And while I agree that students should be given the skills and encouraged to question and think for themselves, I also think that the kind of extreme relativism that many people embrace is bullshit, and that there is nothing wrong with an instructor expounding his/her opinion on any subject. In fact, the more passionately, the better.

I love the production of this vid but have mixed feelings about the message. I hated primary and secondary school, but have to admit that I probably would have turned out to be a total loser without that schooling. Undoubtably the system is flawed, and steps should be taken to improve it, but to have no system would in all likelihood permit widespread ignorance in areas of fundamental knowledge like scientific method, maths and grammar.
