what a great tribute to all soliders world wide, great choice of word rearangement to fit in with iraq, my heart goes out to not only the soldiers ,but to all there families who wait at home whilst there out there, its good to know there are people who recognise what a hard job they have to do and the perils they face, good luck and god bless them all,and prey for there safe return.
great version m8 im english and i back our troops and american troops also all the other countries that have sent troops to that hell hole respect to all the brave lads out there... come home safe
Jody is the real enemy. 6'4", never been to war before, you know the words. By the way that was beautifull. Kudos, thats always been one of my favorite songs. Great job!
Nicely "understated" singing. Rather Dylanesque. It seems our friend Camouflage keeps caring for soldiers still. Europeans may disagree attacking Iraq, but it is not the soldiers' fault.
I may agree with your statement that we Europeans do not agree with attacking Iraq, however, anyone with a half way decent and sensible thinking mind can not ignore the fact that the soldiers are not at "fault" . As an ex serving soldier I hold the upmost respect for all soldiers regardless of who they are fighting for.
Er... dude, didn't I just say so? It is not the fault of the soldiers to fight the wars some wankers make up. I have utmost respect for any soldier who chooses it as his or her profession just like I expect to be respected for mine. FInnish veterans often say about conscientours objectors "You're ok, that's why we fought so you could have a choice". Mutual respect.
I knew Stan Ridgway sings it, but if you sing this version, then congratulations. You are a very good singer. Do you sing other songs that are listed on you tube?
Greetings from Poland. You have a very good voice. It was a strange feeling to here that old song performed as a balllad but I admire it.

Not all of us Europeans were against the war in Iraq. I'm UK Irish and I support the US troops. Thanks for your bravery and service, guys.

Just one question. Do US troops in Iraq call the enemy "Johnnies"? Never heard of it.
And you issued a challenge. I will make another version of this if I find some friend to play the guitar for me as I can't.
I was on LRP in the Winter war of '39, hunting Russkie down...
