  • @my90tp .. when I took this vid there were people....all you would have seen were people lol. Good idea though, just need an empty or near empty vehicle ..

  • what main attractions?

  • @Frickis .. on Fraser Island? ..

  • awwww

  • @satdiverse .. not a bad ride is it! ..

  • what attractions I obnly know the opera house and harbour bridge

  • @Frickis .. yes there is a lot to see in Sydney ..

  • @GeoffJennyOliver what exept from the bridge and opera house and bondi beach?

  • @Frickis .. depends what your looking for - great night life, cafe's and restaurants, boutique pubs, boat rides etc etc ..

  • @GeoffJennyOliver I dont like night life and hate cafees and pubs!

  • @Frickis .. sound like you need to go to Brisbane! lol

  • @Frickis .. no night life, bad cafe's and no boutique pubs lol (they do have quite a few excellent beaches though - way better than Bondi. Fraser Island is practically one huge amazing tropical beach - but you've gotta like the tropical weather lol ..

  • That's really great! I wish to get on it.

I love Sydney - AUSTRALIA. Really great place. But I don't like one thing, it's hot in Australia. But I love cold place.

    Greetings from AZERBAIJAN!

  • @SAMIRKA85 .. greetings from Australia! I'm sure you would get accustomed to the weather! Hobart is quite cool ..

  • @GeoffJennyOliver I have just seen the sights of Hobart in Google. Really great city! Then when I come Australia, I will start my Australia tour from Hobart).

  • there is no god except allah may allah send me to sydney

  • Sydney, proud of it.

  • @makjac46 .. beautiful city - and I'm from Melbourne! :)

  • I like Sydney a lot as a city on the whole but I've got to say, that monorail is a piece of junk.

  • @truekiwijoker Actually I think it's great for tourists to have a look around the city. It can also help families, elderly get around. The city is a big place you know. :)

  • @MzC8IE The Monorail circuit is very small and it doesn't really go anywhere anyone would want to go except Darling harbour and possibly Chinatown. It's not suitable as a form of public transport and it doesn't really give tourists anything. Plus it's in bad need of an investment in maintenance.

  • @truekiwijoker how on earth can you say it isn't suitable as a form of public transport? Weren't you watching that video? A monorail is up out of the way of traffic, people and lets the city function away happily underneath it. It is ideal in cramped locations and ideal for light goods and people. It is quiet and deals well with grades. I am flabbergasted how people don't "get" monorails!

  • @Ozplanman Get as flabbergasted as you want, because it will only show up what you don't "get" as I explain how this Monorail simply isn't a suitable form of public transport.

Because: it has low passenger capacity with a tightly-fit maximum of less than 50 people. It isn't routed along any major corridor of desired transit, it only takes you (in only one direction) to some shopping centres and to the Darling harbour and Chinatown areas which anyone could walk between anyway. CONT...

  • @Ozplanman CONT... It is extremely expensive. It is only integrated with the light rail/tramway and not even bus routes.

As a "planman" you're clearly clueless about public transport and urban planning in general if you think Monorails have any place in proper public transport systems. They only work as gimmicky low-capacity people movers for airports and tourist attractions with the exception of Wuppertal's Schwebebahn (which solved the capacity deficiency by suspending the units).

  • @truekiwijoker thank you for your in depth assessment of my professional abilities. By citing the Schwebebahn which, amongst others around the world moves tens of thousands of people per day, you prove they do have a place. QED.

  • @Ozplanman The Schwewebahn is the ONLY monorail in the entire world that works as public transport. And while it's certainly successful; like all monorails it was extremely expensive and has the con of introducing a high amount of visual pollution. It wasn't built because the Germans loved monorails it was because the city revolved around barge/river traffic and there was in this case easier than introducing a conventional suburban rail.

  • 1:27 why would they build directly over a tree. . .

  • @hamboney9 They didn't...

  • @MzC8IE yeah they did you can see the top part of the tree's where they cut a path for da monorail...and they probably do routine maintenance (trimming).

  • @hamboney9 They built 'over the tree' but they did not build over in such a way that they need to cut it down :)

  • @MzC8IE true, but they have to continue to chop the top of tha tree off,so it doesnt mangle the tracks ...

  • @hamboney9 true :)

  • what is the music

  • @CoatsyJnr I made up on Garage Band - from many diff loops

  • Awesome video!! Beautiful!!

  • great video and very good job:) you remind me of my holiday in sydney few years back. Greetings from greece

  • How could you not love this city?

  • @5244vlad .....yes its beautiful...

  • Thank you for making this, It is a neat way to get around Sydney...my son has worked on the monorail there for over ten years now(I'm a bit proud of that)..an I dont live there so I dont get to see it like this....great

  • @arianrod1946 Glad you like it! Thanks for dropping by. Geoff

  • Excellent video Geoff. Thanks Gian ;-) I like the monorail, but still prefer the traditional railroads.

  • Your music has a real urban feel to it so the footage you take really seems to compliment your music effortlessly.

  • Thanks for beautiful trip!

  • Now THIS is a neat vid. 5/5 stars!

  • @stormspinner1 Thanks Karla

  • spectaluar video....

  • @coronaz100 Thanks Jose.

  • enyoyed that , love it

  • Brilliant! That monorail certainly offers an excellent opportunity to view Sydney from several stories up. Did you have to ask a few other passengers to kindly move a couple of seats over to set up your camcorder? At 1:48, was that the Western Distributor freeway? Finally, what song is this? It had me boppin' my head from beginning to end; would love to play this on the way to San Francisco, next week. Again, excellent work!

  • @FreewayBrent When we got in the rail car there just happened to be a vacancy right where I needed it to be! The vid is sped up 200%. The music just 'happened' - I use Garage Band, it allows you to work with a combination of loops. Takes a bit to understand the program but once you get your head around it, it works well. I had a lot of experience with bands and stuff years ago, so that helps too.

  • @FreewayBrent ...and yes I believe that is the Western Distributor. I will put up a vid of the Eastern Distributor / South Road soon. I didn't have enough time to get out on the western section.

  • Great tour!!...Nice city..

  • Very cool. Excellent music. I enjoyed this journey with monorail.

  • Hey Geoff,

You should put a drop shadow on your text and/or an outline to make it easier to see it. Cool video, how much does it cost to ride?

  • @KBDProductionsTV Thanks Ken. Will do.

  • Hello Geoff, great to make a roundtrip through Sydney. In 2 days my lady neihghbour is coming back from the visit of her son in this city so she will have seen this for sure.

    ♥♥Je@nnette♥♥

  • Great video! It just confirms that I have to get there one day.

  • @canadianentropy ....yeah a great place to check out!...

  • Too bad Australia is sooo far from here. I'd love to check it out.

  • @LibanPhotography ....worth a visit!...

  • Very nice!

  • I loved Sydney when I was there! Another great video!

  • @LindaKitch Thanks Linda

  • @finalis70 Thanks Miki

  • There's a different kind of beauty in the city streets than what I am used to here in Minnesota's north country - but it is beauty, just the same! Your music was perfect for the sights, gave the video a great feel. Thanks for the tour!

  • @mnnorthcountrygirl1 Thanks Sharron. Yes and Sydney also has some of the most beautiful waterfront-scapes you could wish for (in an urban sense).

  • Very cool. Thanks for sharing

  • @sponsler Thanks Stephen

  • The monorail is such a good idea.

  • @cattleman6420012000 Yes, and Herbert, in Sydney it works perfectly to get people around without disrupting those at street level
