there's an aussie on, he talks about TRAMS!!! he should just marry a tram. funny ass.

  • AUSSIE PRIDE

  • careless whisper!

  • Pretty subtle accent.

  • her accent is so cute, it flits between american and australian very naturally!

  • @dawni3 I think her accent is heavily influenced by the American accent. The letter 't' when is not pronounced like that in Australian English.

  • love how her Aussie accent would creep in there at the end of a sentence haha she's too fun!

  • I don't hear much of an accent... o.O

  • She is so beautiful...and tall....

  • go aussie :D

  • I have a mix accent.. Scottish Irish British and American... plus I'm asian

  • ugh, why do people get so hung up over accents? Actors adopt them all the time.

  • @sovietsentinel u r adopted

  • so odd... half american half australian accent. It's mental.

  • Whaaaaaaaaat? Brenda had an accent?! Wow... Very good job of hiding it. I mean, wow. Had no idea.

  • It is SO weird to hear her speaking with an accent!

  • It's a shame that Craig wasted so much time with her talking about trite rubbish. She is such an incredibly talented, versatile and interesting woman but he missed an opportunity here.

  • she appears at 1:15...but i have to say, the accent was a surprise

  • I CAN'T UNDERSTAND A WORD THEY'RE SAYING OMG

  • @FutureSauce that's because you're uneducated

  • Her full on aussie accent is gonnnnneeee.

When i lived there for 2 years, my accent never changed.

  • She has no trace of that Australian accent as Brenda on Six Feet Under, and that was 10 years ago, when her accent would have been thicker. Extremely impressive!

  • Rachel is the most natural actress I've ever seen in the moving , The Rookie. Very beautiful woman and so natural. Wow

  • So proud that she's from Melbourne

  • wow had no idea she had an accent.

  • Her work in film and television has earned her many awards, most notably a Golden Globe award, two Screen Actors Guild awards and three Australian Film Institute awards.

  • When a person lives in another country for a while, their accent diminishes. Just like if an American lives in England for a while, they will experience vowel shifting. But most Americans never bother to learn another language and just can't comprehend somebody's accent shifting. Then when Americans return to America, stupid people accuse them of trying to talk with a British accent.

  • what happened to her accent? its slowly going way no? it used to be soo much thicker

  • Funny thing is Craig Ferguson worked on aussie tv in the late 80's when she was starting out in Australia.

  • I loved her in Muriel's wedding!! She's a fantastic actress!! Not sure whether she's Australian or English?? Love Brothers & Sisters! Is he IRISH??

  • @VeeBee81 She's Australian!! :D And ehm...he's Scotish! :P

  • @AnnaRoberts9... No Matthew Rhys is Welsh! I was wondering whether the Presenter on the Late Show was Irish? But you're right... he IS Scottish. :-D

  • @VeeBee81 Yeah I know he's Welsh! I come from Wales! haha I meant that the presenter is Scotish! =)

  • I loved her in Muriel's wedding!! She's a fantastic actress!! Not sure whether she's Australian or English?? Love Brothers & Sisters!

  • She's pretty. I'd like to see her naked.

  • @cosmicdingo you do get to see her have all kinds of dirty sex scenes in six feet under. she's super hot in that show.

  • also, LOVE her in Six Feet Under. Brenda's an incredible character and Rachel a great portrayer- I can't imagine anyone else playing the part.

  • she's definitely losing her Australian accent, it almost sounds American at some points

  • @pojo1017 i was just thinkin that if you compare her accent to muriels wedding its practically non exsistent

  • @pojo1017 i just saw her on stage and she doesn't sound remotely australian!

  • she's an amazing actress.... i was blown away by her in Six Feet Under - had NO IDEA she was australian till seeing her in interviews

  • just saw her in Blow.

  • Wow you've met all 350 million americans, because that's the only way you could make that statement without sounding like a complete asshole.

  • @Kevindl1985

Population of USA is around 309 mln.

  • Her Australian accent vanished rapidly! I've been in Oz for over a decade and it's seemingly yet to creep into my accent. But then, needless to say, my profession doesn't involve constantly perfecting the accent for a portrayal viewed across a nation.

  • This isn't against the us or anything, but rachels shirt is really ugly!

  • @haleyjustinkerri hahaha! seems like she's wearing it knowing its ugly and doesnt really care.

  • Haha! Yeah I know! Funny how people do that!

  • I'm from india where Muriel's Wedding isn't available actually most of the movies she's been in never reached india so i din't even know that she was a veteran actor

  • Ummmm..she's gorgeous.

  • Has no one here seen Muriel's Wedding? Judging from all the 'OMG accent' and 'I didn't know she's Australian' comments, I guess not.

Rent it. See her and Toni Collette in their breakout roles.

  • I love that movie! Haha she's great as rhonda

  • Just when I thought she couldn't get any hotter, she drops that accent.......

  • Wow her accent is...really something

  • omg. what happened?

  • she's hot!

  • Shes switching from Americain to Australian accent its funny!! Lol XxMx

  • I thought it was just me. I wonder if it's just from being in America and having American roles where she constantly has to switch to an American accent.

  • They have Australia pin-pointed!! Don't come back to Australia, Rach! America suits you better!!...no opportunities in Australia.

  • her depiction of brenda was absolutley amazing! AMAZING!!!!

  • Woah, I had no idea Rachel had an accent.

She does a great job of hiding it when acting!

  • @Shaftell i heard her talking and my jaw dropped and matthew rhys has a welsh accent lol

  • @Shaftell Had an Australian accent

not HAD AN ACCENT, you ignorant American (I bet you're American) you guys have accents too whether you fucking believe it or not idiot

  • @blahmehblah1 I'm American and I know we have accents too. Not all Americans are inept. I always place myself in others shoes before I speak, so I won't blur out stupid things. Don't stereotype us, please. We're not all cretinous like most of them.

  • @Logichead, you've got to remember that she is now a working MUM. So an ongoing role in a long-running series is ideal for her. It means she can have consistent work/income without having to move her family to where her next job is located. This means no disruptions for the kids. Maybe when they are older, she'll go back to the more interesting and challenging roles.

  • The citizen queue thing is a little bit fucked.

  • she's so cool <3

  • nono, I think he is serious o_0

  • What happened to her accent?? Why did she adopt an American accent!!

  • she didn't really adopt the American accent. But for roles in American families she needs to sound like a part of the family.

  • why is she wearing that disguisting top

  • Yeah I know it is a bit weird.
