"Courage is the best defense you have now" AKA you have no chance in hell to actually make it through all this, just hope the the 6,000 somewhat Rohirrim get here before the enemy has a chance to kill you.
The Witch-King is my favorite charactor besides Sauron. And I feel, even though no man could kill the Witch-King the battle with Eowyn should of been done more realistically. For example the spiked mace he hit her with probably weighed at least 200lbs and would of not only shattered her shield, and her arm, half of her body would of been shattered as well resulting in major internal bleeding. The fight with Gandalf wasnt long enough either. But over its still my all time favorite epic.

@a6eBezerkur Sorry, but I have known many LOTR followers who swore up and down by the books (which I have no problem with, since I loved the books too), but as soon as they saw the movies they picked them apart (I knew they were going to be highly critical anyway - to each his own) like no other and it is a bit ridiculous because yes things should be as realistic as possible, BUT it IS only a movie and certain things will not be perfect either.
@chancieacres If it is my favorite epic of all time why would I pick it apart? I wouldn't of changed a thing(except for what I mentioned) and I do not believe it could of been done any better than how it is. It will stand the test of time as a epic. Ive read the books many years ago and seeing the movies fullfilled a childhood dream. Remember the Hobbit cartoon?, good for its time but now I await the Hobbit in movie form done by the same people and I cant wait.
@a6eBezerkur I get what you're saying about realistic, but would it have been realistic for Eowyn to have killed the Witch King if she had suffered that much injury? I think that they did a good job in general with a difficult scene, because in reality for Eowyn to kill him that would have been a really difficult scene to do.

You have obviously never read the books it states in the book that by the time the rohirrim came the gondorians had lost nearly all their men but also managed to take out half of the enemy force. Though by the time the 6000 rohirrim arrived there were only 1000 gondorians left and 6000 rohirrim against 100000 of the remaining enemy forces
@GoFlamesGo100 no, 100000 orcs was the total of the orcs forces. there is nothing in the book stating that the gondorian forces killed half of the mordor's army. and i read the book several times.

It is said, in the books, several times, that the only threat to Gandalf the White in all Middle-Earth was the Dark Lord himself, not the Witch-King. In fact, Gandalf face the Witch-King and four other Nazgul in Weathertop and he defeated them all.

1 - Melkor is not the most powerful being in the world. Eru Iluvatar is.
2 - Turin didn't kill Melkor. Do you even know what the War of Wrath is?
3 - Balrogs were easier to kill by that time, much easier than on the Third Age. I don't know why, but that's something clear.
4 - I know Gandalf's true name. I also know Saruman is Curunir. I read the books, all of them save the Adventures of Tom Bombadil, so stop pretending you know a lot about it when you're just stating basic things

And even when the riders of Rohan came, the forces of Gondor and Rohan together are still no more than one third of the army from Mordor. @Intranetusa Nothing wrong with Gondor's plate armor and such, infact they look great. But their soldiers are very unmotivated, sissy's who would rather flee a battle then fight. Cant really blame them tho, Gondor dont have any strong / Wise Leaders.
@ionuttheb so Fail Gondor should atleast have an army of 30-40 000 men if they have a City like Minas tirith a City of "kings" lol. 8 000 soldiers... Humans are pathetic in Lord of the rings. Except for Haradrim and Easterlings i bet they have a great military power and defence. Hope you get to see more of them in The Hobbit :P
@lateralsx7 the valar feared that the istari would become new dark lords once sauron was defeated so most of their powers were removed when they left for middle eart to guide the elves and men in their struggle against sauron.

You have obviously never read the books it states in the book that by the time the rohirrim came the gondorians had lost nearly all their men but also managed to take out half of the enemy force. Though by the time the 6000 rohirrim arrived there were only 1000 gondorians left and 6000 rohirrim against 100000 of the remaining enemy forces

@GoFlamesGo100 no, 100000 orcs was the total of the orcs forces. there is nothing in the book stating that the gondorian forces killed half of the mordor's army. and i read the book several times.

witch king is awsome shame that they didnt shown his true strength and powers in films though in the books his much more powerfull and if people whould have readed them wouldnt say that gandalf would overpower him easly

@Wenix100 LOL, are you mad? You must have read a different version of lotr than I did. Gandalf was a Maiar. The Witch-King was a Men. It is said, in the books, several times, that the only threat to Gandalf the White in all Middle-Earth was the Dark Lord himself, not the Witch-King. In fact, Gandalf face the Witch-King and four other Nazgul in Weathertop and he defeated them all.

@joaolannister so what if witch king is man if you didnt know men are strong take turin for example(if you even know who he is he killed glaurung,melkor himself that is the most powerfull being in the world,...tuor killed 5 balrogs in gondolin and balrogs are too maiar and gandalfs real name is olorin and it would be tough fight witch king is very powerfull

@Wenix100 you're just being blindly stubborn. i would agree with everything you said, if it wasn't tolkien himself who stated what i said. the only threat to gandalf by the third age, in middle earth, was Sauron himself. Gandalf defeated a Balrog and broke Saruman's power. And also, I repeat to you, Gandalf defeated five nazgul at once, when he was still Gandalf the Grey, on the night in Weathertop. So, how do you thing the Witch-king alone (who was present, in fact) could defeat Gandalf alone?

1 - Melkor is not the most powerful being in the world. Eru Iluvatar is.
2 - Turin didn't kill Melkor. Do you even know what the War of Wrath is?
3 - Balrogs were easier to kill by that time, much easier than on the Third Age. I don't know why, but that's something clear.
4 - I know Gandalf's true name. I also know Saruman is Curunir. I read the books, all of them save the Adventures of Tom Bombadil, so stop pretending you know a lot about it when you're just stating basic things

@joaolannister witch king would put up good fight and there wasnt anything told that witch king was on weathertop that night and turin did killed melkor in last fight when melkor broked gates of night he finished him you dont even know what last battle is dont you so stop telling me you know something better then me cause you dont and gandalf is weaken in middle earth and cant use his powers it would be tough fight and yes gandalf would win but not easily and eru is not on arda!

@Wenix100 no. how do you explain that so many men and elves could kill balrogs on the first age, and on the third, Gandalf, a Maiar, was almost eliminated by Durin's Bane? Tolkien made the barlog more powerful when Gandalf met him, maybe because e hadn't in mind to publish the Silmarillion, i don't know. and the intervention of the Valar has nothing to do with what i'm talking about. much before they had in mind to fight, there were men and elves killing balrogs with no help from any valar.

@joaolannister actually, nobody has ever single handedly beaten a balrog and lived, gandalf died, but was reincarnated, glorfindel the elf died while fighting a balrog, echthelion of the fountain killed one, but was also killed by the same one. in truth it took an entire army to kill a balrog, so they werent more powerful in the third age han the first age.

The gondorians were outnumbered 20 to 1 and killed half of the mordor army by the time rohan got there thats a 10-1 kill death ratio

@GoFlamesGo100 The gondorians didn't kill half of Mordor's Army O.O they were being defeated, all defenses failed. And even when the riders of Rohan came, the forces of Gondor and Rohan together are still no more than one third of the army from Mordor. That's something very explicit both in the book and in the movie.

@Intranetusa Nothing wrong with Gondor's plate armor and such, infact they look great. But their soldiers are very unmotivated, sissy's who would rather flee a battle then fight. Cant really blame them tho, Gondor dont have any strong / Wise Leaders.

@ionuttheb so Fail Gondor should atleast have an army of 30-40 000 men if they have a City like Minas tirith a City of "kings" lol. 8 000 soldiers... Humans are pathetic in Lord of the rings. Except for Haradrim and Easterlings i bet they have a great military power and defence. Hope you get to see more of them in The Hobbit :P

Gandalf is supposed to have a similar power with Sauron.
He just can't use all his power cause he's just there to help,not to dominate.
If you read the Silmarillion it is said that Gandalf is a Maia,some kind of demi-god like Sauron but a good one

@lateralsx7 the valar feared that the istari would become new dark lords once sauron was defeated so most of their powers were removed when they left for middle eart to guide the elves and men in their struggle against sauron.
