I used to work on mailing lists as part of my job. M ones are hard to learn because there are so many that start with MA or MI. In most cases they use the first two letters like ID, IO, IN, IL, FL, OH, OR, WA, CA.. and it's easy to figure out what is what. But when there are more that one it can be confusing. NE, NV, NH, NM. Nebraska is the first one alphabetically, so it is got NE. NB would be easier to remember.
