  • Great illustration of extension, that gets ignored a lot I think. Chinups for chest!

  • @tyciol chinups are not for chest you noob.

  • @LolToalNoobs lol dude, obviously it's not the main thing targetted, but the lower fibers of the chest help to extend the shoulder joint when arm is overhead, it's true bro.

  • @tyciol the pec is the antaganist, not the aganist. therefore it is not worked.

  • @LolToalNoobs Actually no, the pec major is not an antagonist in vertical pulling motions. It's not the prime mover, but it is a synergist that helps the lat with shoulder extension, moreso during the start of the movement, less during the top.

Antagonists to vertical pulling are muscles like the anterior deltoid, serratus anterior and upper traps, basically all the muscles we use in overhead pressing.

  • @tyciol Thanks for the reply! Good info :)

  • This is a great video demonstrating the actions of the Pectoralis Major’s sternal and clavicular heads. This will be great for selecting exercises and performing their movements for developing the two heads.
