  • after changes we are almost the same......

  • สุดยอด

  • I love the version with the extra lyrics.

  • I miss music...

  • an amazing song done by an amazing duet, simon and garfunkel rock

  • A legendary duo. One can barely aspire to reach a tenth of that level. This show is LEGEND. If you have time, check the cover of The Boxer on my channel.

  • Song is amazing. It gives me chills... every single lyric is brilliant. Easily one of the best live performances I've ever seen. The whole concert in central park is great, but this particular song is just off the charts. 3000x better than the original. I wish that I could have grown up in this era. You can tell the music and the people enjoying it actually mean something to Art and Paul. These days, people will be quick to sell out for a quick buck. Fuck that.

  • americana captured in 6 minutes perfectly,,

  • I sometimes wonder if, on occasion, the likes of Brittany Spears, Justin Bieber, et al, watch artists like S&G, Jim Croce, John Denver, Joni Mitchell, etc. and understand just how "out of their league" they really are.

  • Ohhhh....i like old songs....

  • You are watching the end of an era, of the Great performers. It is sad,

  • I was there at the time of this grate concert as a dutch boy from 15. Never forget one of the greatest concerts all time.

  • this cheering is longer than it would be at a modern pop music concert by an unnamed celebrity

  • My favorite song by S&G! Thanks for posting this.

  • PREFIERO LA VERSION ORIGINAL....

  • The music of Simon & Garfunkel is a milestone in the history of music.

  • I love this version of this song. I prefer this to the original not only because of the brilliant added verse, but because of the screw up at the beginning. It makes you realize that they are actually humans who make mistakes rather then gods...plus it's kinda cute.

  • I love this video

I own the CD of this concert (and attended it live so many years ago). I really like the moment when one of them (who cares who and why!!) screws up the lyrics/timing early on in the song. On the CD you can HEAR them smiling at each other - amused by screwing up one of their standards. Now I get to see them grinning at each other.

  • love the extra lines. saw them a few years ago in CA...magnificent. they did some very memorable stuff...this one being my favorite. But they're ALL great.

  • I remember this n watching~ brilliant song~

  • I love this song with the extra lyrics.

  • God just blesses some people. Just sayin'

  • It's so hard to hear Art's voice in this but when you finally tune in to it, it's absolutely stunning!

  • Beautiful harmony here..you don't hear this in today's music at all.

  • Thanks alot for posting this.

  • I remember this song when I was in kindergarten. Every time it rained or stormed when I was on the bus, this song would play on the radio station. Talk about amazing memories. Thanks for posting this!

  • i love arts hair

  • Top stuff! lol

What i grew up with, went shopping for groceries to jacksons and woolworths was well alive! Its too sad to see it all so lol! Only the baby sitter could play this lol xx

  • used to love it lol! x

  • just one hell of a tune, you young kids just listen, then keep listening, they are the guys then and now, ask your parents

  • I think deep down they still love each other alot. You can see it come out from time to time. The anger they have just seems easier to display, as with all of us. The music they created is their glue and will always be their bond. The stronger the glue/music, the harder it is for them to completely walk away from each other.

  • Great harmony! S/G are(were) a class act and always will be.

  • Nigga, dis be dat icky sticky.

  • whos doing the high background voice, the guy with the guitar?

  • the other one

  • The "guy with the guitar" is Paul Simon dude! AKA One of the best musicians ever!!! No Art is the high voice.

  • Perfection!

  • Believe. Believe. Music/Sound Heals as a Bridge.

    Seek Spirit/Seek Joy. Sing/Play - Psalms 33

  • After changes upon changes we are more or less the same.

  • Genios!

  • Beautiful song, great co-mingling voices of two amazing artists. Thanks for sharing this video--it brings back memories.

  • Such a chill song...awesome video.

  • 60's Classic! thnks for uppload!

  • Re: the glitch-- Art sang the verse according to the original version, Paul's timing was off; or, they rehearsed a new arrangement and Art stepped in too soon... At any rate, who cares? These moments personalize the music and the performers. Everyone is so critical, like dutiful consumers, and ready to complain if something isn't perfect. Music is neither a competition nor a product-- it's a living and spontaneous process. If you want to keep score, watch sports.

  • um, music is not a product... ok. then most music produced since... 89 is not music. LOL hi

  • @willmercury awesome I love spontaneity

  • Bridge over troubled water;) ok?

    /Larsfive

  • when was this?

  • 1981.

  • Friend, Since when do you know them?

  • me? first heard about them when i was like 10y/o.. why??

  • No, Paul screwed up. Art sang it the way it was originally.

    It's Paul's fault, people!

  • Sorry butyour wrong. Art screwed up. Paul is always rearranging his material. Art sang the original timing but Paul had changed it - Art forgot, that's all. Proves they're human.

  • Other than the sync being off a little bit, this great. Love these two singing together, this song especially.

  • One of my all-time favorite songs of any artist or musical group ever. Garfunkel's body language at the beginning says a lot though...

  • This is really one of the best songs made ever.....Simon and Garfunkel are among the best in the world!!!

  • I really like the added verse here. It's A little note to their fans to make up for their estrangement for many years. Glad they got over it.

  • The second best song by them:)

  • what's the 1st? =^_^=

  • how so? that he couldn't write and just sang? =^_^=

  • no one

  • Listening to them, all my problems vanish.

Who these days can produce such heavenly sounds?

  • chris martin of coldplay is the only one i can think of, but not nearly as heavenly as this

    cheers

  • i cant believe someone even tried to trash this preformance

anyone that talks shit at all about simon and garfunkel can get asshole cancer and die

  • How come nobody mentioned how Art comes in early right in the beginning of the song at the "I have squandered" part. Paul was supposed to put in an instrumental line between the two first lyric lines but Art jumps the gun. Paul has to fix the instrumental line and then they correctly come in together. Paul looks over at Art surprised when Art sings "I have squandered" during what was supposed to be the instrumental line.

  • In the track I have, on the Bridge Over Troubled Water CD, the timing's the same as Art's here. To me it sounded like Paul was too late. But maybe they were doing it differently here.

  • Paul's arrangements for concerts are not always as they were when first recorded.

Paul is a perfectionist and I am sure that it is Art. But as they say Who Cares

  • nobody mentioned it because it doesn't matter. Those errors are nothing compared with the overall effect of the harmonies of simon and garfunkel

  • ha its true art jumps the gun and paul makes a face that says "you dumbass" but then they both laugh it off. these things do happen, even to a polished rehearsed act

  • grandi

  • this is a really good song by them. I think my favroite is the sound of silence. They r music heros! :-)

  • Paul's face at 2:55..

and Art's face after the crowd reacts to New York City winters, haha. Awesome.

  • the video and audio is off?...still good song though

  • What a beautiful song and a great performance. 5*

    gerdenshed

  • I turned down the volume and watched Art, haven't laughed that hard in years.

  • My favorite S n G song. Bridge over troubled water is a close second but there's something about this song that gets me every time. I think it's the story that the lyrics tell.

    anyways i love these two!

  • America!

  • sound of silence... deffinately

  • I've never seen Paul so relaxed and happy. This must have been a beautiful night for them.

  • la li la li la li

  • Perfect duo

  • Fantastic, you just don't get music like this anymore

Also, is it wrong to say that Paul Simon is extremely cute here?!

  • depends if ur a girl or not:P

  • @blondie1238 He is extremely cute. They both are/were. We were all cute in those days. It's great to have these videos to remind us.

  • They are so symphatic. I'd love to see them live!

  • great

  • check after verse changes upon changes -paul looks @a art and smiles-just sayin

  • and at the beginning when art screws up :D

  • they sing great live better then a lot of other people

  • just great

  • how does this video only have 29K views, such a good song

  • this may be the best song ever. sorry the messed up in the begining

  • Simon is so happy :D

  • it sorda seemz lyke lip-singing,.....

  • The visual and audio aren't synced very well...what do you expect from the 60's or 70's and then formatted and clipped and submitted...gonna be a bit of it going on...

  • it's so cool that it amazed mayo a lot

  • Yeah, the cold comment is a bit odd, but Art Garfunkel is certainly no fuck. He's very intelligent.

  • imagination is better

  • i agree

  • no limits to the imagination ! it is better this way

  • People try to find out what the song is really about, "Paul Simon wrote this song about himself" etc, but I think it's best that the meaning of song always be left up (although this isn't always possible) to the imagination of the listener.

  • Simon and Garfunkel songs are like Paintings! Their Magical Music is soooo REAL,it BLOWS all this new Crap you hear now-days completely away!!!!

  • @benyoda3 i love this version of one of the best songs ever written.....the extra verse: "Now the years are rolling by me, they are rockin even me

I am older than I once was, and younger than Ill be, thats not unusual

No it isnt strange, after changes upon changes, we are more or less the same

After changes we are more or less the same"......that verse makes the whole song for me, anyway.....it rings so very true.....but i have never heard it played except at the Park....dont know why

  • @cgambler864 I listened to it in Paul Simon in Concert: Live Rhymin. I think he added the extra verse in that concert

  • Paul Simon's got talent coming out of his dick. We need more composers like him to get today's shit off the radio

  • Compare the music of these guys with that of some of their contemporaries, like the shitty Beetles (who made hundreds of songs of which only a handful are bearable), and you will easily see how rich these songs and lyrics are. Thanks for uploading this.

  • to say that the Beetles are shitty is not only ignorant, it's quite moronic! By the way you're compare apples with oranges! Having the best orange in the bunch does not preclude having an equivalently awesome apple! And yeah, S&G are superb! and so are the Beetles!

  • by the way its spelled BEATLES

  • beatles.....

  • @terentesangre that's ashame, i'm allergic for apples.. although i like S&G very much (totally agree with you:))

  • @terentesangre

    Lolol

    Thanks for making my day.

Nothing like hearing someone so biased and slaughter an analogy at the same time. :D

  • @terentesangre if youre going to defend a band its called proper spelling * the BeAtles :)

  • @blacksabbathvids know sheet?

  • Good God! From wherest and of what loins are these men descended? I am humbled.

  • My brother and his friend sang this in a "talent show" type thing at our school but his friend went higher but it was awsome I ♥ this song!

  • Fully sick bro, I love it, ay.

  • Timeless

  • ....timeless... wow!! i am young, from 1984

;-) this sounds really great!! I take this song personally!! Rgds

  • So many great lines,,,Love the missing verse " Now The Years Are Rolling By Me " Amazing

  • Paul Simon could write a fucking song man.

  • Quite simple an all-time performance. This is purely amazing.

  • my god.... i have the guitar he's playing. and i feel so good about that now. why did i never notice that?

  • you really have it? How can we know you don't joking? Best regards...mb

  • Now The Years are rolling by me,,great

  • I bought the double LP (!) when it first came out and I loved every song. How extraodinary and lovely to hear it again with the visuals - thank you very much.

    mx

  • paul simon was talking about himself at this song .. they critisized him heavily so he was like a boxer against a vicious opponent .. the best part is Now the years are rolling by me They are rocking evenly And I am older than I once was And younger than I'll be, but that's not unusual. No, it isn't strange After changes upon changes We are more or less the same After changes we are more or less the same i liked it very much strong and powerful words
  • the missing verse is my favorite

  • love it, beautiful..

  • best song ever

  • agree with you, one of the best!

  • Excellent observation my good sir

  • the sound runs a bit faster than the image does.

  • LOS PUTOS AMOS
