  • i was cheering harder than that whole audience put together!!!!!!!

    :D:D:D:D:D::D:D:D:D

  • corella is even more limited to roles than acosta is, because he's on crack.

  • i prefer angel corella than acosta and nureyev for that matter,he is a prime example of ...amazing, check him out

  • Precioso.

    4.50 !

  • She's absolutely captivatinh.

    He makes her float.

    I enjoyed.

  • Carlos is an incredible dancer. Hurray!

  • Carlos does not have the same suppleness/ strength in his knees as Nureyev in this role re: when landing the sauts de basque he does not bend his knees enough (as much as Nureyev). I only make this comparison because I read in his biography that he was given the honour of playing Nureyev in a representation of Corsair (I think by the Royal Ballet). ANyway, he's still great!

  • what codswallop! Acosta is far superior to Nureyev - strength and suppleness is irrelevant - more a matter of the biomechanics of your body than ability to dance the role!

  • you talk about playing the role...!? Please ask what Carlos could 've taken from Nureyev in terms of acting. He was immense and redefined many of the most traditional ballets. He invented the male lead. Carlos is good, really good, Nureyev was completely immersed in ballet, completely committed.

  • No - you have not understood - the ability to dance the role based on knee flexibility - not to portray the role. Read more carefully next time!

In any case much of what you have stated is merely because Nureyev came first. Carlos Acosta also redefined the roles he played;portraying them with much more seductive energy and technical prowess that Nureyev never did.

  • yes it is!

  • This music is actually by Riccardo Drigo, isn't it?

  • The music was written by Aldolpe Adam, the 19th Century French composer who also wrote Giselle.

  • Acosta, una maravilla de la naturaleza. =D

    XM

  • Truly astonishing; amazing; and not just a technician. He dances with feeling.

  • No hay palabras! Increible.

  • wow.....

  • when from?

  • I believe when he was 16.

  • OMG!! is that true!?

  • no, they are performing in the gala. he is a professional here

  • Sem palavras!

  • Carlos Acosta the best

  • there is no better male dancer around today than charming CARLOS ACOSTA

In london the Royal Ballet are lucky to have him as a guest

Dont miss seeing him as Spartacus with the Bolshoi August 2007 at the Coliseum theatre partnering the admirable Anna Antonicheva

  • Notice that his pirouettes, although great, were not as good as usual. The floor in Laussane is very inclined, that's why I prepared a Bournanville variation when i competed.

  • BRAVO!!!

  • Anyone who can spot an artist can tell that the female is none other thatn Vishneva

  • Fabulous. Carlos Acosta is the best male dancer in the world. That says a lot when one considers Sergi Filin and Igor Zalensky are such supurb dancers themselves. Do not pass up the opportunity to view this clip.

  • Amazing, Carlos is the best

  • It doesn't look like Lorna Feijoo, plus it says it's Diana Vishneva. Awesome video, nonetheless.

  • the dancers are Carlos Acosta and Lorna Feijoo, of the Cuba National Ballet, in the Great Theatre of Hava. I use to work there!.

  • Great Video!!!

BTW, what year was this filmed?

  • this is in 97 in the Gala of Prix de Lausanne. I was there it was great

  • Make plans to be in London 6th & 8th Aug 2007 to see

talented Carlos in `TWO ` performances of Spartacus

at Th Coliseum with delightful friendly Anna Antonicheva BE THERE DONT MISS IT

  • yes we managed to book 4 tickets by phone ~~ THANKS
