My guess is the person taking the video, doesn't own the mineral rights to this site. Nevertheless, I live in the "marcellus" region and am welcoming the oil and gas industry in with open arms. Look, I have worked on sites exactly like the one videoed here. You wouldn't believe the environmental precautions they have to go through now, as opposed to say 20 years ago? Is it smelly? yes. Is it loud? yes. But, everyone complains about foreign oil, etc. So what are we supposed to do?
Does no one realize how many jobs this has brought 2 north east pennsylvania and other areas. No one looks at the good of this they only look at the bad. And how is natural gas not natural if it's coming out of the ground?? I understand that is not all good. Stop to think at what is doing for this area is making it grow! But no one stops to think of that! DRILL BABY DRILL!!!!
To all those who think this is horrible: do your own due diligence by only using electricity that you created on your own through your own solar/wind/ other power. That's right; turn off your electricity and only use what you create. This is the only alternative if you really want to be GREEN. China- who makes most of the marketed solar panels, is actually putting up coal plants for the obvious reason that it's cheaper and more effective than solar/wind unless your power demands are small.
@CGaquamarine3 Some people actually do make all their electricity from green sources you know.
And round where I live the vast majority of the power in the grid is from the local hydroelectric plant (yes there's an environmental impact from damming, but not nearly as severe as the impact from drilling or burning fossil fuels).
This is absolutely horrible. I'm in Delaware, where iti's already chemically polluted from the Dupont Co. We will not experience the sights and sounds of fracking, but it will make our water supply undrinkable. Our Governor, thank God, disapproved of this in the Delaware River Basin. I cannot understand how the government of the State of Pennsylvania thinks that this is a good thing for it's citizens. I really feel for the people who have this mess literally in their front or back yards.
The people here don't know about or won't believe the horror in waiting. Our energy minister Mrs Arlene Foster signed us up to the horror. When we try to protest against it , Arlene calls us scaremongerers. The people trust Arlene and say 'Why would Arlene do anything to harm us?' I don't know why she wants to do this awful thing to us.I'm sad and scared.
We have a friend in Pennsylvania. Thank you for creating greater transparency---people would likely not "sign up for this" if they knew what to expect.
Come to the beautiful Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania and enjoy a breath of fresh ai... Oh wait! That was all before Tom Corbett and the O&G Industry moved in...

@9859stimpy put the focus on alternatives that are non-fossil fuel and non-polluting-- it is out there--

After viewing this no one can think that "natural" gas is natural. Thanks for the reality check.

This is a major human rights violation. People have the right to clean water and clean air. This is awful!

Who would want this in their community? Keep fracking out of NC and help those who already have it in their own states.
