This should bother every American. No matter what you personally feel about this guy, this is a bad day for all Americans. This opens the door for the government to do the same thing to lesser convictions. What happens if the US busts an American drug dealer? Since we're in a "War on drugs" does that mean if your sons or daughters get caught selling a dimebag, they'll be held in "Military court" without the confines of the constitution? That is bullshit. @lemmyliquor No actually COPS aren't supposed to punish anyone. Cops are supposed to protect and serve, if serving requires placing someone under arrest for being a true threat to society, then to be put on trial based on the constitution and bill of rights to ensure they receive a fair trial.
@skinnywhop87 not really at least that is the case today in several recent court cases the police are under no obligation to "protect" and they sure as hell dont "serve" us any more. all they are required to do is enforce the law that is why you no longer see the logo "to protect and serve" anymore
