  • and phrasing?

  • Awesome grip! I'm just starting to learn four mallets. I know how hard it is. XD

  • dude thats too fast. its fricken 80 bpm. Still, you kept it clean for that tempo. It feels very mechanical though. Use more dynamics and take liberties with tempo in transitional sections.

  • I started off with with the quarter note at 97 beets per second and got to maybe 99 with the straight eight notes. I didn't intentionally do either tempo i just thought it sounded good at that speed.

  • whats your tempo when you played it?

  • tien foo... you could be right, but sometimes i feel more comfortable with it lower... and my teacher always tells me i need to relax more.... thanks for the constructive criticism

  • if you are going to the broken roll sound you might want to lower your wrists by like a foot they are so hi up you are getting a terrible tone and extremely poor technique, maybe you should just play the flute or something with weak wrists like that

  • @YankeeStudd2806 The problem isn't the height of his wrists... it's the height of the marimba...

Raise the instrument, and it'll be better. Focus on more wrist rotation, everything seems very stiff.
