hey thanks for your help. The flight went great. The only problem was I couldn't get the plane started. It hadn't flown for almost 2 weeks. Eventually, I cranked it without the fuel pump running. I love the sierra so much. I got my lisence in a 172. This plane is so responsive, even at slow speeds. Its a breeze to land too. I was also really suprised at how well it handles strong winds. It was 40 degrees off the runway at 17 knots. Handled it great
The rule of thumb I use is when it is most critical to have reliable engine power...takeoff, landing, and manuevers. So yes, I use it for takeoff and landing. Especially if it is a rental plane...use as many redundant systems as you can. Safe flight!
Is it just me, or were you coming on approach not under power?

I had power. The Rotax engines are very quiet. Also the frame rates from he camera make it look like the prop is a lot slower than it really is.

ahhh I Know this now, Went up for my Trial flight a few weeks ago. Best thing ever, and Ive done about 25 skydives to date...
