  • if u know flying armbar u should win easy here they are holding hands all the time.

  • what does it look like when they're not cooperating in a choreographed exhibition?

  • nice for physical fitness program. for practical application? i don't think so..

  • Masih Made in Garut....

  • joke show !!

  • pencak silat it's cool man..!! this is from indonesia, not from another country. immune to various weapons. such as swords, whips, knives, fire, and hot sand. you may not believe, some fighters are immune to fire, with the help of objects called''az zimat'' or amulet. It's not bullshit. welcome in Indonesia.

  • the great indonesian art

  • Ayuh mari pelajari Ilmu Haq

  • wahh... the best bang..

jangan sampe punah kesenian ini.. ajarkanlah di sekolah dasar.. jgn sampe anak negeri lain yg malah mempelajarinya

  • Excellent demonstration of the silat fighting style and techniques

  • look like chicken

  • @fenrismaelstrom What you are now seeing is a bad combination of cigarettes and pork?

  • ever seen it for real mate? I have, Nasty bloody stuff, Jogja.

  • I don't know about the bullet proof claim, however do not discard the full potential of your body. Your muscle has enough power to snap your own bone in two. There are several documented cases of super human abilities in untrained subjects such as women who's protective instinct kicks in to protect their children.

One thing for certain, your body is the most expensive piece of equipment you will ever own.

  • @denisbetsi : once u become a master in traditional silat,u'll become bulletproof, and u even can throw or kill ur opponent without even touching them.

  • @kuronoha hahaha..laugh.. TERMINATOR must be a practitioner then..hahah

  • @saintlibra12 nope, terminator is a movie. this is real. why dont u come to Indonesia and see it

  • @kuronoha oh, don't be so serious my friend. i got that "terminator" thing after i read that these practitioners are immune to bullets and fire... isn't it fun to realize huh??

  • @

    JankePwnz :lol

  • muay thai best. yeah!

  • silat is lightning that's why its called thunderfist, and "The attribute of Lightning"... combat silat can never be seen on the web or elsewhere... its a blinding blast no one can see, its simply felt like a true lightning bolt... you see the flash and feel the effects... true silat is like that... not impressive to look upon, its a blurr... I'm a teacher of a Sumatran system... any americans who wish to see if silat is effective may simply approach a real teacher I'm in Central Oregon come

  • ...pulling head back, and elbow it's throat..!

  • silat is offensive and defensive, it is not one or the other,, its is both,, its in using as lil effort as posible for maximum effect, its is having a goal, and getting there with any means posible. but extremly controled, if it wasnt controled, accident would result in death

  • I heard some ancient silat practitioners have a spirit (jin) inside their body to amplify their martial art prowess. is that true?

  • yeah . that right .

now also some of the silat ppl are bullet n weapon proof .

Indon n Msia army have tis technique *spcialis army

  • i like the music! make me feel the energie

  • melv666

    silat is not for offensive..

    it's for self defense.

and please try with silat fighter if ur bones are concrete enough.

and the fact is.. depends on the fighter.. not martial arts.

  • what do you mean that silat is not for offensive...??Silat born as a martial art for destroy enemies using fast and deadly technics..!!

  • Wing Chun or kyokushin Karate?

  • This is a demo for show purposes, complete with music. You must be an idiot to think a real fight would be this slow and preceded by flowery moves (kembangan).

  • I think the slow pacing is the initial fight within a duel, which means "psychological fight" to outwit or predict the opponent moves before they really execute their attacks in quick and swift aggressive move.

  • Hi Dark,

    Do you train in Silat?

The flower dancing at the start is kinda like trying to limit your opponents options of attack by giving him a window of opportunity. It would be fatal to try and predict anyone's actions, but you can reduce the variations of what they can do. :-)

  • Unfortunately no

  • That's a great tactic to use in a fight.. give your opponent an opening, that way you know what to defend against.

  • Pencak = Pancat

    Silat = Sifat

Pencak Silat = Pancat Sifat So hai Loh yau

    Bong kang See Fat

  • at best lousy acting, lol,

  • perguruan gajah putih?

  • ya, tuan - pencak silat Gadjah Putih Jati Wisesa (Garut)

  • I'm glad to see people reconize Silat as an effective martial art.

But yes, this is a demo; not a real fight.

Silat gets deadly fairly quickly if you get too much momentum going. But the reason Silat *can* move so quickly is because the movements are extremely fluid and flexable.

  • and the prove is?

one can't say one martial arts is always better than the others.. the practitioner that decide if his/her martial arts is good or not..

maybe muay thai is good..but.. if the practitioner is not good.. even high technique of muay thai will be useless..agree?

  • @mefh05 You right,SIR

  • who said it..??u wrong...

  • Yeahh, I'm glad to hear that.....

Looks like you also learn Silat. Isn't it....

  • this is one of the most respected martial arts in the world

i am a karate practitioner and have 100% respect for this art

  • ini bawak pertandingan kalah ini tak kreatif.terlalu asas sangat.

  • Hm, one of those men, the one with the green headband looks a little familiar

  • most shallow martial artist cannot comprehend the complex body mechanics and movement and reversals shown in this footage... Silat is deadly, just ask the referee...oh wait there is no referee.... hmm maybe cause its COMBAT and not SPORT.

  • Just to clarify, I mean no direspect to the men in the video - my statement was in response to junfanjimmy below and those who believe silat to be in-effeective.

  • What you are watching is highly choreographed and stylized. This is a "show". Real combat application of silat is very fast, nasty and desinged to kill. Nothing wasted. It is very similar in theory to styles like JKD, emphasizing economy of motion and direct pre-emptive attacks. If you want to see examples of how silat is used in real combat don't look at these type of demos. I am quite certian that if one of these guys had to use silat to survive it wouldn't look like this.

  • junfanjimmy: BS? How long do you think your westernized JKD would last against one of these guys?

    My guess is not long.

  • very combative. i love it. keep it up guys.

  • great stuff!

  • terlalu banyak kembangannya...mana tekniknya....

  • You're an ignorant dumbass and you shame whatever country you belong to by such a blatantly shallow remark.

  • I take it you ain't got satelite yet either:)

  • BOring.. -.-

  • I'm sure glad that, Indonesia is one of our allies, in the war on terror. This is some greatstuff. I practice the mande muda system.

  • lol sure

  • Nice video, I would like to add that a GOLOK is the name of the short cutting sword used in the video.

In every day's live this weapon is used to cut bamboo (or arms.)

a little more style play would have been nice, I cannot see a single sarong or asra during the Jurus in the video.

It still looks really nice, especially the landing on the head while being thrown and jumping from that position. Cool!

    Peace

    Esgo

  • ah biasa aja....

  • Very nice! Very, very nice!

  • Silat,DEADLY Weapons...Very Affective....

  • AWESOME

  • Wuah hebat juga nih!!

  • from my understanding of these movements, they are shown much much slower for exhibition purposes....i think this silat is a very fast move silat...

  • @00:46

in real fight, ur arm would be ripped off

  • hebat2!

  • Great

  • excellent silat

  • nice! good moves
